BEFORE FIRST USE
The first time that you use the toaster, use it without bread. This will pre- heat the new element and burn off any dust collected during the storage process. If your toaster is not plugged in and switched on, the control lever will not lock in the down position.
HOW TO USE YOUR TOASTER
- Only connect the unit to a properly installed and earthed power socket.
- To select the required toasting level, turn the selector clockwise from the lightest level (1) to the darkest level (7). If you are not sure of the level, start at a low level and increase as you become more familiar with the appliance.
- Insert one slice of bread per slot and lower the slot with the lever until it snaps into place.
- The unit will toast the bread and will switch off automatically once the bread is toasted. The toast will pop up automatically.
- Allow the unit to cool down before you put it away.
- To use the special functions: Lower the lever and then press the relevant button-REHEAT, DEFROST, BAGEL or CANCEL. The corresponding LED will illuminate to signal function activation
DEFROST: To defrost and to toast frozen bread.
BAGEL: To warm bread on one individual side.
REHEAT: To warm bread already toasted.
CANCEL: To interrupt and stop the toasting procedure.
IMPORTANT
Never use metal utensils to try to release trapped toast from the slots as it
is highly dangerous to do so and it can damage die appliance. Turn OFF the
mains electrical supply and unplug the appliance. Allow die toaster to cool
down, turn it upside clown and then gently shake to release trapped
toast/bread particles.
CRUMB TRAY
Crumbs will accumulate in the crumb tray and may catch fire if not emptied
periodically. When the toaster has cooled down completely, tap the sides of
the case lightly to dislodge any crumbs lodged in the toasting chamber and
pull out the crumb tray. Empty the tray and replace it.
NOTE: Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray fitted
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Pull the mains plug out of the mains and allow the unit to cool down completely before you clean the unit. Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit. Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaners. Pull the crumb tray out, remove any bits of bread and put the tray back in.
