Introduction

The Xantrex BLE Module is a communications accessory from Xantrex that enables a Xantrex XPLORE charger to be monitored or controlled wirelessly using a smart device such as a mobile phone.

Only one auxiliary device can be connected at any time. In this diagram, a Xantrex XPLORE charger is connected to the BLE Module.
FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
The device has been evaluated to meet the general RF exposure requirements.
The device can be used in mobile (min 20cm) exposure conditions without restriction.
Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with ISED radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.

Setting Up

How to… Steps
Connect the BLE Module to the XPLORE charger 1. Download the Xantrex App to

the smart device.
iOS: go to the App Store and search for “Xantrex App”.
Android device: go to the Google Play Store and search for “Xantrex App”.
2. Connect the BLE Module to the XPLORE charger. The XPLORE charger is the BLE Module’s power source. The LED will start to flash.
3. Switch to Settings on the smart device.
4. Look for Bluetooth settings.
5. Look for and add Xantrex BLE Module.
6. Open the Xantrex App from the smart device.
Upgrade the BLE Module’s firmware.| 1. Obtain the firmware update file from your Xantrex dealer and unzip the compressed file into your computer’s local hard drive.
2. Rename the firmware file exactly to REMOTE.bin.
3. Plug and format a USB drive to FAT32 (1GB or more) on the PC.
4. Create a new folder on the USB drive called NextGen_Firmware.
5. Move the REMOTE.bin file into the NextGen_Firmware folder.
6. Safely eject the USB drive from the PC.
7. Turn off all loads connected to the Xantrex XPLORE charger.
8. Insert the USB drive into the USB port of the XPLORE charger.
9. Observe during the update that the USB LED will flash yellow during the upgrade process. Once the process is complete, the flashing will stop then turn to either solid green or red for about 5 seconds, and then off. Green means successful and red means the upgrade process was unsuccessful.
10. If the upgrade process was unsuccessful, consider starting over from step 1 and making sure to reformat the USB drive according to step 3.
11. If the upgrade process was successful, remove the USB drive from the USB port of the XPLORE charger.
