Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of our flow switch. We prioritize
functional security and operational safety.
Installation
The device should be installed between the outlet of the pump and the first
collector.
Warning : Do not install an additional check valve between the pump and the device, as it may cause problems.
Operation
The installation must be performed by a qualified professional. Prior to
each use, check that the electrical connections and cables are not damaged.
Ensure that the electrical connections are earthed according to
statutory regulations. Avoid cable extensions, as they may void the warranty.
Warning: Before carrying out any work, open a tap to discharge the system, as
the pipes may be under pressure when the pump
stops. The electrical connections should always be carried out by an
authorized professional. The pump may be used by children aged 8 years and
above, as well as persons with reduced mobility.
Servicing
Regularly perform the following checks:
- Functional test (minimum every 3 months)
- Check the integrity of the power cord
- Clean the guidelines (e.g., no buckling)
- Clean the media (no sand, no sludge)
Recognizing and Repairing Mistakes

SAFETY INSTRUCTION AND WARNINGS
INTRODUCTION
We would like to congratulate you on the purchase of our flow switch. We appreciate your trust. That‘s why functional security and operational safety stand by us in the first place. To prevent damage to persons or property, you should read this user manual carefully. Please observe all safety precautions and instructions for proper use of the 3.2. Failure to follow the instructions and safety precautions can result in injury or property damage. Please keep this manual with the instructions and safety instructions carefully in order to at any time you can restore them. Please always download the latest version of the user manual of www.profi-pumpe.de under „downloads“. This shall always prevail.
IN GENERAL
The 3.2 is a circuit device that an electrical load (pump) automatically
switches on and off. The device monitors the pressure and the flow in the
pressure line. Depending upon the pressure or the flow rate, the AC switch 5
one or more electrical consumers (MAX 10A) on and off. The 3.2 is to be used
exclusively for nonabrasive clear water without debris and other dirt. In the
opposite case, an effective pre-filter with a mesh size should be installed no
coarser than 0.2 mm in front of the device. The manometer indicates the
pressure in the system. It helps to monitor the proper pump function and to
detect leaks in the system.
Make sure after unpacking that the data given on the nameplate agrees with the
foreseen operating conditions. When in doubt, the operation is prohibited.
Transport damages are reported immediately to the transport company and to us
in writing.
INSTALLATION
The device is installed at any point between the outlet of the pump and the first collector so that the direction of the arrow on the side between the two 1 „connections with the flow direction of the fluid in the pipeline matches. Make sure that the hydraulic connections are completely sealed. If a pump with maximum pressure is used above 7 bar, a pressure reducer at the entrance of the device must be installed. The pump controller is to be used only for pumps that produce a minimum pressure of 2.5 bar at the device installation point. The electrical connection of the unwired version is after the electrical diagram (see paragraph. 13) is produced. If a consumer is used with a power of more than 1.1 kW and the ambient temperature is higher than 25 °C, must be used for the wiring is not less than 99 °C cable with heat resistance. For wiring, only use these specific pliers. When ready to plug in the wired version, it is sufficient to connect the power cord of the pump with the outlet of 3.2 and shut the power plug of 3.2 to an electrical outlet the power grid is on. The pressure at which the device starts is set to 1.5 bar, this pressure is optimal for most applications. The height of the water column above the 3.2 should not exceed 10m.
Warning: No additional check valve should be installed between the pump and the 3.2, as it sometimes causes problems.
OPERATION
The installation must be performed by a qualified professional. Please, check each time before using, the electrical connections and the cables are not damaged. Check before the installation whether the electrical connections are earthed according to the statutory regulations and are installed. Also, it is NOT recommended to perform, for example, a cable extension. It is not certain whether this modification is technically correct, so this warranty is void.
SECURITY TIPS
-
Obey absolutely valid regulations on electrical security
-
To avoid shocks and fire risks, read and follow closely the following instructions:
-
Always unplug the device from the mains before carrying out any work on it.
-
Be sure that the electric line connecting the device to the mains and the extension
leads have a cross-section suitable for pump power and be sure that the electrical connections are far away from any water source -
When a Flow guard is used for swimming pools, ponds, and fountains if is necessary to use an automatic RCD with IDn = 3OmA protection.
Warning: When the pump stops the pipes are under pressure consequently we recommend opening a tap to discharge the system before carrying out any work.
- The electrical connections are always to be carried out by an authorized professional
- The pump may be used by children aged 8 years and above as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities or those who lack skills, experience, and knowledge only if they are supervised.
- These aforementioned persons should only use the appliance while adhering to safe instructions and resulting dangers.
- Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
- The pump must not be used or operated under any circumstances when there are people in the same water.
- Under certain circumstances, it is possible that the contamination of water is caused by leakage.
THE MANUFACTURER EXPLAINS
- To take over no responsibility in the case of accidents or damages on the basis of carelessness or disregard for the instructions in this book.
- To reject every responsibility for the damages which originate from the improper use of the device
SERVICING
It may happen occasionally that dirt is retained in the internal check valve and this is no longer seals 100%. The first remedy should be always trying to flush the check valve free. For this purpose, eg. As the Garden side faucet is on full blast, the pump at full-rated power promotes about 30 minutes of water. Is then the timing is not clear, the unit must be replaced. Prior to installation of the new device, the pump is, free to flush any case, as previously described. Opening the device on a non-return valve is prohibited and always results in the loss of any existing warranty. In addition, persons could be dangerous when Operating a clocking pump occur, so that the pump may be operated under any circumstances. Until the device is replaced, the pump must be taken out of service. For abrasive materials such as sand, shortening the Maintenance period and the device lifetime.
The following checks should be carried out regularly
- functional test (min. every 3 months)
- The integrity of the power cord
- Clean the guidelines (e.g. no buckling)
- Clean the media (no sand, no sludge)
