Low Ambient Cooling Guard
The Low Ambient Cooling Guard is a product designed to protect the outdoor unit coil of the DVM S2 Low ambient coolingJXDUGPRGHOV LACH-R1-B, LACH-R2-B. It comes with a rear low ambient cooling guard and installation screws. This product has sharp edges, so it is important to wear protective clothing, eye protection, and gloves during installation to prevent personal injury. Additionally, extreme care should be taken during installation to prevent damage to the outdoor unit coil.
Product Usage Instructions
Low Ambient Cooling Guard Installation
- Remove the rear coil guard screen from the outdoor unit and discard it. Save the screws.
- Carefully lift the guard up to the unit lining up the screw holes on the left and right sides of the guard, taking care not to scratch the outdoor unit finish.
- Insert and tighten the screws from step 1 in the screw holes from the screen removed in step 1.
- Secure the guard to the unit using all provided screw holes. Never use screws longer than the screws that are included with LACH-R*-B to prevent damage to outdoor unit components.

Installation Instructions
NOTE
- To prevent personal injury or damage to the outdoor unit, it is recommended that at least two (2) people install the guard.
- The outdoor unit must install 12″ minimum above the ground or 18″ minimum above the anticipated snowfall depth (“h”, Figure: A), whichever is higher.
- Clearance around the outdoor unit must be at least 18″ greater than standard clearances (“unrestricted” wall height clearances in the outdoor unit installation manual) when using LACH-R1-B, and LACH-R2-B.
- LACH-R1-B and LACH-R2-B guards are designed to be used in conjunction with LACH-1-B, LACH-2-B, and LACH-3-B low ambient cooling hoods and LACH-SL-B and LACH-SR-B side guards. Side, rear and front (for applicable models) guards and a low ambient cooling hood must be used for low ambient cooling applications.
- Remove rear coil guard screen from the outdoor unit and discard. Save the screws.
