Receiver Placement

STEP 1
With the gate in closed position (creating a 90° angle to the wall the hinges are on) place the receiver adjustment knob in the latch assembly wall mount (D or N). Mark the location of the holes, making sure you are located on top of a stud. Do this for the upper and lower latch wall mounts (F or O).
NOTE : Use the handle and hinge mounting paper (L,M) to help mark exact location of upper and lower wall mounts. Must use parts D with F and N with O.

STEP 2
Open the gate (swing it away from the stairs). Mount the upper and lower receivers using the 2″ wood screw.

NOTE : Use (D,F) or (N,O) to stop gate from swinging over stairwell. Parts are marked with “A” and “B” on backside. Do not assemble with gate swinging over stairwell.

Final Adjustments

STEP 1
When the gate is in the closed and latched position there should be no larger than a 2 1/2″ gap from the wall to the first picket on either side. To achieve this either screw inward or outward the hinge adjustment knobs and/or the receiver adjuster knobs.regalo-1250-Top-of-Stair-Safety-Gate-fig-

STEP 2
Once the 2 1/2″ maximum gap is set, tighten down the 4 jam nuts with a 13mm wrench. One on each hinge adjustment knob and one on each receiver adjuster knob.

STEP 3
Install the wall mount hinge snap female over the wall mount hinge snap male. Do so by matching the “legs” of the wall mount hinge snap female over the grooves, and sliding down until it clicks into place of the wall mount hinge snap male.
To remove hinge snap, with two fingers, gently pull both legs outward and slide hinge snap upwardregalo-1250-Top-of-Stair-Safety-Gate-fig-
