DATA SHEET

MACHINE SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS

  • Use the tool only for pruning branches. Do not use it for other tasks.
  • Never allow children or persons with disabilities of any kind, as well as inexperienced persons to use this tool. Failure to do so could result in injury.
  • Carefully read the instructions and specifications of the battery you use with the tool. Failure to do so could result in poisoning or injury when applying the product.
  • Always maintain a stable and balanced position. Do not reach into hard-to-reach areas or work in awkward positions.
  • Do not touch the scissor blades unless the battery is disconnected. Failure to do so could result in injury.
  • Do not attempt to cut materials other than branches. Cutting materials not intended for this tool may cause the shears to jam. If this happens, disconnect the battery and only then remove the jammed material.
  • Do not hold the branch to be cut with the hand that is not holding the tool. For your safety always keep your hand away from the cutting area and the tool.
  • Do not force the tool to cut beyond its capabilities. The tool could slip and cut other things or injure you.
  • Avoid cutting any type of electrical wiring. Risk of electrocution.
  • Handle the blades with extreme care. They are extremely sharp and the tool is very powerful.
  • Always examine the blades before starting any work. Bad or damaged blades can cause accidents.
  • After completing any work, switch the tool off at the safety switch and disconnect the battery.

BATTERIES USE AND CARE

  • Do not open the battery. Danger of shortcircuiting.
  • Protect the battery against heat, e. g., against continuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
  • In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapours may be emitted. Provide for fresh air and seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapours can irritate the respiratory system.
  • Use the battery only in conjunction with your STAYER power tool. This measure alone protects the battery against dangerous overload.
  • Use only original STAYER batteries with the voltage listed on the nameplate of your power tool. When using other batteries, e. g. imitations, reconditioned batteries or other brands, there is danger of injury as well as property damage through exploding batteries.
  • Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the machine has been automatically switched off. The battery can be damaged.
  • The battery is equipped with a temperature control which allows charging only within a temperature range of between 0 °C and 45 °C. A long battery service life is achieved in this manner.
  • Observe the notes for disposal.
  • Use only the battery chargers listed on the accessories page. Only these battery chargers are matched to the lithium-ion battery of your power tool.
  • The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure full capacity of the battery, completely charge the battery in the battery charger before using your power tool for the first time.
  • The lithiumion battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure does not damage the battery.
  • The lithiumion battery is protected against deep discharging. When the battery is empty, the machine is switched off by means of a protective circuit: The inserted tool no longer rotates.
  • Temperature Dependent Overload Protection
  • When using as intended for, the power tool cannot be subject to overload. When the load is too high or the allowable battery temperature range of 0–50 °C is exceeded, the speed is reduced. The power tool will not run at full speed until reaching the allowable battery temperature. position. Unintentional actuation of the On/Off switch can lead to injuries.
  • Open the keyless chuck 2 by turning in rotation direction , until the tool can be inserted. Insert the tool. Firmly tighten the collar of the keyless chuck 2 by hand in rotation direction . This automatically locks the drill chuck.
  • The locking is released again to remove the tool when the collar is turned in the opposite direction.

TOOL ASSEMBLY
Changing the Upper blade (2)

  1. Follow the steps described in point 3 of the manual to activate the tool by opening the blades.
  2. With the blades open, deactivate the safety switch (6) leaving it in position O and remove the battery (7).
  3. Remove the hexagonal screw (3) by turning anticlockwise using the hexagonal spanner (9). Then remove the hexagonal nut (5) by also turning anticlockwise. Remove the washer.
  4. Use the hexagonal spanner (9) to unscrew the 2 screws that hold the head housing, extracting the part that covers the blade insert.
  5. Remove the retaining ring (A) from the retaining arm (B) using pliers. With blade (2) released, you can remove it and install a new one by following this sequence of steps in reverse.
  6. Apply lubricant (10) to the new blade (2). When installing the housing part, make sure that it is aligned with the rest of the structure and that the fastening screws fit correctly. Before using the tool, make sure that the pressure between the blades is correct.

CAUTION: Use only original STAYER spare parts. The use of other components can lead to accidents and injuries.
Adjusting the pressure between the blades (1-2)
It is necessary to adjust the pressure between the blades from time to time in order to keep the tool in good working conditions.

  1. Follow the steps described in point 3 of the manual to activate the tool by opening the blades.
  2. With the blades open, deactivate the safety switch (6) leaving it in position O and remove the battery (7).
  3. Loosen the hexagonal screw (3) by turning anticlockwise using the hexagonal spanner (9).
  4. Adjust the pressure of the blades (1-2) using the internal hexagonal spanner (11). Increase the pressure by turning clockwise, release the pressure by turning anticlockwise.
  5. Reassemble the machine by repeating steps 1, 2 and 3 in reverse order.

CAUTION: Correct blade pressure is a decisive factor in the performance of the tool.
If the blades are too loose, the cut will be of poor quality and the branch debris will get stuck in the blades.
Excessive pressure will strain the tool’s motor and reduce the tool’s life and wear the blades.
When the shears are closed there should be no gap or movement between the blades.

Greasing the blades (1-2)
The blades must be greased before each use.

  4. Apply lubricating oil (10) in the insertion hole of the hexagonal nut (5) where the screw (3) is inserted.
  5. Screw the screw (3) back into position by turning clockwise.
  6. Operate the trigger (4) several times under vacuum to redistribute the oil correctly.
Note: Do not use too much oil, apply it carefully.

MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before any work on the machine (e. g., maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction switch to the centre position.Unintentional actuation of the On/Off switch can lead to injuries.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
When the battery is no longer operative, please refer to an authorised aftersales service agent for Stayer power tools.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an aftersales service centre for Stayer power tools.

Cleaning the blades (1-2)

  1. Follow the steps described in point 3 of the manual to activate the tool by opening the blades.
  2. With the blades open, turn the safety switch (6) to the O position and remove the battery (7).
  3. Use a wire brush to remove any dirt from the blades.
  4. Carefully clean the blades using a cloth rag, applying lubricating oil (10).

Sharpening the blades (1-2)

  1. Follow the steps described in point 3 of the manual to activate the tool by opening the blades.
  2. With the blades open, deactivate the safety switch (6) leaving it in position O and remove the battery (7).
  3. Use a flat file (L) to file the cutting edge of the blade (1 or 2). Sharpen the blade by following the curve of the blade longitudinally, maintaining the angle of the file throughout the entire stroke.
  4. Use a flat file to file the opposite edge of the blade (1 or 2). File the blade by applying light pressure following the curve of the blade longitudinally while maintaining the angle of the file throughout. Do not sharpen this side of the blade too much or the gap between the blades will be too wide and the blades will lose effectiveness.
