maquira Impression Die Addition Silicone for Models
PRESENTATION
Package with 01 double cartridge (1:1 ratio) of Impression Die with 50 mL and 06 mixing tips.
DESCRIPTION
Impression Die is a molding material from the line of silicones that polymerize by addition reaction (vinyl polysiloxanes) and has indication for the extra-oral production of dental arch models (semi-rigid model). It is a product that allows the fabrication of indirect composite restorations in the doctor’s office, and that, by means of its fluidity, is capable of reproducing the details with great precision. In addition, due to the material’s characteristics, the manipulation time becomes adequate for application in dental offices. Another characteristic of this product is that the final hardness is obtained within 6 minutes after the application of the material.
INDICATION OF USE
Impression Die is indicated for extra-oral model making (semi-rigid model) of dental arches, teeth and cavity preparations.
COMPOSITION
Base Paste: Silicon Polymers, Silica, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Silicate and Pigment.
Catalyst Paste: Silicon Polymers, Silica, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Silicate and Pigment.
MODE OF USE
Loading and Operating the Fluid Material
Dispenser/Application Pistol:
- Place the Impression Die cartridge into the compatible Dispenser/Pistol. Close the cartridge retainer located at the top of the Dispenser.
- Before dispensing, make sure that both openings of the cartridge are unobstructed. Dispense a small amount of molding material until the base and catalyst pastes emerge simultaneously and evenly (for technical reasons, slight differences in the filling levels of the base and catalyst pastes may occur before the first use) and then attach a mixing tip to the cartridge.
- Connect the mixing tip to the cartridge, note that there is a specific side to connect this device, in order to avoid contact between the base and catalyst pastes earlier than desired.
- Press the lever of the Dispenser/Pistol to expel the material towards the tip and observe the complete automatic mixing of the base and catalyst pastes (the ratio will be 1:1 in volume).
- Make sure that the base and catalyst pastes are perfectly mixed (homogeneous) verified by the uniform coloring. Paste color: see “Forms of Presentation”.
- Do not force the polymerized material out of the mixing tip. Excessive force may damage the cartridge and mixing tip, resulting in material spillage.
- The mixing tip is for single use only. After use, store the cartridge tightly sealed. Before reuse, check that the cartridge openings are unobstructed.
- Remove unpolymerized paste with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
Confection
- To make a model of a dental arch, tooth or cavity preparation, first make an alginate impression of the prepared area. Do not use silicone or polyether for this purpose.
- Subsequently clean and dry the impression in the usual manner.
- For a faithful impression of the model, make sure there is no moisture between the parts. Fill the impression with Impression Die respecting the working time of the material.
- Make sure that the sample is evenly extruded.
- Start applying Impression Die directly at the deepest points of the impression, filling the gaps from that part to the shallowest part.
- Keep the tip end immersed in the material, furthermore, to avoid bubbles being incorporated into the final mix the material must be continuously dispensed.
- The working time is 30 seconds at room temperature (23 °C / 73.4 °F). However, both the working time and the setting time are affected by temperature, with these parameters being accelerated at higher temperatures and prolonged at lower temperatures.
- After 5 minutes of mixing the base and catalyst pastes, the addition silicone model is finished and can be removed from the impression.
- With the significant hardness of the material after the end of the polymerization, it is possible to immediately start modeling the restoration.
Timing
Application in the mold
0 – 45 min
Removal from mold
4 min 30 s – 5 min
End of polymerization
6 min
Note: The times indicated apply at an ambient temperature of 23 °C/73.4 °F and a relative humidity of 50%. Higher temperatures reduce these times and lower temperatures increase them.
WARNINGS
- The Impression Die is intended for professional use only.
- Polysiloxane vinyl molding pastes must not be combined with condensation silicones or polyether-based molding materials. Even minimal amounts may affect the setting reaction.
- Disposable latex gloves inhibit the setting of addition silicone molding pastes. Vinyl gloves are therefore suitable.
- The moldings must not under any circumstances come into contact with liquids containing solvents. This could result in deformation (expansion) and distortion of the models.
- Do not use the product after its expiration date. For disposal, follow the legislation of your country.
- Do not reuse the empty packaging.
- Keep out of reach of children.
PRECAUTIONS
- Impression Die contains a platinum catalyst in its formulation and should not be used in case of known hypersensitivity (allergy) to this component.
- Prevent contamination of Impression Die or contact surfaces with chemical compounds that may inhibit or retard its setting, such as acrylate and methacrylate residues, latex rubbers and sulfur compounds, and eugenol-based materials.
- The setting process can be inhibited by the use of hand creams, cleaning agents, mouth rinses, gingival retraction solutions or residues of other materials. Therefore, ensure integrity of the area before applying Impression Die.
- Retain the mixing tip with polymerized material attached to the cartridge until the next use. Removal and replacement of a worn mixing tip may lead to paste transfer and subsequent clogging.
- In case of allergy, discontinue use immediately and advise the patient to seek medical attention.
- Wear mask and suitable gloves when handling the material.
- Avoid contact with eyes. Wear safety goggles when handling the product. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water. If necessary, consult a physician.
- Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with the skin. It is recommended to use the “no-touch” technique. In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. If necessary, consult a physician.
- Avoid ingestion. Wash hands after handling and before eating.
- Use in well-ventilated area.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Do not use Impression Die in patients with hypersensitivity to the product components.
- Impression Die is a material for dental use only, and is not indicated for situations and events other than this document.
ADVERSE EFFECT
To date, no adverse effects of the product have been identified. No side effects are expected if the product is used according to instructions.
