Product Information

The BabyScale B5 BT is a digital scale designed specifically for weighing babies and toddlers up to a maximum weight of 20 kg. It has a HOLD function that helps parents accurately weigh restless children who move around on the scale. The scale can be used on a flat, solid surface or mat in a dry environment. It comes with 3 AAA batteries that need to be inserted into the compartment at the bottom of the scale before switching it on for the first time. The scale can be used with or without a smartphone app for monitoring child development and growth using measurement history and graphs.

Product Usage Instructions

Product First Use, Weighing without the App

1. Insert the batteries and place the scale on a flat, solid surface or mat in a dry environment.
2. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to turn on the scale. The display will show ‘Hi’ and then ‘0’ when it’s ready for use.
3. Place the child on the scale, and the measured weight will be displayed on the screen.
4. The measured value on the display flashes 3 times and then remains displayed.
5. Turn off the scale by holding down the ON/OFF/TARE button, or the scale will automatically turn off after 2 minutes.

Product First Use, Weighing with the App

1. Download and install the app by scanning the QR code or entering the URL link, and register your personal information.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone and activate the app.
3. Click the Add device button or the + in the upper right corner, select Baby scale (Bluetooth) from the menu, and then select the scale.
4. Name the scale, choose the room where you will use it, and select Start Using.
5. Choose the units in which you want the app to display weight and height data and confirm your selection.
6. The scale is successfully paired and ready to use.

Functions

• HOLD function (automatic): The function is activated when the baby is placed on the scale and measures the baby’s weight when they are moving the least and locks the value on the display or writes it directly into the app.
• HOLD function (manual): If you prefer not to use the HOLD function (or to use it manually), it is possible to switch it between automatic/manual by holding down the HOLD button.
• TARE function: The TARE function allows you to weigh your baby’s clothes, for example, and then weigh the baby with clothes. To activate the function, press the ON/OFF/TARE button and then place the clothes on the scale. The display will show a negative weight value. Remove the clothes, and the display will show zero. Then place the baby on the scale, and it will show you the actual weight of the child.

Controls

• ON/OFF/TARE button: Press to turn on/off the scale, press to activate TARE function, hold to turn off the scale.
• HOLD button: Pressing activates the HOLD function (only in manual HOLD mode), holding switches the HOLD function between automatic/manual.

INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION

• Before switching on the scale for the first time, insert the 3 included AAA batte- ries into the compartment at the bottom of the scale. Make sure they are orien-ted according to the diagram in the compartment.
• Place the scale on a flat, solid surface or a mat in a dry environment.
• If you use the scale on a soft surface or carpet, the product will not be able to measure the child‘s weight optimally.
• Do not exceed the maximum weight (20 kg).
• When not in use, do not place anything on top of it or put unnecessary strain on it.
• Do not shake the scale and avoid impacts.
• Avoid contact with water.

FIRST USE, WEIGHING WITHOUT THE APP

1. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button, the scale will turn on, and the display will light up and show „Hi“.
2. When the text disappears and the scale display shows 0, the scale is ready for use.
3. Place the child on the scale, which will then display the measured weight.
4. The measured value on the display flashes 3 times and then remains displayed.
5. Turn off the scale by holding down the ON/OFF/TARE button, or the scale will automatically turn off after 2 minutes.

FIRST USE, WEIGHING WITH THE APP

The scale can also be used in conjunction with a smartphone app to help you monitor your child‘s development and growth using measurement history and graphs.

1. Download the app and register

   • Scan the QR code or enter the URL link and install the app.
   • Fill in your personal information and re-gister.

2. Pair the scale with the app

   • Turn on the app and activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
   • In the app, click the Add device button or the + in the upper right corner.
   • From the menu select Baby scale (Bluetooth).
   • Turn on the scale – the Bluetooth icon will flash in the upper right corner of the display.
   • In the app, press Next, then select the scale.
   • Now you can name the scale and choose the room where you will use it. Then select Start Using.
   • Choose the units in which you want the app to display weight and height data and confirm your selection.
   • The scale is successfully paired and ready to use.

3. Weighing with the app

   • Turn on the app and the scale.
   • Place the child on the scale. The scale immediately displays the child‘s weight both on its display and in the app.
   • The measured value on the display flashes 3 times and then remains displayed, and in automatic HOLD mode, it is directly transferred to the application.
   • You can reset the scale in the application with Reset, or if you use manual HOLD, you can lock and transfer the weight to the app with the Record button.
   • At the bottom, you can see the measurement history. When you select any of the recorded measurements, you will see more detailed information including a graphical display.
   • You can turn off the scale by holding down the ON/OFF/TARE button, or the scale will turn itself off after 2 minutes.

FUNCTIONS

1. HOLD function (automatic)

   • The TrueLife BabyScale B5 BT scale has a HOLD function, which helps parents accurately weigh restless children who move around on the scale.
   • When the baby is placed on the scale, the function is activated and the scale measures the baby‘s weight when they are moving the least and locks the value on the display or writes it directly into the app.
   • Automatic is the default setting of the HOLD function.

2. HOLD function (manual)

   •  If you prefer not to use the HOLD function (or to use it manually), it is possible to switch from the default automatic HOLD to manual HOLD on the scale at any time.
   • Switch between automatic and manual HOLD modes by holding down the HOLD button after turning on the scale. When switching to manual HOLD the scale will display OFF, when switching back to automatic HOLD the scale will display ON.
   • If you are in manual HOLD mode, the scale will not lock the value on the display. If you wish to lock the scale and transfer it to the application, press the HOLD button on the scale or the Record button in the application.

3. TARE function
   The TrueLife BabyScale B5 BT has a TARE function, which allows you to weigh your baby‘s clothes, for example, and then weigh the baby with clothes. To ac- tivate the function, follow these steps:

4. Turn on the scale and wait until the display shows 0.

5. Place the clothes on the scale.

6. Press the TARE button – the TARE icon appears on the display and the scale is reset.

7. Remove the clothes from the scale.

8.  Place the child on the scale with clothes or wrapped in a blanket and the scale will show you the actual weight of the child.

CONTROLS

   • Hold to turn off the scale

   • Pressing activates the HOLD function (only in manual HOLD mode)

TROUBLESHOOTING

• If the display shows error message o-Ld, the scale is overloaded.
