General Introduction

The SA204 Transmitter is used for integrating the third party detectors into VIAS system and has full control with VIAS APP. It can supply power to the third party detector and notifies when alarm or tamper trigger of the third party detectors to the controller. The SA204 can detect device removal by its own accelerometer.

Main features:

  • 3.3V power output to supply power to the third party detectors;
  • With one tamper input and one alarm input
  • Detection of device removal by accelerometer
  • LED display to indicate tamper, alarm and accelerometer trigger
  • Low battery indication

Pairing to Controller

  1. Insert 3pcs of CR123A battery as shown below.

  2. Locate the learning button. Do not activate pairing on the controller yet.

  3. Press and hold the learning button for more than 3 seconds until the LED flashes moderately in Green then release the button.

  4. Go to VIAS system set up> add device on function list, choose SA204 in pairing on the controller. The LED should stop blinking indicating the pairing process is complete.

CAUTION

  1. Install the transmitter according to the instructions in this manual. The transmitter should be installed inside the detector enclosure or in a sealed box.
    If the transmitter cannot be installed inside the detector body, use an external radio-transparent body.

  2. Do not install the transmitter in a metal body.

  3. Do not install the transmitter under temperature and humidity conditions that exceed the permissible limits for the device.

  4. Do not connect a third party power supply unit to the power terminals. This may damage the device.

  5. Suggest wearing gloves to protect against static electricity when install the transmitter.

APP Configuration Setting

Go to device list, press and hold SA204 icons for 2secs can get into sensor information page, press settings on the top right to get into the following selections.
For the wiring of detector on the transmitter, please follow the instruction of third-party detector manual to make right wired connection.

Operation

The transmitter can be installed inside the third party detector, Connect transmitter to the detector through the power supply output and alarm, tamper input. When triggering of alarm or tamper, the transmitter will emit signal to the controller and send notification to the users.
The transmitter can set the device zone type and behaviors in connection to Alarm Monitoring Center. It can also been classified by rooms or assigned to monitor in different
areas.
The settings are located in sensor information page. Press and hold the device icons for 2 secs on device list can enter for the options of settings.
After SA204 is successfully pairing on the panel, the device led goes off and it will display on the device list of VIAS APP where you can see the device and signal levels of it.
If you have assigned it in the partitions, it will also display the number of partitions it belongs. The unassigned device will indicate “P” that means it’s not belong to any  partition.VIAS SA204 Transmitter - fig
3 If the third-party detector is triggered, the alert icon will be show as below and the triggered of zone will report in notification. The device led will flash 2 times in Red when the event has been triggered.VIAS

When SA204 is moved, the accelerometer detects it’s movement and shown as below to generate an hammer icon the row of indication beside the battery and signal levels the device led flashes 2 times in Red when triggered. Maintenance

Low Battery: When the battery becomes low. The detector will report back to the controller and LED will flash 15 times to indicate low battery condition to the user.
It can be temporarily disabled on sensor information page for maintenance. In the meantime, the event triggered or status of device will be ignored.

Software reporting commands

Power on report| When battery is inserted, it will report power on command to the controller after one minute.

Auto report| When battery is inserted, it will report to controller after 2 minutes. It will report the condition every hour.

Trouble Shooting

Symptoms Possible Cause Recommendation
Device does not work No batteries attached or no power. Check if batteries

are attached or replace with new ones.
Break down| Send it for repair.
Cannot carry out binding or out of control| Binding with controller did not complete successfully.| Bind again using manual binding
Disturbed by other radio waves| Please operate later

Reset to factory default

To reset SA204 back to factory default state:

  1. Press and hold the Learning button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes moderately then release the button.
  2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the Learning button again, this time for more than 6 seconds then release the button.
  3. Re-insert the batteries, if the LED blinks slowly for 30 seconds this implies the device is reset back to factory mode.
