VIAS AN132 Plug-In On-Off Module

AN132 Plug-In On/Off Module

The AN132 On/Off Module is a transceiver that belongs to the member of the UNet series and is fully compatible with any UNet-enabled devices. It is designed to be controlled by lighting and appliances. When setting to On, it will detect the connected load wattage, thus ensuring safety and security. For instance, when an overload occurs, the Module will be disabled of which LED will flash rapidly for 30 seconds. Unplug and re-connect the plug will restore the Module to Off status.

Product Usage Instructions

Initial Power Up

Plug the On/Off Module to the electrical outlet, the LED on the Module will be flashing slowly. This implies that the Module does not memorize any ID code and cannot work with UNet-enabled devices. However, pressing the On/Off button will control directly the On/Off status of the connected incandescent lamps/appliances.

Learning ID Code

  1. In the front cover, there is an On/Off button with an LED indicator (Fig. 1).

  2. Note: This On/Off button serves as a gateway to learn and clear ID code.
  3. Keep pressing the button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. A 30-second countdown will start. The Module is about to learn the ID code.
  4. On VIAS APP, log into the main page, choose the menu list>System Setup>ADD DEVICE>press Installation on the plug to start binding with gateway. Please follow the instruction wizard on the APP to complete it.
  5. If the Module learns the ID code properly, the LED indication will be on for 1 second then turn off.
  6. When the LED flashes rapidly for 3 times, it is ascribed to the following two conditions:
    • a. the Module failed to learn ID code.
    • b. After entering 30-second ID code learning mode, press the button again to exit the ID code learning mode.
  7. Note: At the step (2), if you happen to press the On/Off button for less than 3 seconds, the Module will either turn to On or Off status depending on the last status of the On/Off button.
    • a. If it was toggled as Off, the Module will turn to On status.
    • b. If it was toggled as On, the Module will turn to Off status.

Since the socket type for each country in Europe varies, refer to the outline for each socket suited for each country as follows:

Note:

  • The ID code setting is stored in non-volatile memory and is not lost during power failures.
  • Up to 12 ID codes can be learned. The Module’s LED will flash rapidly as rejection if the 13th ID code is entered.

  1. Press the button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. A 30-second countdown will start.
  2. Press the button again more than 6 seconds within 30-second countdown, the preset ID code will be cleared.

  5.  When the LED flashes rapidly for 3 times, it is ascribed to the following two conditions:

    • the Module failed to learn ID code.
    • After entering 30-second ID code learning mode, press the button again to exit the ID code learning mode.

Note: At the step (2), if you happen to press the On/Off button for less than 3 seconds, the Module will either turn to “On” or “Off” status depending on the last status of the On/Off button, for instance……

  • If it was toggled as “Off”, the Module will turn to “On” status.
  • If it was toggled as “On”, the Module will turn to “Off” status.

Note:

Operation

  • Toggle the On/Off button between On and Off. Turn on the button of which LED will be on and the lamps/appliances controlled by the Module will be on, while pressing the button again will turn off the lamps/appliances and its LED will be off.
  • When setting to On, the Module will initiate wattage detection function. Upon detecting overload condition, the Module will be switched to Off, the On/Off button will be disabled and the LED will flash rapidly for 30 seconds. Reset the Module by unplugging and re-connecting the plug to the electrical outlet.
