  10. Bring discarded devices to the appropriate collecting points. Prevent children from opening the device

Usage Instructions

Follow these instructions to use the Clean Air Optima air purifier:

  1. Position the device on stable and even ground

  2. For the air to flow correctly, place the device 30 cm from walls and furniture

  3. Make sure that the front air outlet of the device is turned out towards the next wall or piece of furniture. Make sure that the air outlets are not blocked

  4. Plug-in the device

  5. Make sure that the filters are at the right place and that all parts are well fixed to the device

  6. Use the ON/OFF button on the top of the device to switch it on.
    The button lightens up

  7. Use the . / button to determine the level of purification. The LOW, MED, and HI LEDs light up to show which level you have chosen

The air purifier produces negative oxygen ions for 15 seconds and pauses for 105 seconds in the first mode. In the second mode, it produces negative oxygen ions for 60 seconds and pauses for the next 60 seconds. In the third mode, it continuously produces negative oxygen ions.

Before use

Features

  12. The UVAC lamp in the device produces UVAC radiation which can be harmful for skin and eyes during direct contact. Never look directly into the UVAC lamp and never put your face close to the grid at front side or the backside. Stay at least 30 cm away from the air purifier. If you stand closer to the device for a short time, then there is no danger. Never use the lamp for any other purposes.
  13. Just like other ionization devices, this air purifier produces very small amounts of ozone (< 0, 05 particles per million). This substance can also naturally be found in the atmosphere and the levels reached by the CAA-)$ do not harm human health. If you are worried please consult your doctor.

Usage

Positioning

  1. Position the device on stable and even ground.
  2. For the air to flow correctly the device needs to be placed 30 cm from the walls and the furniture.
  3. Make sure that the front air outlet of the device is turned out towards the next wall or piece of furniture. Make sure that the air outlets are not blocked.
  4. Plug in.
  5. Never place the device on unsecured ground.

Operation

  1. Make sure that the filters are at the right place and that all parts are well fixed to the device.

  2. Use the ON/OFF button (POWER) on the top of the device to switch it on. The button lightens up. Use the O•ION button to determine the level of purification. The „LOW“, „MED“, and „HI“ LEDs lighten up and show which level you have chosen.
    LOW The air purifier produces negative oxygen ions for 15 seconds and pauses for 105 seconds. MED The air purifier produces negative oxygen ions for 60 seconds and pauses for the next 60 seconds.
    HI The air purifier produces continuously negative oxygen ions.
    Choose the right setting depending on the size of the room and the degree of air pollution.

  3. Press in the TIMER button to set the time for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 hours. The LEDs on the right side of the button show the chosen time.

  4. Press on the UV button to switch the UV lamp on or off.
    Certified technology The UV sterilization technology has been accepted for more than 50 years as a remedy. It is a secure alternative to reduce the number of bacteria and pollutants in the air.
    Long working life This extremely effective UV lamp only needs to be replaced after around 8‘000 working hours. The lamp functions for around 12 months if you use it constantly (24 hours a day). The lamp can easily be replaced.
    Press on the FAN button (for extra strong purification) to switch the fan on or off.

The device can also be controlled by five buttons on the remote control. These buttons correspond to the buttons on the d evice. The batteries must be placed correctly before you start to use the remote.

Placing and replacing the batteries

  1. Open the section for the batteries at the backside of the remote control.
  2. Position the button cell CRA&),& and pay attention to the correct polarization („+“ = positive, „A6 = negative).
  3. Close the battery case

Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning of the outside of the device

  1. Switch off the device and pull the plug.
  2. Use a soft and humid piece of cloth to clean the device.
  3. Make sure that no water gets into the device.

Pulling out and putting back the rustproof electrostatic filter To pull out the rustproof electrostatic filter:

  1. Switch of the device and pull the plug. Wait for a few minutes.
  2. Press on the opening button on the upper side of the filter and pull the filter out of the device.
    Warning: Do never touch the metal parts of the filter since they  could be loaded electrostatically. Discharge the metal parts before touching them for example on a heater.

Purifier-03 Replacing the electrostatic filter:

  1. Make sure that the plug is pulled out.
  2. Replace the filter into the opening of the device.

Warning. Never put the filter back when it is still wet. Let the filter dry for at least 24 hours if you cleaned it with water.

Cleaning of the rustproof electrostatic filter
The electrostatic steel filter must be cleaned once or twice a week depending on the indoor climate.

  1. Pull the plug.

  2. Take the filter out of the device like described above.

  3. Take the dust away from the metal parts of the filter with a soft and humid cloth.

  4. Remove tenacious dirt with a sponge and some soap.
    Do never put the filter under running water.

  5. Dry the filter carefully and replace it after it is well dried like described above.
    Attention: Do never put the filter back when it is wet.

Cleaning of the ionizer rail
T he UV plasma ionizer air purifier CAA-)$ possesses a cleaning mechanism to scrape clean the r ail of the ionizer. The scraping takes place when the electrostatic filter is taken out and put back i nto the device. Normally, we advise to clean the filter once a week. In order to clean it, pull the electrostatic filter 4A/ times out of the device and put it back.

UV Lampe
The UV lamp of the Clean Air Optima UV plasma ionizer air purifier CAA-)$ has up to 8’000 operating hours = 1 year of usage 24/7. When you need to replace the lamp you can order a new one under: https://www.cleanairoptima.com/productslist/accessoires/

Replacement of the UV lamp

The back cover of the device can be taken away by pressing on the button located at the bottom side of the cover. The cover can then be pulled up. The UV lamp can be taken out with a quarter turn. The new lamp can be screwed in in the same way. Finally, put the cover back into place.

Warning

  1. Do only remove the cover if necessary.
  2. The device does not work if the cover is not correctly placed.

This product cannot be disposed of in normal domestic waste, but must be handed in at a collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic devices. The symbol on the product, the manual or the packaging indicate the procedure.

If the problem is not a material or manufacturing defect, inquiry and repairing costs can be charged.
