Before First Use:
- Remove the machine and its accessories from the packaging.

Intended Use: The Pack 18V Cordless Hedge Trimmer is a battery-powered,
portable, light-duty garden tool designed for cutting and trimming soft, new
growth of hedges, bushes, and shrubs. It is not suitable for cutting thicker
branches, hard wood, or other materials.
WARNING: Do not use the device for any other purpose as it may result in
damage to the hedge trimmer or serious injury to the user.
EC-Declaration of Conformity: The device complies with the EC regulations
as stated in the EC Declaration of Conformity provided in the manual.
UK Declaration of Conformity: The device is compliant with the applicable
UK regulations as confirmed by the UKCA mark.
Note: Battery and charger are not included. Maxxpack batteries and
chargers can be purchased online or in participating stores.

Please familiarize yourself with the proper usage of the device by reading and
following each chapter of this manual, in the order presented. Keep these
operating instructions for further reference. Please read the enclosed
“General safety instructions for power tools” and all additional safety
instructions in this operating instructions! This manual contains important
information on operating and handling the device. Keep these operating
instructions for further reference. Please pass it on along with the unit if
it is handed over to a third party.
Battery and charger not included!
The Maxxpack batteries and chargers are available online and in participating
stores.

HEDGE TRIMMER SAFETY
- ALWAYS use adequate protective equipment, including cut-resistant gloves, eye protection, solid shoes and cut-resistant trousers when working with this hedge trimmer.
- DO NOT use the hedge trimmer in the rain or in damp conditions.
- Keep hands and fingers well away from the blades.
- Always hold the hedge trimmer securely with both hands on the handles when working with the device.
- Disconnect the hedge trimmer from the power supply before cleaning, removing obstructions or carrying out maintenance. DO NOT attempt to free a jammed blade before the machine has been disconnected from the power supply.
- Disconnect the hedge trimmer from the power supply immediately when finishing work or if work is interrupted. If you are interrupted when operating the trimmer, complete the process and switch off before turning your attention away from the hedge trimmer.
- This hedge trimmer has been designed to cut soft, new growth and should NOT be used on thick branches, hard wood or for other forms of cutting.
- This product requires the use of two hands to ensure safe operation.
- Never allow untrained users or children use the hedge trimmer.
- Inspect the area to be cut before starting. Remove any objects or debris that could be thrown, jammed or become entangled in the blades.
- Adopt a stable stance always keeping the hedge trimmer in front of your body.
- Grip the front handle bar switch with one hand. With the other hand grip the rear handle and with your fingers squeeze the on/off switch.
- Allow the cutting blades to reach full speed before commencing the cut.
- When cutting always move in a forward direction. Never move backwards while operating the hedge trimmer in case you could fall over unseen obstacles.
- Never work towards people or solid objects such as walls, trees or vehicles etc.
- If the blade stalls during cutting, stop the hedge trimmer immediately and disconnect it from the mains supply before investigating the cause. Remove any jammed debris from the blades and examine them for damage before re-commencing cutting. Always replace any damaged blades.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove the machine and the accessories from the packaging. Check the machine
for transport damage and do not use the machine in case of damages. Keep the
packing materials away from children, risk of suffocation!
INTENDED USE
Battery-powered, portable, light-duty garden tool for cutting and trimming
soft, new growth of hedges, bushes and shrubs. The device is unsuitable for
cutting thicker branches, hard wood or other materials.

risk of damage to the hedge trimmer or serious injury to the user.
UNPACKING YOUR TOOL
- Carefully unpack and inspect your new tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions.
- Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.
OPERATION
- WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
- WARNING: If it is used for any other purpose not expressly permitted by these operating instructions, there may be a risk of damage to the hedge trimmer or serious injury to the user.
- WARNING: DO NOT use the hedge trimmer in the rain or store the hedge trimmer in wet conditions.
- WARNING: Do not let the blade come into contact with fencing wire or any other object that could damage it.
Switching on and off
Note: This hedge trimmer is fitted with a twohand safety switch.
- To switch the hedge trimmer on, press the Safety Bar Switch (4) on the front grip (5) with one hand and the on/off Switch (6) with the other hand.
- To stop the hedge trimmer, move the hedge trimmer away from the cutting area and release either one or both of the switches.
Cutting
WARNING: If the blade stalls during cutting, stop the hedge trimmer immediately and disconnect it from the power supply, before investigating the cause. Then remove any jammed debris from the blades and examine the blades for any damage before recommencing cutting.
- Assume a secure position, using two hands to hold the trimmer, and switch on (see ‘Switching on and off’).
- ALWAYS allow the blade to reach full speed before commencing the cut.
- Always move in a forward direction.
- WARNING: DO NOT move backwards, as you may fall over unseen obstacles. DO NOT cut towards solid objects such as walls, trees or vehicles.
- Trim both sides of the hedge, starting at the bottom.
- Pass the blade lightly through the surface of the hedge. Do not attempt to cut too deep.
- Trim the top of the hedge last.
- Note: For older hedges that require cutting back substantially, use pruning shears or a suitable saw to cut the thicker branches, and then finish the job with the hedge trimmer.
Shaping
- Trim a hedge so that it is wider at the bottom than the top. This improves light penetration and promotes healthy growth.
- Narrow the hedge approximately 100mm for every metre in height.
Pruning
- For optimum trimming performance, guide the blade teeth at an angle of approx. 15° to the hedge.
- To achieve a hedge with a uniform height, it is recommended that you stretch a pieceof string along the edge of the hedge for guidance. Then simply cut away all twigs projecting above the line.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
WARNING: Always disconnect from the mains power supply, before carrying out any maintenance/ cleaning of the charger. Remove the battery before carrying out any maintenance/ cleaning of the tool.
Maintenance
- There are no inner parts of the tool which need maintenance.
Cleaning
- Keep safety devices, ventilation openings and the motor housing as free as possible from dirt and dust. Rub the electric power tool with a clean cloth or blow over it with low pressure compressed air.
- We recommend that you clean your electric power tool immediately after each use.
- Clean the electric power tool regularly with a damp cloth and somewhat soft soap. Do not use any cleaning or solvent materials; these can attack the device’s plastic components. Make sure that no water can get inside the electric power tool.
- The cutters should be cleaned and lubricated at regular intervals in order to ensure best performance at all times. Remove deposits with a brush and apply a thin film of oil.
