USER’S MANUAL
SAFETY TIPS
- Never place the Fezz Audio Torus amplifier near heat sources, such as radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation and airflow
- We also warn against exposure of the amplifier to conditions such as very low temperatures and/or high humidity.
- The amplifier should be plugged directly into a wall socket. If you must use an extension cord, please make sure that it has load parameters sufficient to ensure proper handling of current delivery to the device.
- When cleaning, always disconnect the Torus from the power source. Use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water or cleaning agents.
- If your amplifier starts to misbehave or to work incorrectly, if its temperature gets too high or you start feeling smoke – immediately disconnect the device from the mains.
- Due to the risk of exposure to high voltages – please do not open the lid of the amplifier. ATTENTION: This warning remains in force also in a situation where the device is already disconnected from the wall outlet.
- Always replace fuses in accordance with the original, intended specification.
- Do not make repairs on your own, or adjustments beyond those as described in this manual. Execution of any unauthorized repairs or modifications of the device result in a loss of warranty.

CONNECTIONS
The figures above show the rear panel view of the Fezz Audio Torus amplifier, together with the description of the basic inputs and outputs allowing for connection of the elements of your audio system. Follow the instructions below to connect Your sound system correctly.
STEP 1 / CONNECT LOUDSPEAKERS
Important Note: When using a banana plug, make sure the speaker terminals are completely tightened before inserting the plug.
Please connect the wires from your left channel loudspeaker to the Left + & – terminals, and the wires from the right channel loudspeaker to the Right + & – terminals. In each case, the red terminal is the positive output and the black terminal is the negative output. Please ensure no stray strands of wire short the speaker outputs together. Please ensure that the loudspeaker terminals have been tightened completely to provide a good electrical connection.
STEP 2 / CONNECT THE ANALOG SOURCES
These inputs (1-4) are suitable for any ‘line level’ source equipment such as
CD players, DAB or FM/AM tuners, etc.
Note: These inputs are for analog audio signals only. They should not be
connected to the digital output of a CD player or any other digital device.
The quality of the connecting cable is important. Please pay attention to the
output cable quality as it can have an impact on the performance qualities of
the sound.
STEP 3 / CONNECT THE TURNTABLE
Torus amplifier is equipped with MM/MC HO PHONO STAGE SECTION. You can connect
a turntable directly to source number 4.
This input is switchable. To activate the phono stage please switch the phono
button (9) Important – Do not operate the phono switch with the volume control
turned up.
STEP 4 / CONNECT DIGITAL COURSES
Torus amplifier is equipped with a high-quality digital-analog converter ( DAC ) USB, OPTICAL, and CO-AXIAL digital inputs. For coaxial connection – please use a high-quality 75 ohm digital RCA Phono interconnect cable (not one designed for normal audio use). This input is suitable for 16/24 bit content up to 192kHz.
TOSLINK S/PDIF Optical – Use a high-quality TOSLINK fiber optic interconnect
cable designed specifically for audio use. This input is suitable for 16/24
bit content up to 192kHz USB AUDIO IN – B type socket is installed to the
Torus to enable the playback of audio from a personal computer running
Microsoft Windows OS. Bluetooth audio streaming – selecting this function
allows Torus to receive Bluetooth audio from most phones, tablets, and
laptops. Please turn the Bluetooth power ON switch (7). The next step is
pairing.
PAIRING
To start streaming high-quality music from your device it will first need to
be paired with the Torus. Turn the Bluetooth mode ON (on your device) and scan
for Bluetooth devices. You will see “Fezz Audio” on the device list. Select,
connect and pair both devices.
STEP 5 / OTHER AUDIO SIGNAL CONNECTIONS
TAPE OUT – line signal output for recording by the external tape deck.
Tape out is a fixed volume output.
SUB OUTPUT – connect to the input on an active subwoofer if required.
PREAMP INPUT – for connection to the unbalanced inputs of a power
amplifier. To activate the preamp input, please push the switch located next
to the preamp inputs.
STEP 6 / CONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY CORD
Make sure that the amplifier is switched off. Connect the power cord to the
IEC socket (4) on the rear panel of the preamplifier.
The preamplifier is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 230V / 50Hz.
Connecting the device to a mains network with incorrect parameters can lead to
damage that is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
FIRST POWER UP AND GET STARTED
Make sure that all of your wirings are connected in accordance with the information as provided above. Set the volume control to a minimum. Turn on the main power at the back of the Torus amplifier. (5) After this time the light will turn red. Push power button (1) to turn ON the amplifier. Make sure the sound source is turned on, select the source number, then gradually increase the volume level by turning the potentiometer.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
REMOTE CONTROL
The IR remote control enables adjustment of the volume level, selecting
sources, and power ON/OFF the amplifier.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE
If your amplifier does not work as it is supposed to, it is fairly easy to diagnose and remedy some of the common malfunctions, by following procedures as outlined in this following.
THE PROBLEM | PROBABLE REASON | THE SOLUTION |
---|
After turning the power switch to the ON
position, the amplifier does not switch on.| A blown fuse| Please exchange to
faulty fuse to a new one (3,15 T), within the fuse holder as depicted with
index 6 on page 6 of this user’s manual.
An improper connection of the mains cable| Please check if the plugs of the
mains cable are properly inserted into the electrical mains socket and to the
socket as depicted with index 5 on page 5 of this user’s manual.
If You have verified the aforementioned situations, and your problem still persists, please contact Your local Fezz Audio dealer.
