  7. Before connecting, make sure that the plate data corresponds with the mains electrical supply. The data plate is located on the appliance.

  8. Install it according to the manufacturer’s instructions An incorrect installation can cause damage to people, animals or property for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility.

  9. Always and only use it in a horizontal position. Position the appliance in an appropriate environment.

  10. Always unreel the cable completely during use.

  11. The appliance is equipped with a power cord with plug (Y-type connection). If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, his technical service or a similarly qualified person in order to eliminate all possible risks.

  12. Install it in such a way that the switches and other controls cannot be reached by persons using the bath or shower.

  13. Do not use extensions, if not with particular care. Keep the appliance at a distance of at least 1m from other objects (fig. B).

    • 14a. To avoid the risk of fire, keep the outlets and air intakes of the appliance at a distance of at least 1 m from any object, curtains, tissues or flammable materials.
  14. Do not place appliance close to a radiant heat source.

  15. Do not use the appliance to dry clothes.

  16. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the appliance.

  17. Do not allow cord to come in contact with heated surfaces during operation.

  18. Do not run cord under carpeting, throw rugs or runners etc. Arrange cord away from traffic areas so that it will not be tripped over.

  19. Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause the insulation to weaken and split.

  20. This appliance heats up slightly when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.

  21. Do not use this appliance outdoors, or on wet surfaces.

  22. Do not use this heater with programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on automatically since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

  23. Make these instructions known to all the personnel involved in transport and installation of the appliance.

  25. Avoid spilling liquid on the appliance.

  26. Children must not play with equipment.

  27. The appliance may be used by children over 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or without the required experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved.

  28. Children must not be allowed to clean the appliance or perform user maintenance without proper supervision.

  29. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

  30. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  31. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

  32. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

  33. Some parts of this product may become very hot and could cause burns. Be very careful when children or vulnerable adults are nearby.

  34. Always remove plug from the mains supply before cleaning.

  35. For correct use of the appliance NEVER:

    • Place it immediately underneath a mains wall socket.
    • Pull the power cable or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the mains socket.
    • Leave it expose to atmospheric agents (rain, sun, etc.).
    • Leave it plugged in when not in use.
    • Touch it with wet or damp hands.
  36. Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

  37. The most common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning air vents and grilles.

  38. Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Clean with a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only.

  39. Do not connect the appliance to the mains voltage until completely assembled and adjusted.

  40. During installation and maintenance, respect the precau-tions indicated in the manual, and on the labels applied in-side the units, as well as all the precautions suggested by good sense and by the safety regulations in effect in your country.

  41. Do not immerse the appliance in water or in other liquids. Short circuits or fires may occur.

  42. Do not let the appliance work in enclosed areas such as a cabinet since it could cause a fire.

  43. If the appliance’s plug is incompatible with the socket, have the socket replaced with a suitable one by a qualified technician, who must ascertain that the section of the socket cables is compatible with the power absorbed by the appliance. We do not recommend using adaptors and/or extension cables. If they cannot be avoided, however, they must comply with current safety regulations and their ampacity (A) must not be below the maximum ampacity of the appliance.

  44. Do not use the appliance in case of malfunctioning or faults, if the cord or plug are damaged, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Turn the appliance off, disconnect the plug from the socket and let it be checked by professionally qualified personnel.

  45. Disassembly, repair or reconversion performed by an unauthorized person could cause heavy damages and will cancel the manufacturer warranty.

  46. Neither disassemble nor modify the appliance.

  47. Repairing the appliance by yourself is extremely dangerous.

  48. In the presence of gas leaks from other equipment, ventilate the room well before activating the appliance.

  49. Do not remove plug from power socket until the appliance has been switched off.

  50. If you no longer wish to use this appliance, it must be made inoperative by cutting the power supply cable after removing the plug from the power socket.

  51. WARNING – In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

  52. Hazardous parts of the appliance must be rendered harmless, especially as there is a risk of children playing with it.

  53. At first use and after a long period of inactivity of the appliance, a slight noise may be heard and a slight odour may be smelled. It is a normal phenomenon which will disappear after a few minutes of operation.
    PROPER USE

  54. The appliance should be used for the exclusive purpose of producing hot air for the sole purpose of obtaining a com-fortable temperature in the room.

  55. This appliance is only designed for domestic use or similar, not for commercial or industrial use.

  56. Improper use of the appliance with possible damages caused to people, things or animals releases OLIMPIA SPLENDID from any responsibility.

  57. Control the appliance functions ONLY with the supplied re-mote controller.

  58. The appliance is equipped with a special function, activated by the user as required, which allows to detect the possible opening of a window and force the functioning in Anti frost mode to limit waste of energy. This product is CE marked to denote compliance with Directives 2014/35/UE (Low Voltage), 2014/30/UE (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 2014/53/UE (Radio Equipment Directive).
    UNINTENDED AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS USE

  59. Do not use the appliance in areas in which are used or stored petrol, varnishes or other flammable liquids or in environments with the presence of flammable or explosive gases.

  60. Do not use the appliance if insecticide gas has just been sprayed in the room or in the presence of burning incenses, chemical vapours or oily residues.

  61. Do not use this appliance in small rooms occupied by persons which are not able to leave it autonomously unless constant supervision is supplied.

This product must be used exclusively according to the specifications indicated in this manual. Use different to that specified, could cause serious injuries. THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT LIABLE FOR INJURY/DAMAGE TO PERSONS/OBJECTS DERIVING FROM FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REGULATIONS CONTAINED IN THIS MANUAL.

INSTALLATION

  • After removing the packaging, make sure of the appliance integrity; in case of doubts, do not use it and please refer to professionally qualified personnel.
  • The appliance must be installed on a masonry or made of heat resistant material wall (not wooden or made of easily overheatable synthetic material).

The appliance must be installed:

  • • in such a way as to prevent the ON/OFF switch and the buttons from being touched by who is standing in the bathtub or in the shower.
    • At a distance of at least 300 mm from walls
    • At a distance of at least 1000 mm from flammable materials (cur-tains, textiles etc.)

  • • DO NOT install the appliance beneath power outlets.
    • Prepare a power outlet in the vicinity of the appliance making sure it’s not too far in relation to the power cord length (figure C).

    • a. Locate the area where the appliance is going to be installed.
      b. Create two due 6mm holes with a centres distance of 315mm (figure D).
  • The holes must be at least 2000mm away from the floor 350mm from the ceiling (figure D).

  • When piercing the wall, make sure that no electrical channels or water hoses are present.

    • c. Insert the wall plugs in the holes and then fasten the supplied screws.

      Make sure that the screws are well steady in the wall.

    • e. Place the slots (X) on the rear part of the appliance on the screws pushing the appliance itself against the wall (figure F – phase 1).

    • g. Lastly, check that the appliance is steady and well attached to the wall.OLIMPIA-SPLENDID-Caldo-UP-T-WIFI-Ceramic-Wall-Heater-fig- \(4\)

  • Before connecting the appliance plug to the power outlet, make sure that the voltage values indicated on the data plate corre-spond to the mains supply ones and that the outlet is equipped with an efficient grounding.

  • The socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be removed easily in an emergency.

    • i. Press “I” (ON) on the switch (6); the appliance is ready for use.

This product has a flap that opens automatically when the product is turned on and closes automatically when turned off. DO NOT MOVE THE FLAP WITH YOUR HANDS. As this could damage or deform the unit. Open the flap with your hands only if it accidentally closes in part or in whole.

REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS BUTTONS

A remote control to ease the settings and the functions of the appliance is supplied. At each pressure of a button of the remote control, the appliance emits a “beep” to report the signal reception. In order to use the appliance it is necessary to press the switch on the right side of the appliance on “I” (ON) (position 6 – figure X).

  • ON/OFF button

    • Press this button to switch the appliance on; the FAN LED turns on, the appliance starts in FAN mode and the flap opens.
    • Press it again to switch the appliance off.
  • Operation mode selection button

    • Press this button to select the desired functioning mode
    • Minimum power (LOW) > Maximum power (HIGH) > FAN (FAN)
  • Flap button (SWING)
    Press this button to adjust air direction.

  • Switching off delay button
    Press this button to confirm/cancel the appliance switching-off delay.

  • ECO mode button (temperature setting)
    Press this button to set the desired temperature. After pressing the button, set the temperature with buttons and (range: 18°C÷45°C).

  • Setting values increase/decrease buttons

USE OF THE REMOTE CONTROL

The remote control supplied with the appliance is the instrument that will allow you to use the appliance in the most comfortable way possible. It should be handled with care and in particular:

  • Keep it dry (do not clean it with water or leave it out- doors in bad weather).
  • Avoid dropping or bumping it.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight.
  • The remote control operates by means of an infrared beam.
  • Avoid obstacles between the remote control and the appliance during use.
  • If other appliances in the room have remote controls (TV, stereo, etc…), there may be interference.
  • Electronic and fluorescent lights may interfere with the transmissions between remote control and appliance.
  • Remove the batteries in case of prolonged disuse of the remote control.
  • Remove the battery disconnection pull tab from the remote control so that it is operational.

Insertion of batteries

The batteries are supplied with the machine. To insert the batteries correctly:

  • Press the lateral pull tab and extract the battery support from the remote control body.
  • Place the battery in the support with symbol “+” facing upwards.
  • Correctly insert the battery support in the specific slot by pushing it all the way in.

Check the polarity indicated on the bottom of the compartment.

Replacement of batteries
Replace the batteries when you no longer hear a beep from the appliance when pressing any key on the remote control.

  • Always use new batteries. The use of old or different batteries could generate malfunctioning of the remote control.

The remote controller uses a 3,0V lithium battery (type CR 2025).

When replacing batteries, replace both and dispose of the dead batteries in the appropriate collection centres and as required by law.

  • If the remote control is not used for several weeks or longer, remove the batteries. Any leaks from the batteries could damage the remote control. Do not re-charge or disassemble the batteries. Do not throw the batteries into the fire. They can burn and explode.

Location of the remote control
Keep the remote control in a position from which the signal can reach the receiver of the appliance (maximum distance is approx. 8 metres – with charged batteries). The presence of obstacles (furniture, curtains, walls, etc.) between the remote control and the appliance reduces the remote control range.

FUNCTIONING

Fan mode
While using this mode, the appliance doesn’t exert any action neither on temperature nor on air humidity in the room. When pressing the ON/OFF button, the appliance starts in this mode. The FAN LED on the appliance display turns on.

Minimum power heating mode

  • With the appliance on in fan mode, press a key to activate the minimum heating power.
  • In addition to the FAN LED, the LOW LED also switches on on the appliance display.

Maximum power heating mode
With the appliance on in minimum power mode, press the key twice to activate the maximum heating power. In addition to the FAN LED, the HIGH LED also switches on the appliance display (and the LOW LED switches off).

  • It is also possible to activate this mode through the START/STOP button on the back of the appliance (pos. 12 – figure X). Press button START/STOP again and the unit switches to STAND-BY mode (and switching off occurs as described in the next paragraph).
  • If one of the heating modes has been activated, press the ON/OFF button to turn the appliance off, the FAN LED starts flashing and the display starts the 30 seconds countdown after which the appliance turns off (as well as the FAN LED).

ECO mode (temperature setting)

  • Ambient temperature is shown on the display when the appliance is turned on. When the appliance is on, pressing the button will cause the temperature value to flash and the set temperature value to be shown.
  • Within 5 seconds, press the buttons and to set the desired temperature (range: 18°C÷45°C – 1°C variations). To confirm the setting, please wait 5 seconds; the display goes back to show ambient temperature.
  • If the set temperature is slightly higher than the ambient one (+1÷2°C), the minimum power heating function activates automatically (FAN and LOW LEDs turned on).
  • If the set temperature is greatly higher than the ambient one (>3°C), the maximum power heating function activates automatically (FAN and HIGH LEDs turned on).
  • If the set temperature is lower than ambient temperature, the appliance ends heating function, after 30 seconds the fan stops (LOW and HIGH LEDs flashing) and flap oscillation stops (LED flashing).
  • The set temperature can be changed at any moment during functioning.

Switching off delay mode

  • Press the button when the appliance is functioning to activate and set the switching off delay mode; the TIMER LED on the appliance display turns on and the value is shown.
  • Press the button once or more to set the desired delay (from 1 to 8 hours) after which the unit will turn off.
  • Wait approximately 5 seconds without pressing any button: the delay will be set and the TIMER LED will turn on the display.
  • After confirming the activation of the timer, it is possible to change the functioning mode at any moment by pressing the button . Once the set time has passed, the unit will turn off. To cancel the delayed switching off, press the button , and the unit will switch to standby mode or, as alternatively, repeat the setting procedure of the delay, entering the value .
  • It is possible to set the desired delay until the hours numeric symbol flashes. Once setting is over, after 5 seconds, the numeric value stop flashing and it is automatically memorized. Is it’s desired to further change the delay time, it’s necessary to repeat the operation from the beginning.
  • The weekly timer and this function can be set at the same time.

Flap functioning
When the appliance is on, pressing the button will cause the flap to start oscillating. If it is desired to stop the flap in a certain position to direct the air flow, press the button again when the flap is oriented as desired. Press the button one more time to start the flap oscillation again.

Weekly Timer mode
This function can only be activated through the app.

Wi-Fi function
To activate this function, switch on the appliance; ambient temperature is shown on the display and the “WIFI” LED blinks waiting for connection to the device. When the device is connected to the appliance, the “WIFI” LED remains steady. To deactivate this function, keep key START/STOP (11) pressed for approximately 3 seconds until the appliance emits a Beep and the “WIFI” LED flashes.

The instructions for connection to the WiFi network and for use of the App are available on the website www.olimpiasplendid.com in the download area.

Window/Door open function
If enabled, the WINDOW/DOOR OPEN function allows the appliance to detect an abnormal amount of cold air in the room. In this condition, when the appliance is in heating mode or in set temperature mode (the function is cannot be activated in functioning as fan), if it detects an ambient temperature reduction by a few degrees, the function activates.

  • Each time the appliance is electrically connected, the WINDOW/DOOR OPEN function is deactivated.

If this function is disabled, the appliance works normally.
Temperature detection starts 1 minute after the open window/door detection. The function activates with a round which lasts 10 minutes and every 5 minutes the appliance detects ambient temperature to check if the window/door has been closed.

If, during the checks, the appliance detects:

  • a difference of ≤8°C compared to ambient temperature, it keeps heating and the open window/door detection continues,
  • a difference of >8°C compared to ambient temperature, it stops heating and switches to stand-by mode and the open window/door detection stops.

This function can only be activated through the app.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

  • This heater is protected with overheat protection that switches off the appliance automatically in case of severe overheating.
    In this case:

    • unplug the appliance;
    • wait about 15/20 minutes for it to cool;
    • remove any possible cause of overheating, eg. something covering the heater;
    • check for damage to the appliance, the cord and the plug.
  • If there is no damage:

    • plug the unit back in;
    • switch it on as described above.

If the heater still does not turn on, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation on the appliance, switch it off by setting the ON/OFF switch (6) to “O”. Disconnect the plug from the power outlet and wait for the hot parts to cool down.

  • Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance.
  • If the appliance is very dirty, it is possible to use a cloth dampened with warm water (max 50°C) and a mild detergent to clean its external parts. Dry with a dry cloth (fig. L).
  • Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the air inlet/outlet grids.
  • Make sure the appliance is completely dry before reconnecting the plug to the power socket.
  • Do not use a chemically treated or antistatic cloth to clean the appliance.
  • Do not use petrol, solvents, polishing pastes or similar. These products could break or deform the plastic surface.
  • Do not use oils, chemical substances or abrasive products to clean the appliance.
  • Neither wash nor immerse the appliance with/in water.

PRESERVATION OF THE APPLIANCE

  • If you do not intend to use the appliance for a particularly long period of time or if operations which could produce a lot of dust must be performed, it is advised to store the appliance as follows:
    • Switch the appliance off and disconnect the plug from the power socket.
    • Store in a fresh and dry place away from humidity.
