Safety instructions WARNINGS

Please take a few minutes to read this instruction manual in order to ensure the adequate safety of your child. Many injuries that are easy to avoid are caused by reckless and improper use of the car seat.

ATTENTION! It is good to have the manual always at hand. We advise you to keep it in a designated place in the storage compartment on the back of the car seat backrest (18).

  • The car seat is designed to be mounted only on forward-facing car seats. The seat must not be mounted on car seats mounted backwards or sideways. ( Fig. A.2 )
    Safety instructions

  • A car seat MUST NOT be placed on seats with an active front air-bag as this could be dangerous. This does not apply to the side air-bags.

  • If the car seat is installed in the front seat, the front air-bag must be deactivated. It is recommended to install the car seat only on the back seats of the car. Please refer to your vehicle operating manual for information on the suitability of the seat for use with a car seat.

  • Before each journey, make sure that the safety harness is correctly adjusted and fits tightly around the child’s body. The safety harness must not be twisted under any circumstances!

  • The car seat is not suitable for installation in vehicles with two -point seat belts or waist belts. The use of this type of seat belts could result in serious or fatal injuries to the child in the event of an accident (Fig. A.3).
    Safety instructions

  • REMEMBER, THE TIGHTER THE SAFETY HARNESS FITS OVER YOUR CHILD’S BODY, THE HIGHER THE SAFETY LEVEL. FOR THIS REASON, CHILD SHOULD NOT WEAR THICK CLOTHES UNDER THE SAFETY HARNESS.

  • The waist belts of the safety harness must run as low as possible across your child’s pelvis to ensure optimum effect in the event of an accident.

  • Only an optimally adjusted headrest can provide your child with maximum protection and comfort, while ensuring that the safety harness is properly adjusted.

  • The Kinderkraft ONETO3 i -Size car seat backrest should be pushed against the backrest of the car seat to provide the best possible protection for your child.

  • The car seat should be replaced when it has been subjected to violent stresses during a traffic accident.

  • The car seat may not be modified in any way without the approval of the relevant approval authority. Failure to install the car seat in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions may pose a threat to life and health.

  • Protect the car seat from direct sunlight, otherwise your child may be burnt by heated parts. Protect your child and car seat from sunlight.

  • Never leave your child unattended in the car seat.

  • Make sure that luggage and other objects are adequately secured, in particular on the shelf under the rear window, as they can cause injuries in the event of a collision.

  • The car seat cannot be used without the cover.

  • The baby insert is designed to protect the child and must be used until the child is 87 cm tall.

  • Do not use replacement covers, other than those recommended by the manufacturer, as they are an integral part of the safety system of the car seat.

  • It is recommended to keep the instruction manual of the car seat throughout its lifetime.

  • Do not use any other attachment points than those described in the instruction manual and marked on the car seat.

  • All hard parts and plastic parts of a car seat must be positioned and installed in such a way that, under normal operating conditions of the vehicle, they could not be trapped by the sliding seat or vehicle door.

  • Regularly check the technical condition of the car seat, pay special attention to the fixing points, seams and adjusting elements. It is important to ensure that all mechanical elements are fully operational. Never grease or oil parts of the car seat.

  • Do not use the car seat if its parts are damaged or loose.

  • In the event of an emergency, it is important to quickly unfasten the seat belts. This means that the release button of the five-point safety harness is not fully secured, make sure your child does not play with the buckle of the five-point safety harness.

  • Set a good example for your child and wear your seat belt at all times. An adult who is not fastened with seat belts can also pose a threat to a child.

  • Make sure that the car seat is correctly fastened before each journey in the car.

  • The car seat must be secured at all times, even when not in use. The car seat that is not fastened can injure the passengers even during emergency braking.

  • On some vehicle seats made of delicate materials, the use of car seats may leave marks and/or discolouration. To prevent this from happening, you can place a blanket, towel or similar product under the car seat.

Securing the child

Insert

The baby insert (3) is its integral part and plays an important role in the functioning of the cat seat. The insert improves comfort and gives extra support for very young children. The extra insert should be used until the child reaches 87 cm (Fig. B.1).

Securing the child

Height of the headrest

A correctly positioned headrest ensures optimal placement of the shoulder part of the vehicle seat belt and provides protection and comfort for your child. The headrest should fit snugly around your child’s head, with the lower part of the headrest at the same height as your child’s shoulders (Fig. B.3).

  • Grasp the headrest adjustment strap (13) located at the top of the headrest (8) and pull it gently upwards (Fig. B.4). The headrest will be unlocked.
    Securing the child

  • You can now adjust the headrest (1) to one of the 12 selected positions to the desired height (Fig. B.5). When the height is adjusted, let go of the adjusting strap (13) and the headrest will be locked.
    Securing the child

IMPORTANT! Make sure the seat headrest is locked in place. Place your child in the car seat and check the height of the headrest. Attention! If necessary, repeat the steps to adjust the headrest height until you reach the optimal height.

ATTENTION! In the case of mounting on car belts: the shoulder belt should pass between the child’s shoulder and neck. The headrest should fit the child’s head well.

Mechanism for adjusting the inclination of the backrest

The inclination angle of the car seat can be adjusted with the lever (12). Pull the lever and then adjust the inclination angle of the seat/backrest (Fig. B.6).

Securing the child

Release the lever in the required position. Move the seat slightly until you hear a clear “click” sound – the seat is secured in one of the 5 possible positions (Fig. B.7).

Securing the child

ATTENTION! It is possible to adjust the inclination of the backrest for children with a height of at least 76-105 cm.

Securing the child with the inner harness straps

  • Loosen the harness straps fully by pressing the button (6) and pulling the harness straps (Fig. B.8).
    Securing the child

  • Undo the buckle (4) and place the harness straps on the sides of the car seat (Fig.B.8). Place the child in the seat (Fig. B.8).

  • Adjust the headrest to the child’s height (see section 4.3).

  • Bring the two buckle latches together to engage them and insert them into the buckle (4) until you hear a “click” (Fig. B.9).

Tightening the harness

  • Pull the shoulder straps to eliminate slack in the waist section, so the harness will lie flat.
  • Tighten the harness with the adjustment strap (7) until the harness lies flat on and close to the child’s body (Fig. B.10).

NOTE The waist harness straps must be positioned as low as possible on the child’s hips. Make sure that the harness straps are not twisted (Fig. B.11).

Installation in the car

In the event of sudden braking or an accident, people not wearing seat belts may injure other passengers.

Always check whether:

  • The seat backrests in the vehicle are locked (i.e. the folding backrest of the rear seat is latched).
  • All heavy and sharp-edged items are secured (e.g. on the rear shelf).
  • All passengers have fastened their seat belts.
  • The car seat is always secured even if the child is not transported in it.

Vehicle protection

The seat covers in some vehicles may be made of delicate materials and the car seat may leave marks on them. They can be avoided by placing a blanket or towel under the car seat.
