Product Information

The Samsung cable box is designed to work with non-HD TVs. It allows you to connect your cable service to your TV and enjoy your favorite channels.

The cable box features various ports and connectors, including:

  • Cable In port: Connects the coaxial cable from the wall outlet to the cable box.
  • CH3/4 out port: Connects the cable box to your TV using a coaxial cable.
  • Video Out, SPDIF, LAN, Cable Card, 1394, HDTV, S-Video, HDMI, USB, E SATA, and Audio Out ports: Additional ports for connecting other devices or audio/video equipment.
  • Power port: Connects the power cord to the cable box.
  1. Disconnect
    Disconnect everything from your existing cable box.

  2. Connect the cable box
    Connect the open end of your coaxial cable from the wall outlet to the Cable In port on the back of the cable box.optimum-Cable-Box-with-non-HD-TV-fig-

  3. Connect the cable box to your TV
    Connect a coaxial cable to the VHF/UHF or Antenna in port on the back of your TV. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the CH3/4 out port on the back of the cable box.optimum-Cable-Box-with-non-HD-TV-fig-

  4. Connect the power
    Plug the power cord into the back of the cable box . Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.optimum-Cable-Box-with-non-HD-TV-fig-

  5. Turn on your TV
    Turn on your TV and using your TV’s remote (not the Optimum remote) go to channel 3 or 4 on your TV to get a signal.

  6. Activate
    Activation will begin automatically and take several minutes to complete. Once your service is activated, the box will show the current time on the front display.optimum-Cable-Box-with-non-HD-TV-fig- \(4\)

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Disconnect everything from your existing cable box.
  2. Connect the open end of your coaxial cable from the wall outlet to the Cable In port on the back of the cable box.
  3. Connect a coaxial cable to the VHF/UHF or Antenna in port on the back of your TV. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the CH3/4 out port on the back of the cable box.
  4. Plug the power cord into the back of the cable box. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  5. Turn on your TV and use your TV’s remote (not the Optimum remote) to go to channel 3 or 4 to get a signal.
  6. The activation process will begin automatically and may take several minutes to complete. Once activated, the box will display the current time on the front LED screen.
