• Work area safety

  • Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
  • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
  • If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dustrelated hazards.
• Power tool use and care
  • Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
  • Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Keep your hands away from rotating sanding head area at all times.
• Prolongad breathing of airborne dust from drywall sanding may effect respiratory function:
  • Always use a vacuum cleaner with a bag approved far drywall dust installed.
  • Always wear a respirator approved far dust and mist.
• Sanding lead-based paint is extremely toxic and should not be attempted. Only allow professionals with special training and equipment perform this task.
• Maintain proper faoting and balance at all times. Do not overreach. Use proper scaffolding.
• Always wear appropriate safety equipment when operating.
• lmportant: after completing sanding, switch off the switch and wait far the coasting sanding head to stop completely befare putting the tool down.
• Never operate the tool in an area with flammable solids liquids, or gases. Sparks from the commutate I carbon brushes could cause a fire or explosion.
• There are certain applications far which this tool was designad. The manufacturar strongly recommends that this tool cannot be modified and I or used far any apphcat1on other than far which it was designad.
• Use the machina with both hands at all times. Loss of control can cause personal injury.
• Keep power supply cord clear from the working range of the machi ne. Always lead the cable away behind YOU.
• lmmediately switch off the machine if un usual vibrations or if other malfunctions occur. Check the machina in arder to find out the cause.
• The dust that arises when working with this tool can be harmful to health. Use a dust absorption system and wear a suitable dust protection mask and remove deposited dust with a vacuum cleaner.

COMMISSIONING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Read this manual and general safety mstruct1ons carefully befare using the appliance, tor your own safety. Your power tool should only be passed on together with these instructions.
PLACEMENT
Be sure to work in a clean, stable, and with possibilities of movement.
ASSEMBLY
Assemble auxiliary handle
Disconnect the appliance from the mains.
The machine is equipped with a suction hose and a socket for connecting to the vacuum cleaner with a standard diameter of 38 mm. For special 47mm connections, a 38mm to 47mm adapter is included.
The network voltage must confarm to the voltage indicated on the tool name plata. Under no circumstances should the tool be u sed when the power supply cable is damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced immediately by an authorized Customer Service Centre. Do not try to repair the damaged cable yourself. The use of damaged power cables can lead to an electric shock.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

OPERATION

Make sure that the power circuit voltage is the same as that shown on the specification plata of the machina and that switch is befare connecting the tool to the power circuit.
Switching the machine on and off
To switch ON:
Hold the machine firmly with both hands using the auxiliary handle For the LP 700 E model, press the switch. To keep the machine on, press and hold the switch.
Models LP710E, LP710DT have an ON / OFF switch that keeps the engine running constantly without the need to keep the button constantly depressed.
For HP750BE, HP1010, LP1000 BRUSHLESS models push the switch. To keep the machine on, press and hold the switch. These models also have an engine lock button that allows you to keep the engine running without having to keep the switch pressed.
In the LP1000E model, if you quickly press twice in succession, you can enter protection due to the unintentional start of the machine. In these conditions the machine will stop and you will have to wait a few seconds for safety before restarting them. To start correctly, always keep the power switch pressed.
To switch OFF:
For the LP 700 E model, stop pressing the switch.
For LP710E, LP710DT models press the switch to leave it in the “off” / OFF position.
For HP750BE, HP1010, LP1000 BRUSHLESS models stop pressing the switch. In case of having the motor loc-ked in constant operation, lightly press the switch again to stop the machine.

TOOL CHANGE

Change of the disk
The abrasive disk can be easily changed thanks to the fabric adhesion system. Just pull the disc and replace it with a new one.
NOTE: Only use sandpaper discs which fit properly and which are designad far vacuum use.
Change of brush ring
The brush bristles on the edge of the sanding plata cover serve two purposes, they keep the sanding disc properly aligned with the work surface without gouging and they also help the efficiency of the dust collection by the vacuum cleaner. These brush bristles will wear with continuad use. The sanding plata cover should be replaced when the bristles are too worn to ensure effective dust collection and stabilization of the sanding head.
Replacement is the opposite of removal. Entrust all repairs to an authorized service centre.
Remove the brush ring by removing the 6 or 8-star screws.
Sanding pad change

• Insert a hex key into the center screw with hex nut on the sanding pad.
• Insert a rod, allen key or screwdriver in one of the suc-tion holes to immobilize the plate, holding the tool with your hand.
• Turn the hex key to remove the chainring.
• Install the new sanding by tightening the central screw.

Speed setting

The speed of the machine varies to suit different tasks using the wheel. The highest speed should be used for a fast, coarse sanding and the lowest speed for more precise control and a finer finish.

INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

Effective control of this powerful tool requires two-handed tor maximum safety and control.
Always wear respiratory mask and glasses with EPI level.
Once the machi ne and vacuum cleaner are set up and all safety measures and equipment are in place, begin by turning on the vacuum cleaner and then the machine. (lf you are using a vacuum cleaner with integrated switching, then simply turn the machine on.)
Begin sanding and carefully contact the work surface as lightly as possible- just enough to keep the sanding head flat against the surface.
The joist in the sanding head allows the sanding disc to follow the contours of the work surface.
The best technique is to use overlapping sweeps and keep the head in constant motion. Never stop too long in any one place ar there will be swirl marks. With experience it will be very easy to create excellent results.
For a better job in the joints between walls and / or ceilings in the LP1000E model, a part of the brush ring can be removed to gain access to the 100% joint. To remove, release the tab on the top of the sanding head to remove the part.
NOTE: Ensure that the sandpaper you are using is suited to the task, overly coarse grit paper may remove material too quickly to control. While overly fine grit paper may clog too often and not shape down the surface.
CAUTION: Take care to avoid sharp projections and nails, etc.This will wipe out the sandpaper and probably damage the sponge pad as well.

ELIMINATION

We recommend that the power tools, accessories and packaging should be a recovery process that respects the environment.

According to the European Directiva 2012/19/UE on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its implementation into national law, must accumulate separately far power tools under an ecological recycling.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

CLEANING, MAINTAINING, LUBRICATING, SHARPENING

Before any work on the machina itself, pull the mains plug. For safe and proper working, always keep the machina and ventilation slots clean.
In extreme working conditions, conductiva dust can accumulate in the interior of the machina when working with metal. The protective insulation of the machi ne can be degradad. The use of a stationary extraction system is recommended in such cases as well as frequently blowing out the ventilation slots and installing a residual current device (RCD).

Please store and handle the accessory(-ies) carefully. lf the machine should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre for STAYER power tools.

Guarantee card
lncluded in the documentation that accompanies this equipment, you should find the warranty card. You should fill out the card completely and return to vendar with a copy of purchasing receipt or invoice and you should receive a receipt.
Note : lf you cannot find the warranty card within the documentation, you must ask for it through your supplier.
The warranty is limited only to manufacturing defects and expire if pieces have been removed or manipulated or repaired other than the manufacturar.

WARRANTY GENERAL CONDITIONS

In STAYER IBERICA S.A. (from now on “STAYER”), strict control processes are conducted to comply with the security and quality required.
To understand the application area of this text, we differentiate the following users:

• Users or consumers, as private individuals whose acts are not related to their main comercial, business activity or their main profession or trade. Legal persons and entities without legal personality which act with non-profit means in an unrelated comercial or corporate enviroment.
• Professionals, whom obtain comercial, business or working profits by using any STAYER product.

STAYER offers a guarantee for all of its power tools, garden tools and welding tools, subject to the following conditions:

1. STAYER offers a 36 month guarantee against manufacturing defects or consistency issues, bearing in mind that any issue must be easily visible or provable, as the product will be tested at our labs to verify said issues. If the product has been subjected to industrial or professional use, said guarantee will cover exclusively 12 months since the first buyer aquired the product.
2. The following cases are exempt from the guarantee:
   • Any kind of defect or malfunctioning caused by not applying the safety and maintenance instructions given in the User’s guide.
   • Any damage caused by using other brand’s accessories, incompatible accessories with the tool model or faulty accessories.
   • Any manipulation, modification or repair conducted by staff unrelated to STAYER or its associated Technical Support Services.
   • Products with minimal deviations from the features that do not impact on the tool’s optimal performance and its value.
   • Products which have been connected to a different voltage tenssion grid than the one stated on the tool’s features, causing an electrical failure.
   • Products or components which have suffered wear due to the normal use of the tool, being said components consumables, accessories or components subject to wear that must be replaced by the owner.
   • Products that show any kind of misuse or application which deviates from its original intended uses, listed in the Users guide.
   • Products that show lack of correct maintenance from the owner. The owner is responsible for the tool’s maintenance in order to preserve its service life.
   • Accessories and tool consumables, as their intended use has a limited service life that includes wear.
3. In order to claim the guarantee rights, the tool owner must first fill the repair order either digitally or physically, and process it with the tool’s vendor or the Authorized Technical Support Services before shipping the tool. A copy of the purchase receipt or invoice must be attached to the form where the purchase date can clearly be seen. Shipping costs are not included if the product is delivered to the vendor or the Technical Support Services without processing the repair form first.
4. If the Authorized Technical Support or STAYER is unable to locate the defect or issue, STAYER will not assume the shipping costs, nor the costs derived from testing the tool to locate the issue.
5. Guarantee transfer is completely forbidden, the guarantee does not cover second-hand products.
6. During the guarantee application due to manufacturing defects or consistency issues, the product will remain under STAYER’s custody in its facilities or its Authorized Technical Support Services. During this period of time the tool’s owner is not entitled to receive a substitution tool in place of the product that is being repaired.
7. In order to correct the manufacturing defects or consistency issues contemplated in the guarantee terms, STAYER will only repair or substitute all the necessary components free of charge in order for the tool to perform according to the quality and safety standards. STAYER withholds the right to substitute the product for a similar one in cases where reparations would not be possible.
