Please read carefully and keep it.

Important safety instructions

  • The use and storage of this product is intended for adults only.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be removed The manufacturer, its service center or similarly qualified persons must be replaced in order to exclude any risk.
  • Always disconnect the device from the power supply when left unattended and before assembling, dismantling or cleaning.
  • The device must not be operated by children. Keep the device and the cable out of the reach of children.
  • The use of the device by people with Reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or without sufficient experience and knowledge is prohibited unless they are supervised, have received instructions on how to use the equipment safely and understand the associated risks.
  • The device is not a toy for children.
  • When disconnecting the device from the power supply, pull the plug and not the cable. Keep away from hot and humid places.
  • Do not place the product on or near hot objects or surfaces.
  • Keep the power cord away from hot objects.
  • Do not connect or disconnect the plug with wet hands.
  • The device cannot be operated via an external device Timer or a separate remote control system is provided.
  •  Empty remaining coffee beans from the device regularly.
  • Always place the item to be weighed in the middle of the scale.
  • Do not put anything on the scales unless the device is switched on.
  • Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for a long period of time.

  •  Never immerse the device in water or other liquids dive.
  •  Store the scale in a cool, dry place.

  •  Take the device out of operation immediately if a defect occurs, if it is dropped or is damaged.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Remove all advertising labels and packaging materials from your Wilfa product and dispose of them safely. Clean the housingÿ, the lid of the coffee bean bowl/scale, the coffee bean bowl and the coffee grinding disc with a dry cloth.

Place the grinder on a flat surface and plug the power cord into a 220-240V power outlet. The button LED  lights up white (2 seconds) and goes out.

Note: If the bean hopper ÿ is not locked, the coffee grinder cannot be operated for safety reasons.

Annotation:
Fill the bean funneley with a maximum of 75 g of coffee beans.
Capacity of the grinding containerey: max. 75 g

ADJUSTING THE GRINDING LEVEL

There is a separate grinding level for each type of preparation, espresso, percolator, filter coffee, French press and cowboy coffee. There are a number of settings for each type of  preparation. Experiment with grind settings to get the drink that best suits your taste. To get started, we recommend you use the grind sizes listed in the table below. This table will also help you find the right ratio of coffee and water.

To begin, turn the bean hoppery to the position with the desired grind level. Weigh the coffee beans for the desired amount of coffee.

Note: There are 41 grind settings for different types of coffee – espresso, Aeropress, filter coffee, French press and cowboy coffee.
Note: Please note that each coffee grinder varies slightly when it comes to setting.
For espresso, we recommend grinding level 5 as a starting point. Adjust the grind level according to your personal preferences.

Note: The preparation time depends on the method of preparation. The degree of grinding can also influence the preparation time. Try what you like most. The following values can provide a guide.
Normal preparation time for:

Espresso: 20 s.
Filter coffee: 4–6 min.
French Press: 6 min.
Cowboy coffee: 8 min.

COFFEE GRINDING PROCESS

  • Press and release the start button.
  • The button LED lights up white.
  • The mill stops automatically after the grinding process is finished; the white LED flashes (3 times, 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off).
  • After the grinding process has ended, the LED goes out.

Cancel

  • Press and release the start button.
  • The light goes out and the grinding process is stopped.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

If you grind espresso at the finest setting, your machine may stop on certain occasions. If this happens, grind coffee with a coarser setting, for example level 25. Let the remaining coffee run through the grinder and clean the device with a brush. Your device will then be fully usable again.

  •  Never immerse the device in liquids/water or put it in the dishwasher.
  • Clean the scales with a slightly damp cloth. No chemical/ Use abrasive cleaning agents.
  •  Do not clean or carry out any maintenance on the device while the plug is connected to the mains.
  •  The housing, the lid of the coffee bean bowl/scale and the Clean the coffee bean bowl with a dry cloth. Never use a wet or strong chemical cleaning agent.
  • Do not open the product as this will void the purchase guarantee.

SCALE

After switching on, the symbols with white LED backlighting become visible.

Tare Function

  • Place the coffee container on the scale and press tare/unit to tare the scale. For a moment the scale displays “—-”.
  • The scale then returns to operational mode and displays “0.0 g” and.
  • Now the additional weight can be weighed using the scales. If you now e.g. b.

Put 20 g of coffee beans in the container, the display shows “20.0 g”.

Change unit of measurement

  • Press and hold the tare/unit button for 1 second. The value no longer increases is displayed, then the unit of measurement changes. If you continue to hold the button, the unit will change every 0.5 seconds.
  • Confirm your choice by releasing the button. The display shows that a profile was selected.

Automatic shutdown

Note: If you do not add any more items to be weighed, the automatic switch-off will be activated after 3 minutes.

Bluetooth

The scale has an integrated Bluetooth® device. This feature allows the user to remotely read and control the scale from a smartphone (iOS or Android).

To connect the smartphone to the scale, follow the steps below.

  1. Download the “Wilfa SVART” app from the App Store® or Google Play™ down.
  2. Turn on the scale.
  3. Open the app on your smartphone and click on the Bluetooth icon top right.
  4. Select the “Wilfa Svart Scale” and press Connect.

GUARANTEE

Wilfa offers a 5-year guarantee on this product from the date of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing errors or defects that occur during the warranty period. The purchase receipt serves as proof of guarantee. If you want to claim the warranty, contact the store where you purchased the product.

The guarantee only applies to products used in private households. The guarantee  does not apply if the device is used commercially. The guarantee does not apply in the event of misuse or negligent use of the device, failure to follow the instructions provided by Wilfa or if the device has been modified or repaired without authorization. The warranty also does not cover normal wear and tear of the product, misuse, lack of maintenance, use of incorrect voltage or: overloading of the product parts that are subject to normal wear, filters, battery or other parts that  you can expect to be replaced on a regular basis
