INTRODUCTION

This hot air generator is a handy liquid gas fi red heater characterized by the total exploitation of the calorifi c power of the fuel, thanks to the thermal exchange for the direct mixing between air and combustion products. Such a device complies with EN 1596 dated 1998 standard.

WARNING

Such a device is for industrial use. Using such a device into basements is dangerous. Since such a device needs adequate air circulation, it should only be used in open air or rooms having an ensured and continuous air circulation. As far as its installation is concerned, national laws in force, technical rules, as well as law provisions concerning fi re and accident prevention must be complied with.

MAINS CONNECTION

Before connecting to mains, be sure that the voltage and frequency are correct (230/240 V – 50 Hz). The mains connection has to be made according to the national laws in force.
Before carrying out any repair or maintenance operations, always disconnect the power supply cable and turn off the cylinder.

FUEL AND CYLINDER POSITIONING

We recommend using only propane gas (C3H8, denomination G31) or butane (C4H10, denomination G30), or a propane/butane mixture. In all cases the gas must be I3 category. The device is to be set up in such a manner that no hot air is directed on to fl ammable objects (cloth, paper, wood, fl ammable substances etc.). The gas cylinder must be placed in a safe position, behind the device. Make sure that no object may obstruct the fan air intake .We do not recommend making use of less than 15 kg. gas cylinders.
WARNING:
– Never use the generator without outer cover
– Only connect to supply mains equipped with an earth circuit breaker.
– Air outlet must never to be reduced/minimised for any reason whatesoever
– Generator must never be covered
– When working in open air and in temperatures under 0°C, we recommend using propane gas.CLAS CH 0005 Direct Gas Heating 15kw -

CONNECTION TO GAS CYLINDER

Connect to the gas cylinder in the following order: pressure reducer (already equipped with safety valve) and gas hose. Consider that junctions are left threaded, so they need to be tightened by turning counter clockwise.
Make sure that the rubber ring has been fi tted between the reducer and the cylinder (in case the type of connection require one); connect the hose
to the gas inlet socket. Check joint seal by pouring over some soapy solution- bubbles are evidence of a gas leak.
More cylinders can be connected so to reach a greater autonomy.
The cylinder replacement must be carried out far from any flame. Be sure that the gas tube position is perfectly streched.
Only the following accessories can be used to connect the cylinder:

  • Flexible hose for liquid gas in accordance with DIN 4815 part 2, pressure class DK 6.
  • Liquid gas pressure reducer in accordance with DIN 4811 part 1.
  • Safety valve in accordance with DIN 30693, if the fl exible hose is longer than 0.4 m.

START

  1. Switch the cylinder on (see fi g. 1).
  2. Start the fan by means of the white switch (see fi g. 2).
  3. Press the gas button and, keeping it pressed, repeatedly press the electric piezoelectric lighter until lame is visible (see fi g. 3).
  4. After igniting the fl ame, keep the gas button pressed for 15-20 seconds to activate thermal safety devices (see fi g. 4)
  5. At this point, release the button; the fl ame will stay on.
  6. Should the fan stop due to a possible power cut, safety device will automatically switch the generator off in a few seconds.
  7. The same applies in the event of gas interruptions. In both cases follow the same procedure as before to re-ignite.
  8. Avoid numerous attempts to ignite the device within a short period: if it does not ignite immediately, proceed with a troubleshooting.

STOP

  • Switch the cylinder off .
  • Leave fan running for a few seconds so that cooling off may occur
  • Turn off the fan by acting on the white switch.
  • Put such a device into a dry and dust free place.
  • Always switch the cylinder off when the device is not working.
WARNING: The mobile generator must only be used on fi re-resistant fl oors. – Safety distance: 2 metres from walls or other objects. – The generator must not be used in rooms containing explosive powders, gas fumes, fl ammable substances and materials. – The burner must be regularly cleaned if used in dusty environments.-All service operations must be carriedout by duly authorized staff only.

USE WITH NO PERMANENT PRESENCE OF PEOPLE

  • Warning posters must be displayed prohibiting people from being permanently in that room.
  • The generators must only be used for rooms drying purposes only, provided that there is a guaranteed quantity of air exchange necessary for combustion.
  • The necessary quantity of air will be reached when the volume of the room (in m3) is at least 10 times the nominal calorifi c power (in kW) of all hot air generators used in that room.
  • Normal air circulation through doors and windows must be ensured.

USE WITH PERMANENT PRESENCE OF PEOPLE

  • The generators can be used in well-ventilated rooms and when the percentage of polluting substances in the air does not exceed danger levels for health.
  • A good ventilation is guaranteed when the room’s volume (in m3) is at least 30 times the nominal calorifi c power (in kW) of all the machines used in that room and when an air circulation through doors, windows or permanent openings can be guaranteed, the size of which (in m2) is at least 0,003 times the nominal calorifi c power (in kW) of all the machines used in that room.Openings must be also distributed in height.
  • The concentration of dangerous substances in the air is acceptable until it reaches maximum levels and the percentage of oxygen in the air exceeds 17% in volume. The apparatus should not be used for continuous heating of stables and farms.

MAINTENANCE

  • Before starting any kind of maintenance and repair operations, always disconnect.
  • Air outlet and nozzle are on the device upper part so being easily accessible by removing the control box by means of its 4 screws.
  • Maintenance procedures are quite simple and do not require technical expertise.
