APPA A16R All New Industrial Clamp Multimeter

Product Information

The A16R Industrial Clamp Multimeter is a versatile tool designed for measuring AC/DC voltage, resistance, continuity, frequency, and current. It features a 3 3/4 digit large scale LCD display with a display count of 4000 and a measuring  ate of 1.5 times per second. The meter has overload protection of 750Vrms//1000Vdc and input impedance of 1M // less than 100pF. It is powered by a 9V alkaline battery that has a life of up to 100 hours.

The A16R Industrial Clamp Multimeter is compliant with EU directives, and the jaw is CAT.IV.600V protected with respect to earth. The meter also features tactile barriers for hand guards to ensure safe operation.

Product Usage Instructions

Safety Information: Always follow the instructions provided for safe operation and service of the Meter. Failure to observe warnings can result in severe injury or death.

Off/On: To power on the meter, press any button (except Hold button) and switch the rotary knob. The meter will automatically power off after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. To disable auto power off, press any button (except Hold button) and switch the rotary knob.

AC/DC Voltage Measurement: Use the AC V/DC V function to measure voltage. Ensure that the equipment being measured is protected by double or reinforced insulation. For DC measurement, connect the red test lead to the positive  +) terminal and the black test lead to the negative (-) terminal. For AC measurement, connect the test leads to the phase line and neutral line.

Resistance & Continuity: Use the Resistance and Continuity function to measure resistance and continuity. The meter has overload protection of 600Vrms and a maximum open circuit voltage of 3V. The internal sound will activate if the resistance of the circuit under test is less than 30 approximately.

AC/DC Current Measurement: Use the AC A/DC A function to measure current. For DC measurement, open the jaw and place it around the conductor being measured. For AC measurement, ensure that the jaw is CAT.IV.600V protected with respect to earth.
Do not hold the meter across the tactile barrier for hand guard.

Frequency Measurement: Use the Hz function to measure frequency.

Data Hold: Use the Data Hold function to freeze the displayed value on the LCD display.

Min/Max Hold: Use the Min/Max Hold function to save and display the minimum and maximum values measured. Press and hold the MIN/MAX button to return to normal operation.

Peak Hold: Use the Peak Hold function to save and display the peak maximum and minimum values measured. Press and hold the PEAK button for 3 seconds to calibrate the meter itself for accurate measurement. Press and hold PEAK to return to normal operation.

Back Light: The back light will automatically turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V alkaline battery when “Replace battery” is displayed or flashes when pressing a button.

Safety Information

To ensure safe operation and service of the Meter, follow these instructions. Failure to observe warnings can result in severe injury or death.

WARNING

  • Avoid working alone so assistance can be rendered.
  • Do not use test leads or the Meter if they look damaged.
  • Do not use the Meter if the Meter is not operating properly or if it is wet.
  • Use the Meter only as specified in the Instruction card or the protection by the Meter might be impaired.
  • Use extreme caution when working around bare conductors or bus bar. Contact with the conductor could result in electric shock.
  • Use caution with voltages above 30V ac rms, or 60V dc. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
  • To avoid false readings, which could lead to possible electric shock or personal injury, replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator ( ) appears.
