Assembly instructions

The rear pannier adapters are mounted to the rear rack rail and a mounting point above the rear wheel nut. The following instructions guide you through assembling the rear pannier adapter safely to your bicycle.

Removing the rear wheel may not be necessary for assembling the rear pannier adapter but could make installation easier for some. Please see the User Manual for more information on wheel removal and replacement.
Assembly instructions

  1. Insert a M5 X 35 mm bolt (B) and M5 washer (C) through the adapter block (G) and adapter arm, place an M5 washer (C) and M5 nut (D) on the bolt and hand tighten.
  2. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side of the adapter.

Ensure that the blocks are installed on the OUTSIDE of the rack and oriented with the raised ridge on top and facing toward the rails.
Assembly instructions
Mounting on the dropout mount

  1. Insert and rotate two T-nuts into either side of the rack rail with the flat side facing outward.

  2. The optional T-nut fixing screws (F) may be installed to keep T-nuts from sliding during assembly or keep the T-nuts in the correct location after removing your accessory. The fixing screws are intended to make removing and reinstalling the pannier adapter faster and easier and do not add strength.

  3. Place the and align the adapter against the rail and the dropout mount, then Insert a 16 mm x M5 bolt (H) through the adapter block and thread it into the T-nut.

  4. Install a large washer (J) onto the M6 threaded stud (I) and insert it through the dropout mounting hole from the inside.

  5. Install an M6 washer (L) onto the M6 bolt (K) and insert it through the lower adapter mount hole and the frame mount into the stud. You may need to slide the pannier adapter forward or backward on the rack rail to align it correctly.

  6. Using the small torque wrench and 4 mm hex bit, torque the dropout bolt and stud to 8 Nm / 71 in-lbf. A second 4 mm hex key may be needed to keep the threaded stud from turning.

  7. Using the small torque wrench with a 4 mm hex bit and an 8 mm flat wrench, torque the 25 mm side adapter mounting bolts to 6.2 Nm / 55 in-lbf.

  8. Using the small torque wrench with a 4 mm hex bit, torque the 14 mm front adapter mount bolt to 6.2 Nm / 55 in-lbf.
CAUTION: The order of the bolt torques outlined in the manual is critical to proper rack alignment.

  9. Repeat all the steps on the opposite pannier adapter.

Globe Haul LT alternate mounting positions
Mounting positions

On the Globe Haul LT, there are two alternative mounting tabs (1-2) on either side of the rear axle (2). When mounting to these locations you will need to use the M5 x 18 mm bolt instead of the M6 bolt and threaded stud. z Install the upper mounts as described in steps 1-5 in either the rear or front position (1-2)

  • Align the lower adapter mounting hole with the rear or front chainstay mounting tab hole.
  • Insert the M5 x 18 mm bolt (M) through the adapter mount and into the chainstay tab, then using the small torque wrench and 4 mm hex bit, torque the bolt to 6.2 Nm / 55 in-lbf.
  •  Follow steps 9-11 to complete the assembly

WARNING! The Globe pannier adapter is intended for use on Globe bicycles only.

WARNING! Pannier and racks, especially when loaded, affect the handling of your bicycle by altering the center of gravity, weight, and balance. When installing and loading the Globe pannier adapter, ensure the accessories are evenly spaced and loaded. Before your first ride, you should practice riding in a controlled environment with the pannier adapter fully loaded.

WARNING! Before each ride, ensure the pannier adapters are securely installed and any accessory is securely attached. Loose components or cargo could cause you to lose control and fall.

**WARNING**! Do not attach any cargo to the bicycle that could interfere with passing traffic, obstacles, or pedestrians.

WARNING! Never exceed the maximum allowed cargo weight for your bicycle/fork or the rack’s maximum allowed cargo weight limit. However, the weight limit of the accessory may be lower. Always adhere to the lower of the weight limits of either the rack or the accessory. See the table for the Globe bicycle racks and fork weight limit guidelines. The maximum weight for the pannier adapter is 8kg / 18 lbs.

WARNING! The Globe pannier adapter is tested for safety and compatibility with Specialized panniers. Use of third-party accessories is at your own risk.

On the Globe Haul LT, make sure the pannier adapters are installed symmetrically on the right and left side of the bicycle.

WARNING! Never attach any bags, equipment, or objects onto your bicycle that may interfere with the handling of your Globe bicycle, causing you to lose control and fall and resulting in severe injury or death. Make sure all accessories are properly installed and secured.

Pedal and Heal Clearance

Pedal and Heal Clearance

  • Assemble the pannier onto the adapter rail attached to the rear rack according to the manufacturer’s instructions, then position the pannier bags making sure there is sufficient space between the storage system and pedals.
  • Test your heal clearance to ensure the storage system position does not interfere with pedaling.
