VIAS AN149 On-Off Transceiver Plug Instruction Manual
The AN149-1 On/Off Plug is a transceiver which belongs to the member of UNet series and is fully compatible with any UNet enabled devices. It is designed to control lighting and appliances.
Initial Power Up & Installation
-
Plug this On/Off Plug into a wall outlet near the load to be controlled. The LED on the Plug will be flashing slowly. This implies that the Plug does not memorize any ID code and cannot work with UNet enabled devices.
-
Plug the appliances into the On/Off Plug. There are two outlets at different sides of AN149-1. The appliances plugged into the controllable outlet can be controlled by the On/Off button and remote controller, the other side is non-controlled and acts as a pass-through outlet. Make sure the total load of both sides cannot exceed 1440 watts which means if the load of controllable outlet is changed, the other side will be altered accordingly.
For instance, if the load of controllable outlet is about 1440 watts, the other should be 0 watt; while if the load of controllable outlet is 1200 watts, the other should be 240 watts. -
Turn the button or switch on the load to the ON position
-
To manually turn ON the AN149-1 On/Off Plug, press and release the On/Off button. The indicator LED will turn ON, and the load plugged into the AN149-1 On/Off Plug will also turn ON.
-
To manually turn OFF the AN149-1 On/Off Plug, simply press and release the On/Off button. The indicator LED will turn OFF and the load plugged into the AN149-1 On/Off Plug will also turn OFF.
-
To let AN149-1 work and communicate with the device of UNet network, it is essential that the same ID code is used between on/off Plug and UNet enabled device. For more details about how AN149-1 learns ID code of UNet device, please refer to the section of ID code learning.
Learning ID Code
-
In the front cover, there is an On/Off button with LED indicator (Fig. 1).
Note: This On/Off button serves as a gateway to learn and clear the ID code. -
Keep pressing the button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. A 30-second countdown will start. The Plug is about to learn the ID code.
-
Log into the VIAS account from the APP, and enter the gateway to system main control page.
-
Select Menu List>System Setup>ADD DEVICE>choose “Installation” on Plug. Please follow and complete the instruction on the APP to binding with central gateway.
-
If the Plug learns the ID code properly, the LED indication will be on for 1 second then turn off.
-
When the LED flashes rapidly for 3 times, it is ascribed to the following two conditions:
i. the Plug failed to learn the ID code.
ii. After entering 30-second ID code learning mode, press the button again to exit the ID code learning mode.
Note: At the step 2, if you happen to press the On/Off button for less
than 3 seconds, the Plug will either turn to “On” or “Off” status depending on
the last status of the On/Off button, for instance…
a. If it was toggled as “Off”, the Plug will turn to “On” status. b. If it was
toggled as “On”, the Plug will turn to “Off” status.
The ID code setting is stored in non-volatile memory and is not lost during
power failures. It can be cleared by proceeding with ID code clearance as
indicated below in ID code clearing section.
Up to 12 ID codes can be learned. The Plug’s LED will flash rapidly as
rejection if the 13th ID code is entered.
Clearing ID Code
(1) Press the button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. A 30-second
countdown will start.
(2) Press the button again more than 6 seconds within 30-second countdown, the
preset ID code will be cleared.
Operation
- Toggle the On/Off button for On or Off. Turn on the button of which LED will be on and the incandescent lamps/appliances controlled by the Plug will be on, while pressing the button again will turn off the incandescent lamps/appliances and its LED will be off.
