EBECO F-10 Splice Kit
Product Information
The product is a splice kit, specifically designed for use with F-10, T-18, and T-18 CT cables. It is used for joining cables together and ensuring proper insulation and connection.
Product Usage Instructions
- Slide both shrink tubings provided onto the cables. Use 1 piece of 12 mm shrink tubing with a length of 180 mm and 1 piece of 9 mm shrink tubing with a length of 110 mm.
- Strip off 60 mm of the outer sheath of the cable, and cut away the earth, leaving a maximum of 10 mm.
- Twist the earth wire and secure it in place with an uninsulated terminal.
- Strip away 30 mm of the inner insulation from the cable.
- Make 2 cuts in the semi-conductor material leading to the conductors.
- Pull the conductors apart or cut between them.
- Slide on both 3 mm shrink tubings and then the 9 mm shrink tubing, following the illustration provided. The 9 mm shrink tubing should be 15 mm long.
- Heat the shrink tubings with a hot air gun, and then squeeze them together between the conductors using a flat plier.
- Strip 6 mm off the conductors.
- Repeat steps 2 to 9 with the other cable.
- Splice the cables together using the insulated shrink-tubing terminals. Heat the splice with a hot air gun so that the shrink tubings shrink and the adhesive is pressed out.
- Pull 9 mm of shrink tubing over the splice and heat it. Use a piece of 9 mm shrink tubing with a length of 110 mm.
- Insulation test the cable, ensuring a minimum of 10 M resistance.
- Always heat the shrink tubings until the adhesive is pressed out. Do not lay a spliced cable inside a water pipe.
- Wrap electrical tape over the splice to make it even.
- Pull 12 mm of shrink tubing over the splice and heat it. Use a piece of 12 mm shrink tubing with a length of 180 mm.
