CHARGING THE SPY PEN
The battery is a built-in lithium rechargeable battery. Prior to first use charge for a minimum of 4 hours by connecting to a USB power adapter, i.e. smart phone charger, using the provided USB cable. The LED flashes orange while charging. Solid Orange LED indicates battery is fully charged.
SETTING THE TIME
The current date and time can be added to your video files.
Turn off the camera and connect to your computers USB port using the USB cable
provided.
Open Removable Disk (view files) and create a new text document in the root
directory.
Name the file TIME.TXT. Open the txt file and type the current date and time
e.g.; 2018-06-01 15:30:22. Save the changes on exit.
Ensure there are no spaces before the year and none after the seconds. Leave a space between the day & hour.
OPERATION
TURN ON/OFF
Hold the ON/OFF button for 3 second. LED indicator will turn solid Blue then
flash 3 times and turn off. Camera is now in standby mode. To shut down after
recording, hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. LED will be solid blue for a
few seconds then power down.
Camera is now off.
RECORDING
Camera Mode: Ensure the video /camera switch is to the left (as your looking the pen, refer to picture page 2) Press the on/off button for 2 seconds, then the camera light will slowly flash Orange. When you take a photo, the light will flash Blue to indicate you have taken a picture then go back to slowly flashing Orange.
Video Mode : Ensure the video /camera switch is to the right (as your looking the pen, refer to picture page 2) Press the on/off button for 2 seconds to turn the unit on, the light will be Blue. Press the button once to start the recording and the Orange light will come on while you are recording. Press the button once more to stop the recording.
PLAYBACK
Connect to computer: To connect to the PC to download files or watch recorded
video you need to turn off the Pen prior to connecting to PC. It can then be
connected to computer via the USB cable and port. The computer will show the
drive letter of the Removable Disk; the video files will be saved in this
directory.
Caution
Your Pen Cam is a high-tech device and should be treated with care.
The Pen Cam may become fairly hot during recording – this is normal. To ensure
proper cooling do not block the flow of air to the cover of the Pen Cam.
Keep the Pen Cam dry. Precipitation, humidity, and all types of liquids or
moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. If your
Pen Cam does get wet, allow it to dry completely.
Do not drop or knock the Pen Cam. Rough handling can break internal circuit
boards and fine mechanisms.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean
the Pen Cam.
When the Pen Cam seems to malfunction, you can reset it. Use a thin needle (or
toothpick) to press the Reset button inside the Reset hole (very gently).
Restart the Pen Cam, this should fix most issues.
