PRODUCT HANDLING

Attaching the poker to drive unit
Model YT-82600 (II)
Pull off the threaded bushing and check the condition of gasket around the coupling. If any damage to gasket is found, it should be replaced with a new one before the start of work. Slide the end of the flexible poker tube onto the protruding part of the drive shaft of the drive unit.
Screw the threaded bushing onto the thread of the drive unit. Check whether the poker will not disconnect automatically during operation.
Model YT-82601
Turn the handle lock so that the notch gets inside coupling and allows inserting the coupling of poker’s fl exible shaft into drive unit’s mounting hole (II). Insert the flexible shaft coupling so that one of notches overlaps with the handle lock. Turn the handle lock (III), and then check whether the poker does not disconnect automatically during operation.
Switching the drive unit on and off
Model YT-82600 (III)
Hold the drive unit during operation with both hands. Switching on is done by pressing and holding the switch. When pressure on the switch is released, operation of the drive unit is stopped.
The switch has been fitted with a lock that allows locking the switch in the “on” position. In order to activate the lock, press and hold the switch, and then press and hold the lock button while releasing the pressure on the switch.
Lock is released by pressing the switch.
Model YT-82601 (IV)
Hold the drive unit during operation with both hands. Frame around the unit has a plastic feet that allows laying the drive unit on the ground. However, even when the drive unit is laid on the ground, it must be held with both hands during operation. Itis forbidden to leave the drive unit without support and unattended.
There is a switch in the back of housing, switching it to the “on” position – I, switching it to the “off” position – O, will stop the operation of the drive unit. It is not necessary to hold the switch during operation.
Next to the switch there is an overload protection button. If, during operation, the drive unit stops automatically, it may indicate that the overload protection was triggered. In this case, put the switch in the off position – O, disconnect the power plug from the mains socket, wait for the drive unit to cool down, press the protection button and then start the drive unit with the switch.
Recommendations regarding operation and work with a concrete vibrator
Carry the power unit with the attached poker always by holding the drive unit and the poker. Carrying the product with a loaded poker’s flexible shaft can lead to damaging the coupling.
Concrete should be poured into a mould or formwork by layers. Layer thickness should not exceed 50 cm. Thickness is recommended to be between 30 and 50 cm.
The product is designed for a concrete mortar with a thickness of at least 10 cm.
The poker should always be inserted into the mortar vertically and held in this position throughout the work. During the work, move the poker vertically. The poker that is dipped in concrete must not be moved to another place. It should be taken out of concrete and inserted into a new place.
Do not apply excessive force when dipping the poker in concrete. The poker can lean against reinforcement bars. In this case, dislocate the poker upwards and try to dip it again.
Avoid dipping it too close to walls or formwork. The poker must not touch any obstacles in the course of work. Keep a distance of at least 7 cm from obstacles.
Work should begin with the lowest layers of concrete and gradually move up to higher layers.
The poker should be dipped at fixed spacing over the entire surface of concrete. The spacing should be from 8 to 10 times the poker’s diameter, that is from 28 to 35 cm in case of a poker supplied with the product.
Poker’s displacement in concrete should not be too fast. Only then, concrete will be in a position to properly close up the place after the poker. Displace the poker at a speed of about 8 cm/s. Only when pulling the poker out of concrete, the very end of pulling process should be carried out quickly to prevent the concrete surface to dishevel.
Watch the time of dipping the vibration poker in concrete. Too short dipping time will not release all air bubbles, too long dipping time can lead to separation of concrete components. Poker’s dipping time depends on the type and density of concrete, as well as on the size of poker. It should remain within the range of 5 to 15 seconds. Shorter time should be applied to concrete with lower density. Observe the surface of concrete around the poker, if it becomes dense and slightly glistening and a change in the sound of vibration poker is observed, the poker should be removed from concrete.
After removing the poker from concrete, it should not be kept vibrating for too long without dipping. It should be dipped in a new place or the operation of drive unit should be stopped. The poker vibrating for too long without load can overheat, which shortens its service life, and may also lead to damage.
In case of vibrating the mortar for concrete slabs, the poker should be placed askew, this will increase the contact area between the poker and concrete.
Note! Do not allow concrete to harden on a flexible shaft or vibration poker. After the work is finished, immediately stop the operation of drive unit, disconnect the power plug from the mains socket, disassemble the poker’s flexible shaft from the drive unit, and then clean the poker and the flexible shaft from concrete residues. Hardened concrete can lead to damage of the flexible shaft and/or poker.
Product maintenance
Note! All maintenance operations should be carried out after disconnecting the power plug from the mains socket.
The poker and the flexible shaft should be cleaned with water immediately after finishing work. Do not allow the concrete to hardenon these elements. Do not use high-pressure washers to clean the flexible shaft and vibration poker.
After cleaning, wipe dry.
Do not immerse the drive unit in water or any other liquid. Do not direct a jet of water or other liquid onto the drive unit. Clean the drive unit housing with a slightly damp soft cloth or sponge and then thoroughly wipe dry. Vents should be cleaned by means of a soft brush or using a jet of compressed air at a pressure of not more than 0.3 MPa.
After every 100 hours of operation, the fl exible shaft and vibration poker should be inspected and lubricated at an authorized service point of the manufacturer.
Spare parts
A detailed list of product’s spare parts can be found in the “Download” section, in the product card, on the TOYA SA websites: www.toya.pl and www.toya24.pl.
Product storage
The product should be stored thoroughly cleaned and dried. The flexible shaft must be disconnected from the drive unit.
Store the product in closed rooms. Protect it against an access of unauthorized persons.
At the place of storage, ensure proper ventilation to prevent condensation of steam. The place of storage should protect the product from the eff ects of weather conditions.
Product transportation
During the work, the product should be transported over short distances by supporting simultaneously the drive unit and the flexible shaft.
When transporting over longer distances, dismantle the flexible shaft from the drive unit. Both elements should be transported separately. Transport the product in unit packaging or other hard packaging that provides protection against shocks. During transport, protect the product from moisture!
