Product Usage Instructions

Precautions

This product should be installed by a registered electrician in accordance with local standards and electrical regulations. Ensure to disconnect power before starting the installation. Check if the voltage indicated on the rating label corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

Service & Operation

Normal Operation: The green indicator light on the front of the unit stays on. The LED will go out if the mains supply fails, if the internal charger malfunctions, or if the unit is in test mode.
Battery: Battery maintenance and replacement should be done by a qualified technician. Batteries should be recycled.
Test Switch: When pressed, the unit LED indicator light will go out and the sign will operate from its battery supply.

Installation

1. Dispart mounting plate

   • Insert a flat screwdriver into the slot on the side of unit, pry off and remove the mounting plate from the unit.
   • Disconnect AC connector from PCBA.

2. 2. Wall surface mount or ceiling mount

   • Knock out appropriate centre cable entry hole and mounting screw hole on the mounting plate.
   • Route AC supply wire through centre hole of mounting plate.
   • Fix mounting plate on the mount surface with screws and anchor nuts.

3. Wiring connection
   Suitable cable 0.75-2.5 mm²
   Connect the AC supply wire to termi-nal block. Refer to the wiring instruc- tions below.

4. Connect battery
   Connect battery male and female con-nector inside of mounting bracket.

5. Change pictogram if necessary
   Remove the pictogram on the unit, select another pictogram that you need, then insert into slot of panel.

6. Finish installation
   Snap AC supply on PCBA and then snap fixture to mounting plate.

WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

• Maintained Wiring (default)
  Connect L, N and leave jumper cable connected.

• Non-Maintained Wiring
  Connect L, N and remove jumper cable.

MOUNTING OPTIONS

AUTOMATIC TEST OPTION
Once the unit is powered up it will automatically initiate a self test. The self test will check the func-tion of the luminaire and indicate its status as follows:

• Every 4 seconds: Checks for battery disconnection, charge board fault, lamp failure and trans-former failure.
• Every month: Performs a 3 minute duration test.
• Every year: Performs a 3 hour duration test.

All test functions are factory preset and do not need field adjustment.
Dual Colour Indicator LED Status Meanings:

NOTE: After repairing a service fault, press and hold the test button for 2 seconds to reset the flash-ing indicator light to green.
