Dear customer
Please familiarize yourself with the proper usage of the device by reading and following each chapter of this manual, in the order presented. Keep these operating instructions for further reference.
Please read the enclosed “General safety instructions for power tools” and all additional safety instructions in this operating instructions! This manual contains important information on operating and handling the device. Keep these operating instructions for further reference. Please pass it on along with the unit if it is handed over to a third party. Battery and charger not included! The Maxxpack batteries and chargers are available online and in participating stores.

Explanation of the symbols

The following symbols are used in the user manual or on the product:

CE stands for “Conformité Européenne”, which means “In accordance with EU Regulations”. With the CE marking, the manufacturer confirms that this Electric tool complies with the applicable European directives. UKCA stands for: “UK Conformity Assessment”. This means “Compliant with UK regulations”.
With the UKCA mark manufacturer confirms that this unit complies with the applicable UK regulations.
Do not dispose of electric power tools with domestic refuse.

Additional safety instructions

  • The extension pole is not a toy. Keep the article out of reach of children.
  • Make sure that dirt cannot get into the contacts. Do not insert spiky metallic objects into the contacts.
  • Keep the extension pole from moisture and make sure water cannot get into the contacts.
  • Make sure the multi saw is not touching anything and moving free.
  • Cutting with the multi saw together with the extension pole when standing on a ladder or on any other unstable place is not allowed.
  • Do not stand under the branch you are cutting. Branches may fall without warning. Work at an angle of no more than 60°.
  • Keep in mind that, when using the upper point of the saw, the saw may kick back quite violently.
  • Keep your eyes not only on the branches you are cutting; also permanently observe the ground to prevent tripping over branches that already have fallen down.
  • Do not operate the machine in the vicinity of electrical power lines.
  • Keep bystanders away from the working area. Have sufficient distance to uninvolved persons.
  • When working with the multi saw and the extension pole, always wear safety glasses and gloves. Wear a safety helmet when working with the multi saw, where head injuries are to be expected.
  • To avoid damage to your hearing, always wear hearing protection.
  • Always wear cut-proof and tight-fitting clothes and safety boots.

Before first use

Remove the accessory from the packaging.
Check the machine for transport damage and do not use the accessory in case of damages. Keep the packing materials away from children, risk of suffocation!

Intended use

The extension pole is designed for extending the reach of the multi saw. The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose.

Operation

  1. Slide the multi saw into the extension pole.
  2. Hook the bracket into the saw and fold the lever down to secure the multi sawand the extension pole together.
  3. To remove the multi saw, lift up the bracket and pull out the saw from the extension pole.
  4. Insert the battery into the extension pole.
  5. To switch on the saw, first depress the safety switch (1) and then press the on/ off trigger switch (3) on the handle. To switch off the multi saw, release the trigger.
  6. Please observe the manual of the multi saw.

Accessories

Use only accessories with an allowable speed matching at least the highest no- load speed of the tool.

Maintenance and cleaning

WARNING: Always disconnect from the mains power supply, before carrying out any maintenance/ cleaning of the charger.
Remove the battery before carrying out any maintenance/cleaning of the tool.

Cleaning

  • Clean the extension pole with a dry or lightly moistened cloth only. Keep the contacts free from dust and dirt.
  • Keep safety devices, ventilation openings and the motor housing as free as possible from dirt and dust. Rub the electric power tool with a clean cloth or blow over it with low pressure compressed air.
  • We recommend that you clean your electric power tool immediately after each use.
  • Clean the electric power tool regularly with a damp cloth and somewhat soft soap. Do not use any cleaning or solvent materials; these can attack the device’s plastic components. Make sure that no water can get inside the electric power tool.

Maintenance
There are no inner parts of the tool which need maintenance.
Store the extension pole and the multi saw always out of reach of children and persons in need of supervision.

Disposal

  • Do not dispose of electric power tools with domestic refuse.
  • The electric power tool is shipped in packaging to reduce transport damage.
  • This packaging is a raw material and as such can either be reused or can be fed back into the raw material cycle. The electric power tool and its accessories are made from various materials such as metals and plastics. Take defective components to a special refuse collection point.
  • Ask about these at your specialist shop or local council.

Batteries
Think of the environment when disposing of batteries. Contact your local authorities to find out where your nearest disposal area is.
Do not dispose of batteries with domestic refuse.
Do not dispose of by burning, risk of explosion.
