WARNING
Always check to make sure the crown liner, neckroll and cheek pad are installed before using the helmet. A helmet without the crown liner and/or cheekpad may increase your risk of serious injury or death.
SPEEDVIEW INTERNAL SUN VISOR
USING THE SUN VISOR
NOTE: THE RETRACTABLE INTERNAL SUNVISOR CAN BE LOWERED AND RETRACTED, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THE FACESHIELD IS UP OR DOWN.
- To lower the sunvisor, simply slide the SpeedView® sunvisor retraction lever towards the back of the helmet.
- To raise the sunvisor, just slide the SpeedView® sunvisor retraction lever towards the front of the helmet.
WARNING
DO NOT attempt to adjust while riding.
KWIKWICK Ill LINER REMOVAL
REMOVING / INSTALLING THE SUN VISOR
NOTE : FIRST, OPEN OUTER SHIELD TO THE HIGHEST POSITION. THEN LOWER THE SUNVISOR TO LOWEST POSSIBLE POSITION.
- Firmly hold the sunvisor with your hand and gently pull one side out away from the helmet to release.
- Repeat to release the opposite side.
- Reverse process for installation.
AERO SKIRT
- The pliable Aero Skirt was designed to reduce wind from entering behind the face shield area, specifically to keep your face warmer in cold weather.
- However, the aero skirt of EXO-TECH EVO series is not removable. It is strongly attached to mouth cover by engineering design because it can take off when you flip-back the chin bar.
CHEEK PADS REMOVAL (EXO-TECH EVO)
Occassionally the interior may require removal for washing or replacement.
- Slide your thumb behind the cheek pad.
- Gently tug the cheek pad away from the helmet interior wall. There are three plastic snaps that require unsnapping. At the same time slide the plastic trim out of the helmet channel.
Repeat this process for both cheek pads. Reverse this process for installation.
CROWN LINER REMOVAL (EXO-TECH EVO)
- Remove the cheek pads.
- At the back of the helmet pull the crown liner away from the shell unsnapping the two snaps.
- Pull the crown liner out of the helmet while gently detaching it from the forehead channel.
Reverse this process for installation.
Note : The aero skirt is not removable. Flip the chin bar back before removing the cheek pads or the crown liner.
NECK ROLL & CHEEK PADS REMOVAL (EXO-TECH EVO CARBON)
Occassionally the neck roll and cheek pads may require removal for washing or replacement.
- Slide your thumb between the neck roll and cheek pad at the area closest to the chin bar area and gently tug the neck roll/cheek pad away from the helmet inferior wall. (There are three plastic clips that will need to be unsnapped away from the chin bar area.)
- Repeat this process for both sides.
Reverse this process for installation.
Once the neck roll/cheek pads are removed you can remove the crown liner component.
CROWN LINER REMOVAL (EXO-TECH EVO CARBON)
Occassionally the crown liner may require removal for washing, replacement or to change sizes.
- Remove the cheek pads.
- At the back of the helmet pull the crown liner away from the shell unsnapping the two snaps.
- Pull the crown liner out of the helmet while gently detaching it from the forehead channel.
Reverse this process for installation.
OPENING THE FLIP-BACK CHIN BAR
- While holding the upper part of chin bar (A) with one finger, push the lever up (B) and away the chin bar from face.
- The shield will be automatically opened while rotating the chin bar. You can lower the shield while the chin bar is tucked in the back.
WARNING
Small neodymium magnets are used to the ratchet mechanism for easier
operation. The magnet force is not very strong, and generally each magnet size
is not considered as dangerous. However, consult your physician before using
if you are a pacemaker wearer and not sure about the effect caused by these
magnets
CLOSING THE FLIP-BACK CHIN BAR
- Lift up the chin bar using the rest of fingers (A) while pushing the back of the helmet (B) with your thumb. Then the chin bar will be able to rotate.
- Rotate the chin bar until the chin bar is closed.
- If the shield is lowered, it will be automatically opened while rotating the chin bar.
- The shield is not automatically closed. You need to close it manually.
WARNING
Be sure to hear the “click” sound to check the two hooks (positioned in red circled area of each side) are properly latched, and the chin bar is securely closed. This is very important for your safety.
LOCKING THE FLIP-BACK CHIN BAR
- Fully open the chinbar, move the locking lever toward chinbar. Then the chin bar would lock.
- Reverse the lever if you want unlock the chin bar.
FACESHIELD REPLACEMENT
- First, fully open the face shield.
- When the face shield is fully opened, put the opener tool (bundled with this manual) into the dent of the shield holder, and lift it up to remove the face shield.
- You can use a flat screwdriver or a coin instead of the opener tool, but we recommend to use the opener tool to avoid scratch.
- When the shield holder is opened, slightly lift up the shield and pull it out.
- Repeat the same process to release the opposite side.
- Reverse the process to install the face shield.
NOTE : FOR SAFETY REASON, THE RATCHET SHOULD NOT BE DISASSEMBLED BY USER. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CONTACT YOUR SCORPION DEALER OR WARRANTY CENTER IF IT IS NECESSARY TO DISASSEMBLE THE RATCHET TO REPAIR YOUR HELMET.
