USING THE APPLIANCE

Open the lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of water. Never fill above the maximum mark.

Close the lid and make sure the kettle is off before placing it on the base. Make sure the lid is properly closed, otherwise the kettle will not stop automatically once the water is boiled.

An automatic shut-off system has been installed to protect the appliance from overheating. It will be activated if the kettle is switched on when it does not contain enough water. If the automatic shut-off system is triggered, switch the kettle off, unplug it and leave to cool for 5-10 minutes. Then fill up again with water and switch back on: the kettle should boil and turn off again normally.

Place the electric base on a dry, flat surface. Place the kettle on top of the base. The electrical connection will be made automatically as soon as the kettle is placed on the electric base.

Plug the power cable into a grounded socket, and turn the kettle on by pressing the ON/OFF switch. The indicator light will switch on.

Once the water has boiled, the kettle and indicator light will switch off automatically. After the kettle has been left to cool for 15-20 seconds, the water can be boiled again by pressing the ON/ OFF switch. During the cooling period, do not press the ON/OFF switch as this may damage the operating mechanism.

Do not remove the kettle from the base until it has been switched off. You can pour water without opening the lid.If you want to stop the boiling process or suspend it temporarily, switch the appliance off by manually lifting the On/Off switch before removing the kettle from the base.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Please follow the safety instructions below:

– Always unplug the appliance before cleaning the base.
– Leave the kettle to cool completely

After using for the first time, clean the kettle by filling it with clean water and bringing it to boil. Empty the water and repeat.

Clean the outside of the kettle and base with a soft damp cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive products or sponges.

Descale the inside of the kettle regularly. Use a lime scale removal product and follow its instructions for use.

You can also fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and top up to the maximum level with water. Leave to act overnight without turning the appliance on. Empty the kettle.

If necessary, wipe away traces of remaining scale with a damp cloth.

Refill the kettle with fresh water. Bring to the boil and empty. Repeat this a second time.
