Product Information

The P1274 and P1275 are lighting fixtures that require installation by an electrician or certified factory-trained technician. The fixture is designed to be mounted on a standard round or octagon box or a through wiring box with a plaster frame and must be installed in compliance with all applicable national and local electrical/building codes. The fixture is rated for 60 watt type B, BA, C or CA lamps.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Disconnect power before relamping or wiring the fixture.
  2. If an existing fixture is being replaced, remove it and note to which of the wires in the outlet box the fixture was attached. Do not separate any other wires that may be in the box. Do not damage the insulation of older wiring.
  3. Fasten the bare copper fixture wire to the green or bare copper wire in the post. Never fasten the ground wire to the black or hot wire!
  4. Fasten the white fixture wire to the white wire in the post. Fasten the wires together with an approved fastener (wire nut). Starting about 1 below the fastener, tightly wrap the connection with electrical tape so that the tape seals the end of the fastener. Make sure that there is no exposed wire or strands that could cause a dangerous short circuit!
  5. Connect the black fixture lead to the black wire in the outlet box. Fasten the joined wires as in step 2.
  6. Place the fixture on the post and fasten it in place with the 3 set screws and mounting screws provided.
  7. Unscrew the loop and remove the sealing washer, ornament, and roof.
  8. Install the glass panels and bend the tabs over the panels to hold them in place.
  9. Install the lamps (light bulbs). Do not exceed recommended wattage!

For your safety, be certain that all circuit breakers controlling outdoor lighting and equipment are GFI breakers. Caution and care must be supplied by the person(s) installing, operating, and caring for this lighting fixture. The important safeguards and instructions outlined in the manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood that common sense, caution, and care are factors that cannot be built into any product.
