Product Information
The Salt & Pepper MillsTM are a set of electric mills designed for grinding salt and pepper. They feature a stainless steel body with a ceramic grinding system, adjustable grind control, and a built-in light that illuminates during operation. The mills are powered by 6 x AAA batteries (not included) and come with a removable battery cartridge for easy battery replacement. The mills also have a salt and pepper compartment with a viewing window for easy monitoring of the fill level. The base cover ensures mess-free storage.
Product Usage Instructions
Before First Use
- Remove any packaging material and promotional labels from the Salt & Pepper Mills before first use.
- Wipe the Salt & Pepper Mills with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the mills in water or any other liquid.
Inserting the Batteries
- To open the battery cartridge, hold the stainless steel mill body in one hand whilst turning the removable top in an anti-clockwise direction until it aligns with the dot. Pull the battery cartridge away from the stainless steel mill body.
- Insert 6 x AAA batteries into the removable cartridge, ensuring that the polarity of each battery follows the graphics.
- Replace the battery compartment on the mill body, ensuring it aligns with the dot. Hold the mill body in one hand whilst turning the top in a clockwise direction until it aligns with the dot.
- NOTE: Remove the batteries if the Salt & Pepper Mills are not to be used for an extended period of time.
Filling the Mills
- The Salt & Pepper Mills are only suitable for grinding salt and pepper. Do not attempt to grind spices or other foods in the mills.
- Refer to the salt or pepper manufacturer’s directions before using it in the Salt & Pepper Mills. Some varieties may not be suitable for use in a mill.
- To open the salt and pepper compartment, hold the stainless steel mill body in one hand and using the other hand, turn the lower compartment in an anti-clockwise direction until it aligns with the dot.
- Pour the desired amount of salt or pepper into the compartment, being careful not to overfill.
- Once filled, replace the stainless steel mill body on top of the salt and pepper compartment, aligning it with the dot. Turn in a clockwise direction until it aligns with the dot.
Adjusting the Grind
The Salt & Pepper Mills have adjustable grind control to suit your preference. The grind control knob can be found at the base of the grinder where the ground salt/pepper falls from.
Operating the Mills
- Ensure that the base storage cover has been removed before using the mills.
- Hold the mill directly over the food to be seasoned.
- Press and hold the one touch operation button at the top of the mill.
- For a finer grind, turn the grind control knob in a clockwise direction. For a coarser grind, turn the grind control knob in an anti-clockwise direction.
- NOTE: Do not turn the grind control knob more than 5 full rotations to avoid unscrewing it from other internal components.

- The Salt & Pepper Mills are not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning use of the Salt & Pepper Mills, by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the Salt & Pepper Mills.
- Do not use the Salt & Pepper Mills on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or anywhere it could touch a heated oven.
- Do not place the Salt & Pepper Mills in direct sunlight.
- Always ensure the 6 x AAA batteries are correctly inserted into the Salt & Pepper Mills before use. The mills will not operate unless properly assembled.
- Do not use a combination of old and new batteries; change all batteries at the same time when they run out of power.
- Ensure that the same type of batteries are used together i.e.: alkaline or heavy duty.
- Always remove the batteries if the Salt & Pepper Mills will not be used for an extended period of time.
- Only recharge batteries that are specifically designed to be recharged.
- Ensure used batteries are disposed of correctly.
- Children should not touch or play with the batteries or put them in their mouths.
- Any maintenance other than cleaning should be performed at any authorised Breville®Service Centre.
- Do not use the Salt & Pepper Mills if they are damaged or have malfunctioned.
- The Salt & Pepper Mills are for household use only. Do not use the mills for anything other than its intended use. Misuse may cause injury.
- Do not immerse the Salt & Pepper Mills in water or any other liquid. Do not place the Salt & Pepper Mills in the dishwasher.
- Do not place anything on top of the Salt & Pepper Mills when stored.
- Keep the Salt & Pepper Mills clean. Refer to the cleaning instructions in this booklet.

ADJUSTING THE GRIND
The Salt & Pepper Mills have adjustable grind control, allowing the ground
results to be fine or coarse to suit your preference. The grind control knob
can be found at the base of the grinder where the ground salt/pepper falls
from.

For a coarser grind, turn the grind control knob in an anti-clockwise
direction.
NOTE
Do not turn the grind control knob more than 5 full rotations. Doing so will
unscrew the grind control knob from other internal components.
OPERATING THE MILLS
When using the Salt & Pepper Mills, ensure that the base storage cover has
been removed.
Hold the mill directly over the food to be seasoned, press and hold the one
touch operation button at the top of the mill.
While the mill is operating, the light at the base of the grinder will
illuminate.
To stop grinding, release the one touch button.
If the salt and pepper grinder is no longer needed, replace the base storage
cover onto the mill.
WARNING
Do not use the Salt & Pepper Mills over cooking. Moisture from the steam can
clog the mills grinding mechanism.
Care & Cleaning
To clean the outside of the Salt & Pepper Mills, wipe the stainless steel
housing with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Do not use steel wool , scouring pads or abrasive cleaners on the Salt &
Pepper Mills, as they will damage the stainless steel housing.
To clean the inside of the salt and pepper compartment, empty out the contents
of the compartment and use a dry pastry brush or another small brush to clear
out any remaining salt or pepper.
NOTE
Do not immerse the Salt & Pepper Mills in water or any other liquid.
STORAGE
The Salt & Pepper Mills should be stored in a dry and cool location. This will
help to prevent the contents from clumping.
Ensure that the base storage cover is attached to the base of the mill before
storing.
If the Salt & Pepper Mills are not being used for an extended period of time,
the batteries should be removed.
Warranty
2 YEAR WARRANTY
Breville provides product warranty for domestic use in specified territories
for 2 year from date of purchase by faulty workmanship and materials. During
this warranty period, Breville will provide repairs and replacement for any
defective product (based on Breville’s Warranty Policy).
