Operation

Installation and Operation

Use for setting Blind Rivets If the accessories for setting rivet nuts are installed, equip the device with the accessories for setting blind rivets. To do this, loosen the tie rod guide (9) and the union ring (2) and remove the nosepiece (1) from the device. Be careful not to lose the spring ring in the coupling ring. Pull the knob (13) off the Counterpart (12) and push the pull rod (10) back towards the handles. Unscrew the counterpart (12) and take the pull rod (10) with spring (11) out of the device. Assemble the accessories for setting blind rivets. To do this, insert the clamping wedges (5) into the clamping sleeve (4) in such a way that they form a cone that protrudes from the sleeve to the front. That may take a few tries. Then insert the pressure piece (6) and the spring (7) into the sleeve from behind and screw the assembled clamping unit into the housing. Then place the nosepiece (1) on the housing. The nose on the housing must engage in the recess on the nose piece (1). Secure the nosepiece with the union ring (2). Make sure that the spring washer is in the coupling ring. Insert the guide (3) that matches the blind rivets into the nosepiece. Insert the collecting container (8) into the housing from behind to catch the torn pull wires. Spread the handles of the device apart and insert the pull wire of the blind rivet into the guide. The clamping unit grips the puller wire, and when the handles are brought together, the clamping unit tensions the puller wire and compresses the rivet head and tears off the puller wire when the predetermined pulling torque is reached.
Use for setting Rivet Nuts
If the accessories for setting blind rivets are installed, equip the device with the accessories for setting rivet nuts. To do this, loosen the blind rivet guide (3) and the union ring (1) and remove the nosepiece (1) from the device. Be careful not to lose the spring ring in the coupling ring. Remove the clamping unit from the housing. Be careful not to lose any of the individual parts of the clamping unit. Remove the collecting container (8) from the device. Assemble the accessories for setting rivet nuts. Insert the matching tie rod guide (9) into the nose piece (1). Push the spring (11) over the pull rod (10) and insert the pull rod into the housing from the front. Push the pull rod back against the spring and secure it by screwing on the counterpart (12). The counterpart must be mounted with the hexagon facing forward. Split the knob (13) on the counterpart. The asymmetrical end of the pull rod must engage in the recess in the knob so that the pull rod can be rotated with the knob.
To set rivet nuts, screw the rivet nut, with the device handles spread apart, the end of the pull rod protruding from the guide and push it through the mounting hole provided. Push the device forward and bring the handles together to compress the compressible part of the rivet nut. Then turn the pull rod with the knob to unscrew it from the set rivet nut.
