Dear Customer
The Adjustable Hole Cutter is designed for cutting holes between 20 and 120 mm diameter into wood, chip board, plastic, plaster etc in material of up to 25mm thickness.
Please read this manual thoroughly and keep these operating instructions for future reference.
To avoid accidents, please read the Safety Instructions for the machine and follow the additional safety hints printed below:
The cutting tool is very sharp. Do not touch the cutting edges with your fingers.
Check walls, ceilings etc before drilling to determine whether there are any electrical cables, pipes etc behind the drill area.

Set-up & Use

After removing the tool from the packaging, check whether the Hole Cutter is assembled as shown in the picture above. For smaller hole diameters of up to approx. 90 mm the guidance shaft should be set up as shown in the picture. For diameters over 90 mm place the guidance shaft into the holder with the axle facing outwards. Using this setting cutting diameters of up to 120 mm can be achieved.
Secure the cutter in position by tightening the Inner Hex Screw (2). Make sure that the cutter is positioned exactly perpendicular to the holder and that its upper edge is locked firmly in position against the upper edge of the holder. A cutting depth of approx. 25 mm is attainable with this setting.
Loosen the Screw (1) and adjust the guidance shaft so that the desired cutting diameter, plus an additional 4 mm for the radius of the guidance shaft, is achieved. This is shown in the lower picture as the dimension “r“. (Always measure from outer edge to outer edge of the shaft). For example: The desired hole diameter is 90 mm. Adjust the radius “r” to 45mm plus 4 mm = 49 mm.
Using an 8mm Drill Bit, drill a pilot hole into the material exactly in the middle of the desired hole location.
Insert and fasten the upper guidance shaft (the larger diameter shaft) into the drill and insert the lower guidance shaft into the prepared guidance hole. Check once more that the cutter blade faces the same direction as the direction of rotation of the drill (clockwise direction).
Holding the drill so that the axle of the cutting tool is vertical and using a low rotation speed (less than 500 revs/min), carefully start the cut. Do not push too hard. Allow the cutter do the job.
Cut from one side of the material first and then if possible, from the other side. In this way any surface damage to the material can be avoided when the guidance shaft loses guidance while breaking through. Holes of up to 50 mm material thickness can be cut following this procedure. The cut piece can then be pushed out manually. Burrs may need to be removed afterwards. If you have to cut from one side only, ensure you cut very carefully as you approach the end of the cut, to avoid damaging the surface of the material.
