Product Usage Instructions
Warning:
Existing fittings must be completely removed before installing the new
product. Carefully note the position of each set of wires before removing the
existing fitting. Switch off the power supply at the fuse board. Seal the
screws and cable entry points to
maintain the IP rating of the product.
Installation
Determine the position of your light fitting, considering the cable entry
position. Ensure there is sufficient cable coming out of the wall to connect
to the terminal block. Mount the light fitting on a solid surface like a brick
or block wall, making sure there are no other cables or pipes beneath the
surface. An approved outdoor-rated plug and socket or an approved outdoor-
rated external terminal block may be required.
Wiring
If not fitting to a plug, the product must be wired to an IP68 outdoor-
rated terminal block. We recommend using items 90131/90132 (outdoor rated
terminal block). Connect the wiring from your existing light fitting to the
approved outdoor rated or approved double insulated terminal block (not
supplied) in the following way:
Supply | NEUTRAL | SWITCHED LIVE |
---|---|---|
LIGHT FITTING | BLUE (N) | BROWN (L) |
Secure the connection block with two layers of insulation tape.
Care and Safety
Clean the light fitting with a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvents or
abrasive cleaners as they may damage the finish. Always switch off the power
supply before cleaning. The LED module is protected by a shade, which cannot
be replaced. If the shade
becomes cracked or damaged, the light fitting must be discarded.
Disposal
Do not dispose of waste electrical products with household waste. Please
recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or local store
for recycling advice.
Dimming
This product is not suitable for dimming.

- To prevent electrocution switch off the mains supply before installing or maintaining this fitting. Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical supply without your knowledge.
- If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
- This light fitting should be connected to a circuit with a 30mA RCD fitted.
- If replacing an existing fitting, make a careful note of the connections.
- This system contains non-replaceable parts and cannot be serviced. If damage occurs the part should be scrapped.
- Take care not to drill into any pipes or main cables beneath the surface during mounting hole preparation.
- The entire unit gets hot whilst on for a period of time.

Layout
Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully, ensuring the cables will
reach the distance between the junction box and the light fitting. Avoid
locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables
and junction boxes (not supplied)
away from areas where they may be at risk of being cut, trapped, or damaged.
We recommend that you use H05RN-F specification cable (not supplied) which is
an outdoor grade, rubber-sheathed cable. The main supply cable must have a
minimum cross-section area of 1.0mm2. Cables must be protected using suitable
conduit or plastic trunking. The products should not be fitted to PIR circuits
or short-duration timed switches.
Installation
Existing fittings must be completely removed before the installation of a new product. Before removing the existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires. Note that the power needs to be isolated/switched off at the fuse board. Ensure that the screws and cable entry points are sealed to maintain the IP rating of the product. Determine the position of your light fitting taking into account the entry position of the cable and make sure there is sufficient cable coming out of the wall to connect to the terminal block. Ensure that the mounting surface is solid, preferably a brick or block wall, and ensure that there are no other cables or pipes beneath the surface. An approved outdoor-rated plug and socket may be required. Alternatively, an approved outdoor-rated external terminal block may be used. We recommend item 90131/90132 (outdoor rated terminal block).
- Refer to the diagram below. Decide on the location of the product. Measure the distance between the mounting bracket location slots, and mark the location of the fixing holes on the mounting surface.
- Drill holes and fit-supplied wall plugs (suitable for masonry only – for other surfaces use appropriate fixings). Fix mounting brackets in place.
- Wire as detailed Wiring diagram.
- Attach the product to mounting brackets by pushing until securely held.
- Replace the fuse or circuit breaker and switch it on. Your light is now ready for use.
Wiring
If not fitting to a plug then the product must be wired to an IP68 outdoor-
rated terminal block. We recommend item 90131/ 90132 (outdoor rated terminal
block). Having correctly identified the wiring from your existing light
fitting, connect to the approved outdoor rated or approved double insulated
terminal block (not supplied) in the following way:
Check that…
- You have correctly identified the wires.
- The connections are tight.
- No loose strands have been left out of the connection block.
- When completed, ensure that there are no bare or loose strands of wire exposed, and cover all exposed areas of the connection block with 2 layers of insulation tape.
