INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
-
SHUT OFF THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY FROM THE MAIN FUSE BOX/CIRCUIT BREAKER.
-
Remove all parts and hardware from carton. Do not discard any contents until after assembly is complete to avoid accidentally discarding small parts or hardware.
-
If not already separated, remove the Thread Ring (N) and the Canopy (K) from the Collar Loop (L).
-
Attach the Mounting Bracket (E) to the ceiling outlet junction box using the Mounting Screws (G). Tighten screws with a Screwdriver until secure.
-
Attach one Hex Nut (H) to the top, and the other Hex Nut (H) to the bottom of the Nipple (I). Put the Lock Washer (J) in before attaching the Collar Loop (L) to the bottom end of the Nipple (I).
-
Secure the top of Nipple (I) to the Mounting Bracket (E) with the Hex Nut (H), exposing approximately 2” of its thread. Then, secure the Collar Loop (L) to the bottom end of the Nipple (I) with the Hex Nuts (H) and Lock Washer (J).
-
Determine the desired lighting fixture suspension length from the ceiling, allowing extra cord length for the ceiling outlet junction box wire connections.
-
Adjust the power cord to the fixture from the Canopy (K).
-
The Chain (O) length may be shortened from the top end by using pliers to remove chain links. Use a cloth or a folded piece of paper between the pliers and each link to protect the finish on the link during this process. To remove a link, use two pairs of pliers to create an opening at the link’s split line. To remove a length of chain, select the top link and remove it with the connected links intact. When the Chain (O) is at the desired length, open up the top link and attach it to the Collar Loop (L). Re-weave the fixture’s two-wire cord cable and bare ground wire through every other link in the Chain (O) and then through the Collar Loop (L), the Nipple (I), the Canopy (K), and then into the Mounting Bracket (E).
-
Depending upon final fixture hanging position from the ceiling, cut off the extra length on the two-wire power cord and bare copper ground wire. When cutting the power cord and bare copper ground wire, be sure to cut it so that it is at least 6″ (152.4mm) long inside the ceiling outlet junction box. To prepare the cut power cord for the installation process, use wire strippers to prepare the ends of the two wires so that there is about 1/2″ of exposed wire for the Wire Connectors (A).
-
Gently pull existing Ground, Hot, and Neutral Junction Box Wires down from the Ceiling Junction Box and allow them to hang.
-
Carefully inspect the chandelier’s fixture wires. The Neutral Fixture Wire (B) is ribbed. The Hot Fixture Wire (C) is smooth, and the Ground Wire (D) is in copper.
-
Attach the Ground Wire (D) from the fixture to the Ground Junction Box Wire; it usually has green insulation around it or is bare wire. Fasten them together with a Wire Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape.
Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. If your Ceiling Outlet Junction Box does not have a Ground Junction Box Wire, insert the Ground Screw (F) into the Mounting Bracket (E) where it’s marked “Ground”, and wrap the fixture’s bare ground wire around the Ground Screw (F). Tighten the screw to clamp the Ground Junction Box Wire between the Ground Screw (F) head and the Mounting Bracket (E). It is imperative that the Ceiling Junction Box in your home be properly grounded. -
Connect the Neutral Fixture Wire (B) to the Neutral Junction Box Wire; it usually has white insulation around it.
Fasten them together with a Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. -
Connect the Hot Fixture Wire (C) to Hot Junction Box Wire; it usually has black insulation around it. Fasten them together with a Wire Connector (A) and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections or safety will be compromised.
-
Gently tuck the wire connections neatly into the Ceiling Outlet Junction Box.
-
Slide the Canopy (K) and the Threaded Ring (N) up the Chain (O).
-
Place the Canopy (K) over the Ceiling Outlet Junction Box and secure it in place by screwing the Threaded Ring (N) onto the Collar Loop (L).
-
Insert THREE (3) 60-Watt maximum Type B candelabra incandescent light bulbs (not included) or THREE (3) 13-Watt compact fluorescent bulbs (not included) or THREE (3) 9-Watt LED light bulbs (not included) into the sockets. Do not exceed the specified wattage.
-
Restore power to Ceiling Outlet Junction Box and test the fixture.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or a static duster.
- Always avoid the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they may cause damage the fixture’s finish.
