THUREN 2014-2023 RAM 2500/PW Rear Coil Spring Kit and Rear Swaybar Links Installation Guide
1. Pre-Install
-
Jack the rear of your truck up a bit further than expected because Thuren Coils are longer than OEM coils and will need space to be installed.
-
Place jack stand(s) underneath frame for support.
-
Rear Sway Bar End Links and Shocks must be unbolted to drop axle far enough down for Thuren coils install.
– It is fairly common for the upper shock nut to be seized and require the nut to be cut off and/or split from the shaft -
If the truck is equipped with a Traction Shock mounted to the top of the differential it can limit down travel and should be disconnected for easier install.
Warning
On some trucks, there is a wire loom next to the drivers side upper shock
mount, be careful not to damage wiring.
2. Coil Install
- Install coils with Thuren logo facing up.
- Align coil ends with upper isolator.
3. Sway Bar Link Install
- Before installing links, check that provided hardware slides through all mounts smoothly. It may be necessary to open up mount holes with a 1/2″ drill bit for proper fitment.
- Install Sway Bar End Links on the outside of Sway Bar and Frame mounts to avoid possible damage to Zerk Fittings. Zerk Fittings should be facing Forward and Upward. (image 1)
- The Flange of the sleeve mounts against the Frame and Sway Bar.
- Install bolts with flange head against the center ball
- Torque Sway Bar Links Nuts to 100 Ft/Lbs.
- Once truck is back on ground at ride height, loosen Track Bar bolts and re-torque to 140 ft / lbs
- Apply Torque Stripe and/or Paint Marker to all hardware for quick visual verification of Torque Specifications.
- Recheck all hardware after 500 miles.
