INTENDED USE

  • This device is designed for vacuum cleaning normal household dust.
    On no account should the device be used to suck up the following:

    • liquids or wet substances (e.g. wet carpet shampoo)
    • glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
    • inflammable or explosive substances
    • very fi ne dust (e.g. concrete dust), ash or toner
    • pointed, hard objects such as large pieces of broken glass
  • The device is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.

  • The device should only be used as described in the operating instruc-tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.

  • The warranty does not cover faults caused by incorrect handling, damage or attempted repairs. The same ap-plies to normal wear and tear.

SAFETY NOTICES

WARNING: Read all safety notices, instructions, illustra-tions and technical data provided with this device. Failure to follow the safety notices and instructions may result in electric shock, fi re and / or injuries.

  • This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from failure to comply with the relevant safety precautions.
  • Children must not play with the device.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised.
  • Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept away from the device and the connecting cable.
  • The device must always be disconnected from the mains pow-er before it is assembled, disassembled or cleaned.
  • Never immerse the device and the connecting cable in water or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet.
  • Only ever charge up the rechargeable battery using the mains adapter supplied with the device (GQ12-260040_AG). Do not use the mains adapter that is supplied to charge up any other devices.
  • Do not make any modifi cations to the device. Also do not replace the connecting cable yourself. If the device, the con-necting cable or the accessories of the device are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, cus-tomer service department or a specialist workshop in order to avoid any hazards.

DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock

  • Store the device only in closed rooms.
  • Do not operate or store the device in rooms with high humidity.
  • If the device falls into water while it is connected to the mains power, switch off the power supply immediately!Only after this should you pull the device out of the water.
  • Never touch the device and the con-necting cable with wet hands when these components are connected to the mains power.

WARNING – Danger of Injury!

  • Keep children and animals away from plastic bags and fi lms. There is a dan-ger of suffocation.
  • Make sure that the connecting cable is always kept out of the reach of small children and animals. There is a danger of strangulation.
  • Lay the connecting cable in such a way that it does not present a trip hazard.
  • Keep animals, hair, jewellery, wide clothing, fi ngers and all other body parts away from the nozzles of the device.

WARNING – Danger from Rechargeable Batteries

  • Do not take apart the rechargeable battery. Protect the device from:
    fire, high temperatures of over 50°C, direct sunlight and sub-zero temper- atures. The battery could ignite or explode. Do not store the battery in a vehicle where it might be exposed to extreme temperatures.

  • Protect the device and the battery from persistent moisture. Do not use, charge or store it in rooms with high humidity.

  • If the device is to be used for cleaning a car, ensure that the device is not exposed to rain or moisture.

  • If the battery leaks, do not allow your skin, eyes and mucous membranes to come into contact with the battery acid. There is a danger of burns. If you do touch battery acid, rinse the affected areas with abundant clear water straight away and seek medical assistance immediately.

  • Do not use the device if the battery has leaked.

WARNING – Danger of Fire!

  • Do not charge up the device in the vicinity of highly fl ammable materials (curtains, textiles, etc.).
  • Do not cover the device during oper-ation or charging in order to prevent it from catching fi re. Do not insert anything into the ventilation openings of the device and make sure that they do not become clogged.

NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property

  • Charge and store the device only in closed rooms.
  • The device should only be used if it has been fully and correctly assem-bled! The fi lters must be inserted and must not be damaged! If dirt were to get inside the motor unit, this could damage the motor.
  • Use only original accessories from the manufacturer in order to guarantee that there is no interference that may prevent the device from working and to avoid possible damage.
  • Do not place heavy objects on the device or the connecting cable.
  • Make sure that the connecting cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not wind the mains cable around the mains adapter.
  • When you pull the mains adapter out of the plug socket, always pull on the mains adapter and never the mains cable!
  • Protect the device from impacts.

NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property from Batteries

  • Remove a dead battery from the de-vice immediately. Clean the contacts before a new battery is inserted.

NOZZLES AND EXTENSION TUBE

  • Floor Nozzle
    The electric floor nozzle (I) is suitable for both carpets and hard fl oors. It has a rotating cleaning brush to make it easier to pick up hair and fl uff.

  • Brush Nozzle
    The brush nozzle (A) is used for vacuum-ing upholstery and textiles and for remov-ing dust from delicate objects such as picture frames, lamp shades, keyboards, books etc.The brush head can be pivoted 360°.

  • Crevice Nozzle
    The crevice nozzle (G) is suitable for places which are hard to get to, such
    as corners, crevices or recesses. Uphol-stery, cleaning the inside of cars and for all nooks and crannies that cannot be reached with other nozzles.

  • Extension Tube
    The extension tube (F) is intended to be used together with the fl oor nozzle for cleaning fl oors. In addition, it makes it easier to reach ceilings and corners.

  • Nozzle Holder
    The crevice nozzle and the brush nozzle can be plugged onto the nozzle hold-er (H) for storage. This is clamped onto the extension tube (Picture G).

WALL MOUNTING BRACKET

Please Note!

  • Make sure that the surface on which the wall mounting bracket is mounted is stable and that screws and anchors which are suitable for the wall are used. Seek advice from a specialist retailer if in doubt.
  • Before drilling, ensure that there are no pipes or cables behind the intend-ed drilling point.

The device can be stored in the wall mounting bracket (B) and charged up there for its next use (Picture I).
The wall mounting bracket can be screwed onto the wall. The items sup-plied include 2 screws and anchors to allow you to do this.

  • Ideally attach the wall mounting bracket near to an easily accessi-ble plug socket so that the device can be charged.
    The cord of the connecting cable (D) can be tucked in on the small hook on the wall mounting bracket.

Screwing On the Wall Mounting Bracket

  1. Place the wall mounting bracket straight against the wall and mark out two drill holes.
  2. Drill holes into the wall and place anchors in them.
  3. Screw on the wall mounting bracket.

Inserting the Motor Unit
Insert the motor unit (E) into the wall mounting bracket so that the suction opening (12) is pointing downwards and the recess over the battery (C) fi ts on the hook of the wall mounting bracket (Picture I).

CHARGING UP THE BATTERY

Please Note!

  • Only connect the mains adapter to a plug socket that is properly installed and matches its technical data. The plug socket must be readily accessible after connection so that the con-nection to the mains can quickly be isolated.
  • Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the mains adapter.
  • Pull the mains adapter out of the plug socket if an error occurs during charg-ing or before a thunderstorm.
  • It is essential that you charge up the battery fully before you fi rst use the device in order to achieve the maxi-mum charging capacity. If the battery is fully discharged during use, it must be fully charged up again before it is next used.

The battery (C) must be inserted in the motor unit (E) for charging.

  1. Plug the barrel connector of the connecting cable (D) into the charging socket (11).
  2. Connect the mains adapter to a plug socket.
    The charge control lamp (7) starts to fl ash and the battery is charging.
    If the charge control lamp is perma-nently lit, the battery is fully charged.

USE

Please Note!

  • Make sure that there are no large, sharp objects on the surface which is to be cleaned.
  • Note the MAX marking of the dust container. If the marking is reached during use, empty the dust container. Empty and clean the dust container after every use. The fi lters must also be regularly cleaned in order to pre-vent overloading of the motor.
  • Switch off the device after you fi nish cleaning each surface to signifi cantly increase the operating time on each battery charge. Charge up the battery after use (see the “Charging Up the Battery” chapter).

The device cannot be operated when it is connected to the mains power. Disconnect the connecting cable (D) prior to use.

  1. Select a nozzle (see the “Nozzles and Extension Tube” chapter) and plug it into the suction opening (12). You must hear it engage. For a longer reach, plug the extension tube (F) in between.
    • To pull a nozzle or the extension tube out again, press the release but-ton (13).
  2. Switch on the device and guide the nozzle over the area to be cleaned. To switch on at suction level I, press the On / Off switch (9) once. The level I operating lamp (7) lights up.
    • If necessary, the I / II button (8) can be used to switch on level II. The level I and II operating lamps light up. To switch back to level I, press the I / II button again.
  3. To switch off the device, press the On / Off switch again.
  4. To ensure optimum performance of the device, empty and if necessary clean the dust container after every use (see next chapter).

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Please Note!

  • Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. They may damage the surfaces.

The filters may lose some of their colour over time. This is normal and does not have any adverse effect on function.

Emptying the Dust Container

  1. Take the dust container (3) off the motor unit (E): press the release but-ton (14) and lift the dust container off (Picture C).
  2. Hold the dust container over an open dustbin and gently pull up the tab (2) for opening the dust container fl ap (1). The dust container fl ap opens and the dirt drops out.
  3. To close it, press the dust container fl ap onto the dust container. You must hear it engage.

Cleaning the Dust Container, Filter Holder, Metal Filter and H11 HEPA Filter

  1. Take the dust container (3) off the motor unit (E): press the release but-ton (14) and lift the dust container off (Picture C).

  2. Pull out the H11 HEPA fi lter (6) by the handle.

  3. Reach into the dust container and pull out the metal fi lter (4) with the fi lter holder (5).

  4. Twist the metal fi lter anticlockwise and pull it out of the fi lter holder (Picture D1).

  5. Tap out all parts and clean them with a soft brush if necessary.

  6. The filter holder and metal fi lter can also be rinsed with clear water.
    NOTICE: Do not wet-clean the H11 HEPA fi lter!

  7. Wipe the dust container with a damp cloth if necessary and then dry it or allow it to dry in the air. Never as-semble wet or damp components or attach them to the motor unit!

Assembly

  1. Insert the metal filter into the fi lter holder and twist it clockwise until it fits securely (Picture D2).
  2. Insert the fi lter holder with metal fi lter into the dust container so that the two recesses fi t directly above one anoth-er (Picture E). The fi lter holder must fi t correctly in the dust container, it must not stick out at the top.
  3. Place the H11 HEPA fi lter on top of the fi lter holder.
  4. Insert the dust container back into the motor unit. It must engage audibly.

Cleaning the Motor Unit, Extension Tube and Nozzles

  • Wipe down the motor unit (E), exten-sion tube (F) and nozzles with a damp, soft cloth if necessary. Then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Regularly remove hair and fl uff from the nozzles and brushes.

Cleaning the Floor Nozzle
To make it easier to clean, the brush can be removed from the electric fl oor nozzle (I):

  1. Slide the latch fastener on the bottom of the electric floor nozzle towards the small wheel on the electric fl oor nozzle (Picture F1).
  2. Open the latch and remove (Picture F2).
  3. Take out the brush and remove any dirt and contamination.
  4. Reinsert the brush. When you do this, insert the end with the star-shaped recess fi rst.
  5. Insert the latch and slide the latch fastener back in place.

Storage

  • Store the device and accessories in a cool, dry place which is protected from direct sunlight and is out of the reach of children and animals.
  • For easy storage and to save space, the brush nozzle (A) and crevice noz-zle (G) can be secured to the holder for brush and crevice nozzle (H) on the extension tube (F) (Picture G).
  • Hang the motor unit (E) with the suc-tion opening (12) facing downwards into the wall mounting bracket (B).

If the device is not going to be used for a prolonged period, re-move the battery (C) to be on the safe side: Flip up the small clip on the bottom of the battery and pull out the battery downwards (Picture H).
To prevent a deep discharge of the battery, charge it up every 3 months if it is not used for a prolonged period.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps below, contact the customer service department.

Do not attempt to repair an elec-trical device yourself!

The device does not start.
The battery (C) is empty.

  • Charge up the battery.
    The device is connected to the mains power.

  • Disconnect the connecting cable (D).

Low suction force.
The battery (C) is weak.

  • Charge up the battery.
    The dust container (3) is too full.

  • Empty the dust container.
    The filters (4, 6) and / or fi lter holder (5) are dirty.

  • Clean the filters and filter holder.
    The suction opening (12), the nozzle (A, G, I) or the extension tube (F) is blocked.

  • Switch off the device and remove the blockage.
    The dirt particles are too large or too heavy.

  • Switch off the device and remove dirt particles by hand.

Dust escapes from the device during cleaning.
The dust container (3) is not closed correctly.

  • Close the dust container flap (1) until it is heard to engage.
    The filters (4, 6) and / or filter holder (5) are not fi tted correctly.

  • Correct the fit of the filters and the filter holder.

The fi lters (4, 6) and / or fi lter holder (5) are dirty.

  • Clean the filters and filter holder.
    The fi lters (4, 6) are worn or damaged.

  • Replace the filters.

The charge control lamp (7) does not flash when the device is connected to the mains power.
The mains adapter (D) is not inserted in the plug socket correctly or the barrel connector is not inserted in the charging socket (11) of the device correctly.

  • Correct the fit.
    The plug socket is defective.

  • Try another plug socket.

Unusual odour
The device is being used for the first time.

  • A new odour is normal when the device is used for the first time; it disappears after a while.

DISPOSAL

Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner so that it can be recycled.
Remove the battery before the device is disposed of and dispose of it separately from the device at suitable collection points.
This device is governed by the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Do not dispose of the device as normal domestic waste, but rather in an environmentally friendly manner via an offi cially approved waste disposal company.
