General power tool safety warnings

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifi cations provided
with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

  • a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of fl ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

  • a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodifi ed plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
  • b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
  • e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
  • f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

  • a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
  • b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
  • c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your fi nger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
  • d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
  • e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
  • f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
  • g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
  • h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

Power tool use and care

  • a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
  • b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
  • c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
  • d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
  • e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
  • f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
  • g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
  • h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Battery tool use and care

  • a) Recharge only with the charger specifi ed by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fi re when used with another battery pack.

  • b) Use power tools only with specifi cally designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fi re.

  • c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like  paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fi re.

  • d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid
    contact. If contact accidentally occurs, fl ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

  • eB) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modifi ed. Damaged or modifi ed batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fi re, explosion or risk of injury.

  • f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fi re or excessive temperature. Exposure to fi re or temperature above 130 °C may cause explosion.

  • g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range specifi ed in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specifi ed range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fi re.

Service

  • a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualifi ed repair person using only
    identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

  • b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Safety notes for electrical die stocks for cutting pipe threads with quick- change die heads

WARNING

  • Do not use the power tool if it is damaged. There is a danger of accident.
    Only use original REMS quick-change die heads and plug-on heads for
    button dies. Other die heads do not guarantee a secure fi t or damage the die head holder of the power tool.

  • Do not use the REMS quick-change die heads S together with extension (accessory art. no. 522051) with an electric die stock for cutting threads. The support bracket (2) does not fi t. There is a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases.

  • Always use a support bracket (2). Otherwise there is a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases.

  • Only use the support bracket (2) that fi ts the electric die stock. The electric die stock could be damaged. There is also a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases.

  • Do not reach into the area of the motor (6), support bracket (2) during operation. Only hold the electric die stock by the motor handle (9). There is a risk of injury.

  • Always work with a retaining ring (11). Otherwise the die head may be pushed out of the die head holder, e.g. during start-cutting.

  • Clamp short pipe sections only with REMS Nippelspanner. Electric die stock and/or tools can be damaged.

  • Thread cutting oils in spray cans (REMS Spezial, REMS Sanitol) contains environmentally friendly but highly infl ammable propellant gas (butane). Aerosol cans are pressurised; do not open by force. Protect these from
    sunlight and heating above 50°C. The spray cans can burst, risk of injury

  • Avoid intensive skin contact with thread-cutting materials because of the degreasing effect. Use skin protectors with a greasing effect or a suitable hand protection.

  • Never let the power tool operate unattended. Switch off the power tool and pull out the mains plug during longer work breaks. Electrical devices can cause hazards which lead to material damage or injury when left unattended.

  • Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge are unable to operate the power tool safely may not use this power tool without supervision or instruction by a responsible person. Otherwise there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.

  • Only allow trained persons to use the power tool. Apprentices may only use the power tool when they are over 16, when this is necessary for their training and when they are supervised by a trained operative.

  • Check the power cable of the power tool and extension leads regularly for damage. Have these renewed by qualifi ed experts or an authorised REMS customer service workshop in case of damage.

  • Only use approved and appropriately marked extension leads with a suffi cient cable cross-section. Use extension leads up to a length of 10 m with cable cross-section 1.5 mm², from 10 – 30 m with cable cross-section 2.5 mm².
    NOTICE

  • Do not dispose of thread-cutting material undiluted in the drain system, ground water and ground. Unused thread-cutting material should be handed in to responsible disposal companies. Waste code for thread-cutting materials containing mineral oil (REMS Spezial) 120106, for synthetic materials (REMS Sanitol) 120110. Waste code for thread cutting materials containing mineral oils (REMS Spezial) and synthetic thread cutting materials (REMS Sanitol) in spray cans 150104. Observe the national regulations.

When cutting taper threads the rated current may increase for a short moment
by about 50 %, without interference of the function ot the unit.

The REMS Amigo and REMS Amigo 2 Compact drive units are equipped  with an overload protection which switches off the motor in case of overloading. In this case, wait a few seconds and press the overload protection button (10). REMS Amigo 22 V is equipped with an electronic overload protection which switches off the motor in case of overloading. The LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) lights/fl ashes red. Work can continue when the LED lights green again. See also section 5. Troubles.

CAUTION
The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration can differ during operation from the indicated value, dependent on the manner in which the device is used. Dependent upon the actual conditions of use (periodic duty) it may be necessary to establish safety precautions for the protection of the operator.

Preparations for Use

WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present! Before connecting the electric die stock, the
rapid charger or the power supply, check whether the voltage given on the
rating plate corresponds to the mains voltage. On building sites, in a wet environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar installation conditions, only operate the electric die stock on the mains with a fault current protected switch (FI breaker) which interrupts the power supply as soon as the leakage current nto earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.

Total discharging by undervoltage The Li-Ion batteries may not drop below a minimum voltage because otherwise the battery could be damaged by “total discharge”, see graduated charging state display. The cells of the REMS Li-Ion battery are delivered pre charged to approx. 40%. Therefore the Li-Ion batteries must be charged before use and recharged regularly. Failure to observe this regulation of the cell manufacturer can lead to damage to the Li- Ion battery by total discharging.

Total discharging due to storage
If a relatively low charged Li-Ion battery is stored, self discharging can lead
to total discharge damage of the battery after longer storage. Li-Ion batteries must therefore be charged before storing and recharged every six months at
the latest and charged again before use.

NOTICE
Charge the battery before use. Recharge Li-Ion batteries regularly to avoid
their total discharge. The rechargeable battery will be damaged by exhaustive discharge.

Only use a REMS rapid charger for charging. New Li-Ion batteries and Li-Ion batteries which have not been used for a long time only reach full capacity after several charges.

Machine status check, REMS Amigo 22 V REMS Amigo 22 V is equipped with an electronic machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) by a 2-coloured green/red LED. The LED lights green when the battery is fully or still suffi ciently charged. The LED lights red when the battery must be charged. If this status occurs during thread cutting, the thread cutting must be completed with a fully charged Li-Ion battery. The LED lights red and the

REMS Amigo 22 V switches off if overloaded. After a short dwell time, the LED lights green again and thread cutting can be continued. The LED fl ashes red if the motor temperature has been exceeded. After a cooling time, the LED lights green again and thread cutting can be continued. The cooling time is reduced when the REMS Amigo 22 V is operated in idle mode. The LED lights red if an impermissible battery has been inserted. If the REMS Amigo 22 V is not being used, the LED goes out after approx. 2 hours but comes on again when the device is switched back on.

Graduated charging state display (Fig. 7 (24)) of the Li-Ion 21.6 V battery
The graduated charging state display shows the charging state of the battery
with 4 LEDs. At least one LED lights for a few seconds after pressing the key
with the battery symbol. The more LEDs that light green, the higher the charging state of the battery. If a LED fl ashes red, the battery must be charged. Rapid charger (art. no. 571585, accessory art. no. 571587)

The left control lamp lights up and remains green when the mains plug is plugged in. If a battery is inserted in the rapid charger, the green control lamp fl ashes to indicate that the battery is charging. The green light stops fl ashing and remains on to signal that the battery is fully charged. If the red control lamp fl ashes, the battery is defective. If a red control lamp comes on and stays on, this indicates that the temperature of the rapid charger and/or the battery is outside the permissible operating range of the rapid charger of 0 °C to +40 °C.

NOTICE
The rapid chargers are not suitable for outdoor use.

Inserting the REMS quick-change die heads or plug-on heads for button dies

Only use the original quick-change die heads or plug-on heads for button dies.
Up to thread size 1¼” the die heads are inserted into the octagonal seat of the drive unit from the front (Fig. 2). They snap in automatically.

The die heads protude the back of the housing. This facilitates taking the die head out of the drive unit by jolting the protuding edge against a plain surface or edge (fi g. 3)

Inserting the REMS quick-change die head size 1″ in REMS Amigo E (Fig. 6) , REMS Amigo 22 V (Fig. 7) The groove in the octagon of the 1″ quick- change die head must be in line with the locking pin (14) in the octagonal seat of the REMS Amigo E. Inserting the REMS quick-change die heads sizes 1½” and 2″ in the REMS Amigo 2 and REMS Amigo 2 Compact drive units (Fig. 4) Remove the retaining ring (11) with a suitable tool, e.g. screwdriver. CAUTION
Do not work without a retaining ring (11)! There is otherwise a danger of the die head being pushed out of the die head seat during start-cutting.

Preparations for Use

  1. Clamp the REMS quick-change die head in the vice with the octagonal  seat.
  2. Remove countersunk screws (15) and cover (16).
  3. Knock out the REMS dies (17) carefully to the centre of the die head body.
  4. Knock the REMS dieheads (17) with the start cutting edge (A) towards  the bottom into the corresponding slots to the extent that they do not protrude beyond the outer diameter of the die head body (18). The dies (17) and die head bodies (18) are numbered. Die 1 in slot 1, die 2 in slot 2, die 3 in slot 3 and die 4 in slot 4.
  5.  Fit the cover (16) and tighten the countersunk screws (15) lightly.
  6. Carefully knock the dies (17) outwards with a soft pin (copper, brass or hard wood) until they are in contact with the edge of the cover.
  7. Tighten the countersunk screws (15)

If a thread is to be cut on a short length of laid pipe, the quick-change die heads S of the REMS eva must be used with an additional pipe guidance (19) on the cover side.

If a thread is to be cut on a short length of laid pipe, the REMS quick-change
die heads S must be used with an additional guide sleeve (19) on the cover side

WARNING
Do not use the REMS quick-change die heads S together with extension (Art.-No. 522051) with an electric die stock for cutting threads. The support bracket (2) does not fi t. There is a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases.

Changing dies in the REMS quick-change die head S (Fig. 9)

  1. Clamp the REMS quick-change die head S in the vice with the octagonal seat.
  2. Remove countersunk screws (15) and cover for quick-change die head S (20) with guide sleeve (19) (do not remove the guide bushing).
  3. Knock out the REMS dies (17) carefully to the centre of the die head body.
  4. Knock the REMS dieheads (17) with the start cutting edge (A) towards the bottom into the corresponding slots to the extent that they do not protrude beyond the outer diameter of the die head body (18). The dies (17) and die head bodies (18) are numbered. Die 1 in slot 1, die 2 in slot 2, die 3 in slot 3 and die 4 in slot 4.
  5. Fit the cover for quick-change die head S (20) with pipe guide (19) and tighten the countersunk screws (15) lightly.
  6. Carefully knock the dies (17) outwards with a soft pin (copper, brass or hard wood) until they are in contact with the edge of the cover.
  7. Tighten the countersunk screws (15).

Support bracket
The support bracket (2) serves to support the die stock against torque in both
directions, i. e. for advance and reverse rotation of the die head, for right and
left hand threads.

WARNING
Always use a support bracket. Otherwise there is a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases. Only use the support bracket (2) that fi ts the electric die stock. The electric die stock could be damaged. There is also a danger of the electric die stock being torn from the hand and spinning round as the torque increases.

Dual purpose holder (Fig. 8)
For cutting threads with REMS Amigo E, REMS Amigo, REMS Amigo 2 and
sawing with electric pipe reciprocating saws REMS Tiger ANC, REMS Tiger

ANC VE and REMS Tiger ANC SR.

The dual purpose holder (Fig. 8) is screwed to a workbench and serves to support the torque which occurs when cutting threads in both directions, i.e. in forward and reverse direction of the REMS quick-change die head for right and left hand threads. The retaining pin (B) is provided to hold the listed REMS Tiger ANC, REMS Tiger ANC VE and REMS Tiger ANC SR. Pipes/rods can be cut at right angles.

Thread-cutting oils

Only use REMS thread cutting materials. They ensure perfect cutting results, long life of the dies and considerably relieve stress on the tools. REMS recommends the practical and economical spray can/spray bottle.

NOTICE
REMS Spezial: High-alloy mineral oil-based thread-cutting material. For all materials: steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics. Can be washed out with water, tested by experts. Mineral oil-based thread cutting materials are not approved for drinking water pipes in different countries, e.g. Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Mineral oil-free REMS Sanitol must be used in this case. Observe the national regulations.

REMS Sanitol: Mineral oil-free, synthetic thread-cutting material for drinking water pipes. Completely soluble in water. According to regulations. In

Germany DVGW test no. DW-0201AS2032, Austria ÖVGW test no. W 1.303, Switzerland SVGW test no. 7808-649. Viscosity at –10°C: ≤ 250 mPa s (cP). Pumpable up to –28°C. Easy to use. Dyed red for checking washout. Observe the national regulations.

Both thread cutting materials are available in aerosol cans, spray bottles, canisters and barrels.

NOTICE
All REMS thread cutting materials may only be used in undiluted form!

Operation

Working procedure

  1. Cut pipe/rod at a right angle and burr-free.
  2. Fix the support bracket (2) about 10 cm from the end of the pipe or rod by putting the support bracket from underneath against the pipe (rod) (Fig. 5) so that it is centred between the prism clamping jaw (3) and the feed screw (4). Tighten the clamping spindle tightly with the lever.
  3. Spray thread cutting oil (REMS aerosol can or spray bottle) onto the threading section (see 2.6.).
  4. Place the drive unit on the pipe (rod) with the REMS quick-change die head inserted so that the motor (6) (see Fig. 1) in REMS Amigo E, REMS Amigo, REMS Amigo 2, REMS Amigo 2 Compact, REMS Amigo 22 V comes to rest between the forks of the support bracket.
  5. Adjust the rotation ring/slide (7) to the requested rotation (R for right hand threads or reverse rotation for left hand threads, L for left hand thread or reverse rotation for right hand threads).
  6. Press safety tip switch (8) while holding the motor handle (9), press the die  stock on the handle (5) against the material. After 1 or 2 threads the die heads continue to cut automatically.
  7. Lubricate several times with thread-cutting oil (REMS aerosol can or spray bottle) during thread-cutting.
  8. The standard length for tapered threads is reached when the front edge of the pipe is fl ush with the upper edge of the dies (not top of the cover).
  9. When the desired thread length is reached, release the safety tip switch (8).
  10. When the unit stops rotating turn the rotation ring/slide (7) into reverse. The quick-change die head (1) is run off the thread by pressing the safety tip switch (8) again.

NOTICE
Only switch the rotation ring/slide (7) when the machine is at standstill!

Production of nipples and double nipples

For clamping short pieces of pipes and for the production of nipples and double nipples use REMS Nippelspanner. They are available in sizes from ⅜ to 2″ For clamping pipe pieces (with or without thread) with the REMS Nippelspanner the head of the Nippelspanner is expanded by turning the spindle (21) with a tool (e.g. screwdriver). This must only be done when a pipe is put on (Fig. 5).
Operation

When using the REMS Nippelspanner it must be observed that no shorter nipples are threaded than specifi ed in the standards

Maintenance

Notwithstanding the maintenance described below, it is recommended to send
in the power tool to an authorised REMS contract customer service workshop for inspection and periodic testing of electrical devices at least once a year. In Germany, such periodic testing of electrical devices should be performed in accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702 and also prescribed for mobile electrical equipment according to the accident prevention rules DGUV, regulation 3 “Electrical Systems and Equipment”. In addition, the respective national safety provisions, rules and regulations valid for the application site must be considered and observed.

Maintenance
WARNING
Pull out the mains plug before maintenance work!
Clean the drive unit and die head seat regularly especially when this has not been in use for a long time.

Clean heavily soiled REMS quick-change die heads (1) with turpentine oil for
example and remove stuck chips. Clean the drive unit and the holder of the REMS quick-change die heads from time to time.

Clean plastic parts (e.g. housing) only with REMS CleanM machine cleaner
(art. no. 140119) or a mild soap and a damp cloth. Do not use household cleaners. These often contain chemicals which can damage the plastic parts. Never use petrol, turpentine, thinner or similar products for cleaning.

Make sure that liquids never get onto or inside the drive unit. Never immerse the drive unit in liquid.

Inspection/repair

Pull out the mains plug before carrying out maintenance or repair work! This work may only be performed by qualifi ed personnel.

The gear runs in a life-long grease fi lling and therefore needs no lubrication. The drive machine motor has carbon brushes. These are subject to wear and must therefore by checked and changed by qualifi ed specialists or an authorised REMS customer service workshop from time to time. In the batteryoperated drive units, the carbon brushes of the motor are subject to wear. These cannot be replaced; the DC motor must be replaced.

Faults

Fault: Electric die stock does not pull through, overload protection (10) triggers off.
Cause

  • Not original REMS quick-change die heads
  • REMS dies are blunt.
  • Unsuitable thread-cutting material
  • Worn carbon brushes.
  • Mains lead defective
  • Electric die stock defective
  • Battery depleted or defective (REMS Amigo 22 V)

le thread, threads are ripping off. Cause:

  • REMS dies are blunt
  • REMS dies inserted incorrectly.
  • Unsuitable or insuffi cient thread-cutting material.
  • Pipe material is unsuitable for thread cutting

Fault: Thread is cut skew to the pipe axis. Cause:

  • Pipe not cut at a right angl

Fault: Pipe slips in support bracket (2). Cause:

  • Pipe not clamped tightly enough in support bracket.
  • Prismatic clamping jaw (3) heavily soiled.
  • Teeth of the prismatic clamping jaw (3) worn.

Fault: Die stock hits the support bracket (2). Cause:

  • Support bracket fi xed too close to the end of the pipe or rod.
  • Long thread cut without re-tightening.

Fault: Electric die stock does not start. Cause:

  • Rotation ring/slide (7) not snapped into position

  • Overload protection (10) has triggered (REMS Amigo, REMS Amigo 2 Compact).

  • Worn carbon brushes.

  • Mains lead defective

  • Electric die stock defective

  • Battery (Fig. 7 (23)) depleted or defective (REMS Amigo 22 V).

  • LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) lights red (REMS Amigo 22 V).

  • LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) lights red due to overload
    (REMS Amigo 22 V)

  • LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) fl ashes red due to exceeded motor temperature (REMS Amigo 22 V).

Remedy

  • Only use REMS quick-change die heads.\
  • Change REMS dies, see 2.3.
  • Use REMS Spezial or REMS Sanitol thread-cu
  • Have the carbon brushes or DC motor changed by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
  • Have the mains lead replaced by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS customer service worksho
  • Have the electric die stock checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer service workshop
  • Charge the battery with the rapid charger or change the battery

Remedy

  • Change REMS dies, see 2
  • Observe numbering of the REMS dies to the slot number of the die head body (18), see 2.3, change die heads if necessa
  • Use suffi cient, undiluted quantity of REMS Spezial or REMS Sanitol threadcutting oil, see 3.1
  • Only use approved pipes.

Remedy

Cut pipe at right angle, e.g. with dual purpose holder (accessory art. no. 543100, Fig. 8) and REMS Tiger ANC, REMS Tiger ANC VE, REMS Tiger ANC SR or with REMS RAS St, REMS Turbo K, REMS Cento.

Remedy

  • Make the clamping spindle (4) tighter
  • Clean the prismatic clamping jaw with a wire brush for example.
  • Change the support bracket (2).

Remedy:

  • Fix the support bracket about 10 cm from the end of the pipe or rod, see 3.1.
  • Switch the electric die stock off when it approaches the support bracke

Remedy

  • Snap in rotation ring/sli
  • Wait a few seconds then press the button of the overload protection
  • Have the carbon brushes or DC motor changed by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
  • Have the mains lead replaced by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
  • Have the electric die stock checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer service workshop
  • Charge the battery with the Li-Ion rapid charger or change the battery
  • Unsuitable battery inserted. Usable batteries, see 1.5.
  • Wait a few seconds until the LED lights green
  • Wait until the LED lights green. Switch on REMS Amigo 22 V and let it run without load to shorten the cooling time.

Disposal

The electric die stocks, batteries and rapid chargers may not be thrown ion the household waste when they are fi nished with. They must be disposed of properly by law. Lithium batteries and battery packs of all battery systems may only be disposed of in the discharged state, all contacts of incompletely discharged lithium batteries and battery packs must be covered with insulating tape.

Manufacturer’s Warranty

The warranty period shall be 12 months from delivery of the new product to the fi rst user. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of the original purchase documents, which must include the date of purchase and the designation of the product. All functional defects occurring within the warranty period, which are clearly the consequence of defects in production or materials, will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of defects shall not extend or renew the warranty period for the product. Damage attributable to natural wear and tear, incorrect treatment or misuse, failure to observe the operational instructions, unsuitable operating materials, excessive demand, use for unauthorized purposes, interventions by the customer or a third party or other reasons, for which REMS is not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty

Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service stations authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be accepted if the product is returned to a customer service station authorized by REMS without prior interference and in a fully assembled condition. Replaced products and parts shall become the property of REMS.

The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the product.

Internet under www.rems.de. For countries which are not listed, the product
must be sent to the SERVICE-CENTER, Neue Rommelshauser Strasse 4,
71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland. The legal rights of the user, in particular the
right to make claims against the seller in case of defects as well as claims due to wilful violation of obligations and claims under the product liability law are not restricted by this warranty.

This warranty is subject to German law with the exclusion of the confl ict of laws rules of German International Private Law as well as with the exclusion of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods (CISG). Warrantor of this world-wide valid manufacturer’s warranty is REMS GmbH & Co KG, Stuttgarter Str. 83, 71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland.
