APPLICATION

The high-pressure washer is a highly specialised multifunctional device that is exceptionally reliable and safe. It may be used to wash and clean cars, bikes and other outdoor equipment or, greenhouses, etc.
Helpful hints for getting started
Automatic on/off:
The motor on this high-pressure washer does not run continuously. It only runs when the trigger of the spray gun is squeezed. See the Operating Instructions section in this manual for further details.
Releasing pressure and water from the spray gun:
It is very important to release pressure and water from the spray gun before using the high-pressure washer. Squeeze the trigger to allow any air that is trapped inside the device and hose to escape. Continue to squeeze the trigger until a steady stream of water comes from the nozzle. (This process may take up to 2 minutes.) See the Operating Instructions section for this process.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

! This device is to be connected to a cold water source ONLY.
! Before working, make sure that you inspect the water inlet filter and the nozzle. Make sure there are no impurities.

  • Connect the outlet hose to the high-pressure washer and connect the spray gun to the outlet hose.
  • Connect the nozzle and nozzle extension.
  • Check that the water inlet filter is clear of any blockage.
  • Connect the inlet hose.
  • Check that the hose is not twisted.
  • Turn on the water and check for leaks.
  • Press the trigger to allow air to be released through the pump and hoses. Lock the trigger.
  • Plug in the device and turn it on.
  • Unlock the trigger and use the high-pressure washer.

Shut down

  1. Turn off the motor (push the switch to the OFF position).
  2. Unplug the device from the socket.
  3. Turn off the water supply.
  4. Press the trigger of the spray gun to depressurise the system.
  5. Disconnect the inlet hose from the high-pressure washer.
  6. Wipe all surfaces of the device with a damp clean cloth.
  7.  Engage the spray gun’s safety lock.

CAUTION: ALWAYS turn off the device’s motor BEFORE turning off the device’s water supply.
Serious damage could occur to the motor if the device is run without water.
CAUTION: NEVER disconnect the inlet hose from the device while the system is still pressurised. To depressurise the device, turn off the motor, turn off the water supply and squeeze the trigger 2–3 times.

ADJUSTABLE SPRAY NOZZLE

Turn the spray gun into the closed position first: hold the rear part of the spray nozzle, then turn the front part of the spray nozzle clockwise. Water will spray out from the spray nozzle in a fan pattern (fig. 2). Turn the front part of the spray nozzle anticlockwise. Water will spray out from the spray nozzle linearly (fig. 1).
Low/High-pressure adjustable spray gun
Using high pressure: Make sure the trigger is released and there is no water spraying. Then turn the rear part of the spray nozzle anticlockwise (fig. 4). Squeeze the trigger and the gun will spray water with high pressure.
Using low pressure: Make sure the trigger is released and there is no water spraying. Then turn the rear part of the spray nozzle clockwise (fig. 3). Squeeze the trigger and the gun will spray water with low pressure.
CAUTION: Selection of high or low pressure takes place by turning the nozzle. You must make this pressure selection with the spray gun in the closed position.
NOTE! The water inlet filter must be inspected regularly, so as to avoid blockage and restriction of the water supply to the pump (fig. 5).

USING DETERGENT

Add detergent to the container. Set the spray gun to the low-pressure position. Squeeze the trigger to spray detergent. When using detergents, the safety data sheet issued by the detergent manufacturer must be adhered to, especially the instructions regarding personal protective equipment. Some detergents have been customised for use in high-pressure washers for specific cleaning tasks. Using detergents that are not recommended for using in high- pressure washers, such as dishwashing liquid, will clog the chemical injection system and prevent the application of the detergent. The cleaning power of detergents comes from applying them to a surface and giving the chemicals time to break down the dirt and grime. Detergents work best when applied at low pressure.
On vertical surfaces, apply the detergent starting at the bottom and work your way upwards. This will prevent the detergent from dripping down and causing streaks.
Foam cleaning method
Be sure to insert the detergent in the built-in tank on the back of the device and remove the tip as shown in fig. 6.

SPRAY GUN SAFETY LOCK
Whenever you use the high-pressure washer spray gun, we suggest you grip it in the right position, with one hand on the handle and the other on the stem.
When you stop the device, you must use the safety lock placed on the gun in order to avoid  anyaccidents.

NOZZLE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

A clogged or partially clogged nozzle can cause a significant reduction of water coming out of the nozzle and cause the device to pulsate while spraying.

  • Using the included tip cleaner or an unfolded paper clip, insert a wire into the nozzle hole and move it back and forth until the debris is dislodged.
  • Remove additional debris by back-flushing water through the nozzle. To do this, place the end of a garden hose (with water running) to the end of nozzle for 30–60 seconds.

DISTANCE AND ANGLE FROM SURFACE TO BE CLEANED

The optimum angle for spraying water against a surface is 45 degrees. Spraying water against a surface at this angle provides the most beneficial impact force combined with efficient removal of debris from the surface.
Another factor that determines the impact force of the water is the distance from the spray nozzle to the surface. The impact force of the water is increased as the nozzle is moved closer to the surface.
HOW TO AVOID DAMAGING SURFACES
Damage to surfaces being cleaned occurs because the impact force of the water exceeds the durability of the surface. Never use a narrow high-impact stream or a turbo/rotary nozzle on a surface that is susceptible to damage. Avoid spraying windows with a narrow high-impact stream or turbo nozzle, as this may cause  breakage. The surest way to avoid damaging surfaces is to follow these steps:

  1. Before triggering the spray gun, adjust the nozzle to a wide fan pattern.
  2. Place the nozzle approximately 1–2 metres and at a 45 degree angle from the surface and trigger the spray gun.
  3.  Vary the fan pattern spray angle and the distance from the cleaning surface until optimum cleaning efficiency is achieved without damaging the surface.

TURBO NOZZLE (NOT INCLUDED WITH ALL MODELS)
A turbo nozzle is a very effective tool that can significantly reduce cleaning time.
The turbo nozzle combines the power of a narrow high-impact stream and the efficiency of a 25 degree fan pattern. This swirls the narrow high-impact stream into a cone shape that cleans a larger area.
CAUTION: Since a turbo nozzle uses a narrow high-impact stream, only use it in applications where the surface cannot be damaged by narrow high-impact spray. Additionally, the turbo nozzle is NOT adjustable and cannot be used to apply detergent.
Cleaning tips
The following cleaning procedure will help you to organise your cleaning task, and ensure that you achieve the most beneficial results in the shortest amount of time.

  1. Surface preparation Before cleaning with the high-pressure washer, make sure that you have prepared your working space. This is done by clearing the area of furniture, and making sure that all windows and doors are closed tight. In addition, you should make sure that all plants and trees adjacent to the area are protected if you are using detergents.
  2. Initial high-pressure rinse The next step is to spray the surface with water to clear off any dirt or grime that may have collected on the surface. This will allow your detergent to attack the deep-down dirt that has worked its way into the surface. Before triggering the spray gun, adjust the nozzle to a wide fan pattern and slowly adjust to the desired spray pattern. This will help you to avoid applying too much concentrated spray to the surface, which could cause damage.
  3. Detergent application NOTE: Use only detergents formulated for high-pressure washers. NOTE: Test the detergent in an inconspicuous area before use.
  4. Final rinse Start the final rinse at the bottom and work upwards. Make sure you thoroughly rinse the surface and that all detergent has been removed.
