Start-up:
Connect the device to a power source. – Ensure that the power voltage matches the specifications mentioned above.

Operations

• Before starting, remove the filter bag and tank.
  Note : Remove the filter bag carefully to avoid spillage.

• Assemble the suction tubes and attach them to the handle.

• Always work with the foam filter in place, both for wet cleaning and wet/dry vacuuming.

• Clean lightly or normally soiled areas using suitable cleaning methods.

• For heavy dirt or stains, pre-clean the area before using the device.

• After cleaning carpets, rinse them with clean water.

• Finish wet cleaning by emptying the water tank.

Shutting Down:

• Turn off the suction.
• Detach the suction hose from the device or from the handle

Maintenance and Care:

• Clean the sieve in the fresh water tank by removing it and rinsing it under clear water.
• Clean the foam filter regularly.
• Replace the filter bag when it is full.
• Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning agents and disposal guidelines.

Proper use
This appliance has been designed for use in private households and is not intended for commercial use.

• By purchasing this appliance you have become the owner of a spray extraction appliance for mainte-nance or basic cleaning of carpeting with a deep cleaning effect.
• With a hard surface insert for the spray-ex floor nozzle (in the scope of delivery) even hard surfaces can be cleaned.
• With the relevant accessories (in the scope of de-livery) it can also be used as a multi-purpose vacu-um cleaner.

Environmental protection

The packaging material can be recycled. Please do not place the packaging into the ordinary re-fuse for disposal, but arrange for the proper re-cycling.
Old appliances contain valuable materials that can be recycled. Please arrange for the proper recycling of old appliances. Safety instructions

Apart from the notes contained herein the general safe-ty provisions and rules for the prevention of accidents of the legislator must be observed.
Any use of the machine in contravention with the follow-ing instructions will lead to warranty claims being ren-dered void.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or lacking experience and/or skills, unless such persons are accompanied and supervised by a per-son in charge of their safety or they have received precise instructions on the use of this appliance and have understood the resulting risks.
• Children must not play with this appliance.
• Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be per-formed by children without supervision.
• Keep packaging film away from children – risk of suffocation!
• Switch the appliance off after every use and prior to every cleaning/maintenance procedure.
• Risk of fire. Do not vacuum up any burning or glow-ing objects.
• The appliance must provide of a stable ground.
• The operator must use the appliance properly. He must consider the local conditions and must pay at-tention to third parties, in particular children, when working with the appliance.
• Check the faultless condition of the appliance and the accessories before using it. Otherwise, the ap-pliance must not be used.
• Never dip the machine, the cable or the plugs in water or other liquids.
• It is not allowed to use the appliance in hazardous locations. If the appliance is used in hazardous ar-eas the corresponding safety provisions must be observed.
• Protect the appliance against external weather, hu-midity and heat sources.
• Should the appliance fall down, it must be check by an authorised after sales service as internal distur-bances could be present, which constrain the safe-ty of the product.
• Do not suck in toxic substances.
• Do not use the machine to vacuum clean plaster of Paris, cement, etc. that can harden on coming into contact with water and can thus hamper the func-tioning of the machine.
• Always place the machine in a horizontal position during operation.
• Only use cleaners recommended by the manufac-turer and comply with their application, disposal and warning guidelines.

DANGER

• Only connect the appliance to properly earthed sockets.
• The appliance may only be connected to alternat-ing current. The voltage must correspond with the type plate on the appliance.
• Never touch the mains plug and the socket with wet hands.
• Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling on the connecting cable.
• Turn off the appliance and remove the mains plug prior to any care and maintenance work.
• Repair works may only be performed by the author-ised customer service.
• Check the power cord with mains plug for damage before every use. To avoid risks, arrange immedi-ately the exchange by an authorized customer ser-vice or a skilled electrician, if the power cord is damaged.
• To avoid accidents due to electrical faults we rec-ommend the use of sockets with a line-side current-limiting circuit breaker (max. 30 mA nominal trip-ping current).
• Only use a splash proof extension cable with a min-imum section of 3×1 mm².
• If couplings of the power cord or extension cable are replace the splash protection and the mechan-ical tightness must be ensured.
• Please switch off the machine first using the main switch before disconnecting the machine from the mains.
• Immediately switch off the appliance or pull the mains plug in case of formation of foam or fluid es-cape!

WARNING
Do not use abrasives, glass or universal cleaners! Nev-er immerse the appliance in water.
Certain materials may produce explosive vapours or mixtures when agitated by the suction air!
Never vacuum up the following materials:

• Explosive or combustible gases, liquids and dust particles (reactive dust particles)
• Reactive metal dust particles (such as aluminium, magnesium, zinc) in combination with highly alka-line or acidic detergents
• Undiluted, strong acids and alkalies
• Organic solvents (such as petrol, paint thinners, ac-etone, heating oil).
• In addition, these substances may cause the appli-ance materials to corrode.

Before Startup

• Remove the fresh water reservoir. Press the re-lease and remove the tank.
  Note:
  The motor casing can only be removed if the fresh water reservoir was removed first.

• Remove the motor casing. For this, fold the car-rying handle forward to unlatch the reservoir. Re-move the accessories and swivel casters from the reservoir.

• Turn the container, press in the steering roller in the openings at the base of the container till the end-point.

• Turn the motor casing around and attach the foam filter to the filter basket.
• Insert the filter cover and turn to lock.
• Install the motor casing. Pull up on the carrying handle to lock.

• Install the fresh water reservoir. Insert the bot-tom part first and then press toward the top on the motor compartment to check if it is locked in.

• Slide the spray handle onto the handle until it locks into place.
• Attach the spray hose of the spray handle to the suction hose using 7 mounting clips.
• Attach the suction hose and the spray hose to the connectors on the appliance.
  Note : Press the suction hose tightly into the connector to lock it into place.

• Connect the suction tubes and attach to the handle.
• Insert the loose spray hose in the spray handle and attach to the suction tubes using the 3 included mounting clips.
• Attach the floor nozzle to the suction tubes and in-sert the spray hose into the floor nozzle. Rotate the exterior safety lever and lock the spray hose into place.
  The appliance is now prepared for wet cleaning.

• For the installation of the spray-ex manual nozzle the enclosed adapter must be connected and locked between the spray-ex manual nozzle for up-holstery cleaning and the handle.

Operations

ATTENTION
Always work with an inserted foam filter – during wet cleaning as well as wet and dry vacuum cleaning.

Wet cleaning of carpets/hard surfaces

ATTENTION

• Check the object to be cleaned prior to using the appli-ance in an inconspicuous place for colour fastness and water resistance.
• Do not clean water-sensitive floor coverings such as wood floors (the moisture could penetrate and damage the floor).

Note:
Warm water (max. 50°C) will increase the cleaning ef-fect.

Wet cleaning of carpeted floors

• With spray-ex floor nozzle without hard surface at-tachment.

Please only use the carpet cleaner RM 519.

Wet cleaning of hard surfaces

• With spray-ex floor nozzle with hard surface attach-ment.

Slide the attachment for hard surfaces onto the side of the spray-ex floor nozzle. The squeegee points towards the front, the brush strip towards the back.

Fill up fresh water reservoir
Note: You can remove the water reservoir to fill it or you can fill it directly on the appliance.

• Flip the reservoir cover up.
• Add 100 – 200 ml (volume depends on degree of contamination) of RM 519 into the fresh water res-ervoir, then add tap water – do not overfill.
• Close the reservoir cover.

Start working

• Insert the mains plug into the socket.
• Press the switch for suction (position I), suction tur-bine is running.

• Close fully the surrounding air separator at the han-dle.

• Press the switch for spraying (position I), the deter-gent pump is ready.
• Use the lever on the spray handle to spray on de-tergent solution.
• Run across the surface to be cleaned in overlap-ping paths. Pull the nozzle backwards (do not push).

Emptying the reservoir during operation
Note: If the container is full, a float closes the suction opening, and the appliance works at a higher speed. Switch off the appliance immediately, and empty the container.

• Switch the appliance off by pressing the switch for suction and spraying (position 0).
• Remove the accessories and the fresh water reser-voir and unlatch the motor casing.
• Remove the motor casing and empty the reservoir.

Cleaning tips/mode of operation

• Always work from the light to the shade (from the window to the door).
• Always work from the cleaned to the uncleaned surface.
• Rugs with jute backing can shrink if too much water is used and can bleed colours.
• Brush high-fiber rugs in the direction of the weave after cleaning (using a fiber brush or a scrubber).
• Water-proofing the fabric using Care Tex RM 762 after the wet cleaning prevents a quick resoiling of the textile surface.
• Do not step on cleaned surfaces until they have dried and do not place furniture on them to avoid pressure spots or rust stains.

Cleaning methods

Light/normal contamination

• Turn on suction and spraying (position I).
• Spray and simultaneously suction off detergent solution in one work cycle.
• Switch off the spray switch and suction off the remaining cleaning solution.
• After cleaning the carpets, reclean them using clear, warm water and waterproof if needed.

Heavy soiling or stains

• Switch on sprayer (position I).
• Apply detergent solution and allow to react for 5 minutes (vacuuming is switched off).
• Clean the surface just like you would with light/normal soiling.
• After cleaning the carpets, reclean them using clear, warm water and waterproof if needed.

End wet cleaning process

• Rinse the spray tubes in the appliance as follows:
  Fill the detergent container with about 1 liter of clear water.
  Hold the nozzle above the drain, and switch on the spraying pump until the clear water has been consumed.

Use as multi-purpose vacuum cleaner

Note
To use the device as a multi-purpose vacuum cleaner,
the spray handle and the spray hose can be removed.

• Remove the spray hoses and mounting clips from the suction hose and suction tubes.
• Press the two locking noses on the sides and pull the spray handle off the handle.

ATTENTION
Always ensure that the filter bag is inserted for dry vacuuming.
Better filtration can be achieved by using a cartridge filter (special accessories).
Container and accessories must be dry, otherwise, dirt may adhere.

• Select the desired accessories and attach to the suction pipes or directly to the handle.

Vacuuming hard surfaces

• Insert the hard surface inlay into the floor nozzle.
  The bristles should point towards the front.

Vacuuming carpeted floors

•  Work without the hard surface insert.

Note:
Close the surrounding air separator again after use!

Vacuuming up water
ATTENTION
Do not use a filter bag!
Note : If the container is full, a float closes the suction opening, and the appliance works at a higher speed.
Switch off the appliance immediately, and empty the container.

• Attach the accessories to vacuum moisture or wetness to the suction tubes or directly to the handle.
• Switch on suction (position I).

• Open the sliding air regulator when vacuuming up larger quantities of water. Close it again after use.
• Empty the full reservoir (refer to chapter “Empty reservoir”).

Shutting down

• Turn off the appliance.

• Empty the full reservoir (refer to chapter “Empty reservoir”).

• Rinse the reservoir thoroughly with clear water.

• Remove the accessories from the appliance after each use and disassemble the hose, nozzle and extension tubes.
  Note : Possibly remaining water can drip out, there-fore you should place these into the shower or bathtub.

• Flush the accessories separately under running water and let air dry.

• Clean the foam filter under running water; let it dry before reinserting it.

• Leave the appliance open to let it dry.

• Storing the appliance. Store the accessories on the appliance and store in dry rooms.

Maintenance and Care

Cleaning the device
With an uneven spray jet.

• Loosen nozzle attachment and pull out, clean or re-place spray nozzle.

Clean the sieve in the fresh water reservoir

1 x year or as needed.

• Turn the lock and loosen it. Take out the sieve and rinse it with water.

Faults

No water exiting from nozzle

• Fill up fresh water reservoir.
• Check the fresh water reservoir for correct fit.
• Detergent pump defective, contact customer ser-vice.

Spray stream uneven

• Clean the spray nozzle of the spray ex floor nozzle.

Insufficient vacuum performance

• Close the surrounding air separator at the handle. See diagram 11
• Accessories, suction hose or suction tubes are clogged, please remove the obstruction.
• Filter bag is full: Insert new filter bag.
• Cleaning the foam filter.

Detergent pump noisy

• Fill up fresh water reservoir.

Appliance is not running

• Plug in the mains plug.
• The overheat alarm has been triggered, please al-low appliance to cool down.
