READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING.
We strongly recommend that all direct-wired lighting products be installed by a licensed electrician. Two people may be required for installation. DO NOT EXCEED the rated bulb wattage. Keep flammable materials away from bulb. This light fixture is shipped with all internal wiring intact. Do not open the product or alter the wiring in any manner. Installation requires an electrical junction box in the ceiling sufficient to support the weight of the light fixture. This fixture weighs: 20.5 lb. (9 kg).
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not use the power cord to support the weight of the chandelier.
- This fixture has been rated for up to FIVE (5) 60W-maximum Type B candelabra incandescent light bulbs (not included). To avoid the risk of fire, do not exceed the recommended wattage.
- This chandelier is meant for indoor use in dry locations only.
WARNING
- To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury, always turn off and unplug the chandelier and allow it to cool prior to replacing lightbulbs.
- Do not touch the bulbs when the chandelier is turned on. Do not look directly at lit bulbs.
- Keep flammable materials away from lit bulbs.
- WARNING: Be certain that the power to the electrical junction box is turned off at the circuit breaker before installation. Turning the power off at a light switch is not sufficient to prevent electrical shock.
- CAUTION: Prior to installation, locate All INCLUDED PARTS before disposing of packaging materials.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
-
SHUT OFF THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY FROM THE MAIN FUSE BOX/CIRCUIT BREAKER.
-
Remove all parts and hardware from carton. Do not discard any contents until after assembly is complete to avoid accidentally discarding small parts or hardware.
-
Hold the Mounting Plate (C) over the ceiling junction box. Mark the location for Plastic Anchor (B) on the ceiling. Be sure to check for level before installing Plastic Anchor (B).
-
Mount the Plastic Anchor (B) onto the ceiling.
-
Attach the Mounting Plate (C) onto the junction box using Washer (E) and Mounting Screw (F)
-
Secure the Mounting Plate (C) on the ceiling by screwing Wood Screw (D) into Anchor (B) on the ceiling.
-
Attach Collar Loop (J) on the threaded nipple of Mounting Plate (C) and tighten Collar Loop (J) with Hex Nut (H) to firmly secure.
-
Hanging Rod Set (M) includes rods of 8”, 14” and 20” attached together with metal links. Determine the desired height of the chandelier and decide number of rods included in Hanging Rod Set (M). Depending upon final chandelier hanging position from the ceiling, cut off the extra length on the power cord and ground wire. When cutting the power cord, be sure to cut it so that it is at least 6″ (152.4mm) long inside the ceiling outlet junction box. To prepare the cut power cord for the installation process, use wire strippers to prepare the ends of the two wires so that there is about 1/2″ of exposed wire for the Wire Connector (A).
-
Should we want to shorten the Hanging Rod Set (M), use two pairs of pliers to gently pry the metal link apart so that a space is created large enough for the metal link to be detached from the Hanging Rod Set (M). A soft cloth should be used between the pliers and Hanging Rod Set or metal link to prevent potential damage to the product finish.
-
The top end of Hanging Rod Set (M) should be attached to the Collar Loop (J) using Quick Link (L). The bottom end of Hanging Rods (M) should be attached to the Fixture Loop using another Quick Link (L).
-
Lace the 2 fixture wires and bare copper ground wire through the Hanging Rod Set (M) from the chandelier, all the way up through the Quick Link (L).
-
Slip the Canopy (I) over the open, lower end of the Hanging Rod (M), making sure the finished side of the Canopy
(I) is facing downward. Also slip the Threaded Ring (K) onto the Hanging Rod (M) after the Canopy (I). -
Carefully inspect the chandelier’s fixture wires. The Neutral Fixture Wire is ribbed. The Hot Fixture Wire is smooth, and the Ground Wire is in copper.
-
Gently pull existing Ground, Hot, and Neutral Junction Box Wires down from the Ceiling Junction Box and allow them to hang.
-
Attach the Ground Wire from the fixture to the Ground Junction Box Wire; it usually has green insulation around it or is bare wire. Fasten them together with a Wire Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. If your Ceiling Outlet Junction Box does not have a Ground Junction Box Wire, insert the Ground Screw (F) into the Mounting Plate (C) where it’s marked “Ground”, and wrap the fixture’s bare ground wire around the Ground Screw (F). Tighten the screw to clamp the Ground Junction Box Wire between the Ground Screw (F) head and the Mounting Plate (C). It is imperative that the Ceiling Junction Box in your home be properly grounded.
-
Connect the Neutral Fixture Wire to the Neutral Junction Box Wire; it usually has white insulation around it. Fasten them together with a Wire Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed.
-
Connect the Hot Fixture Wire to Hot Junction Box Wire; it usually has black insulation around it. Fasten them together with a Wire Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections or safety will be compromised.
-
Make sure all the wiring connections are good. Gently tuck the wire connections neatly into the ceiling junction box.
-
Slide the Canopy (I) upward along the Hanging Rods (M) so that the openings are received and centered by the threaded portion of the Collar Loop (J). The Collar Loop (J) should be hanging below the Canopy (I) and the upper rim of the canopy should be pressing gently against the ceiling surface, covering the junction box. While holding the Canopy (I) firmly in place, position the Threaded Ring (K) against the Collar Loop (J) and rotate clockwise until secure. Do not over tighten this Ring (K). Finger tight should be sufficient to hold the Canopy (I) firmly in place.
-
Insert FIVE (5) 60-Watt maximum Type B candelabra incandescent light bulbs (not included) or FIVE (5) 13-Watt compact fluorescent bulbs (not included) or FIVE (5) 9-Watt LED light bulbs (not included) into the sockets. Do not exceed the specified wattage.
-
Restore power to Ceiling Outlet Junction Box and test the fixture.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or a static duster.
- Always avoid the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they may cause damage the fixture’s finish.
After troubleshooting, if the light fixture still does not work, contact your local Ethan Allen Design Centre.
