User’s guide

SAFETY WARNING

Read these instructions carefully before using the device and keep them so you can refer to them later. If you give the device to a third party please put it back with its instructions. When using electrical appliances, it is always necessary to follow basic safety precautions in order to reduce the risk of electric shock and/or injury to people.

  • The appliance is for household use only. Do not use outdoors. Any other (professional) use is excluded.

  • Before plugging the device, make sure the electrical voltage in your home matches the device’s nameplate.

  • If an electric extension cord is used, it must be with the built-in ground and must withstand the power of the device.

  • The socket should always remain accessible when the device is plugged in.

  • Don’t use the device:
    – if the socket or power cable is damaged.
    – in case of malfunction.
    – if the device has been damaged in any way, return it to the after-sale service where it will be inspected and repaired. No repairs can be made by the user.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Always unplug your device after each use and before cleaning and storage.

  • Don’t move the device when it’s working. When you need to unplug the power cable, always pull the plug but not pull the cable itself.

  • Never let the device operate unattended.

  • Never immerse the device and the cable in water or any other liquid.

  • Do not put this device near any heat source such as a gas or electric cook oven or any other device producing heat.

  • Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
    ATTENTION: accessible surfaces can become very hot during the operation of the device.
    Never touch metal parts that are very hot when in use: you may burn yourself!

  • Never leave your device in a humid place.

  • Do not handle the device or power cable with wet hands.

  • Do not touch the surfaces during use, and do not let the power cable come into contact with the hot surfaces of the device.

  • Don’t use the device as extra heating.

  • Always put the device on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • Never place your device on a fragile support (glazed furniture, glass table, etc.) or soft, heat-resistant support.

  • Do not operate the device under a wall cabinet or near flammable products or inflammable materials (paper, cardboard, etc.).

  • Leave a minimum of 15 cm of free space around the device when it works.

  • Never cover the device with aluminum foil and never place dishes, plates, etc on the cooking surface.

  • Use only the accessories provided with this device. Any misuse or not complying with this instruction may lead to a danger to the user and may damage the device.

  • The device is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning.

  • The heating element on the inner side of the base becomes very hot. And the surface is subject to residual heat after use. Never touch this, you can get very serious burns.

  • To clean surfaces which contact with food please refer to the section “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE”.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Remove all packaging of the device.
Check if the voltage of the appliance corresponds to the main voltage of your home. Rated voltage: 220-240V~50/60Hz. The socket must be at least 16A or 10 A slow-protected.
Place the device on a flat stable surface and ensure a minimum of 15 cm. free space around the device. This device is not suitable for installation in a cabinet or for outside use.
Wash all before using the device for the first time all loose parts in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly below.
The slow cooker has two power settings: LOW, HIGH, and WARM.
Use the recommended guidelines offered in the recipe being used to determine the cooking time and power setting.

Prepare the recipe according to the instructions. Place food into the cooking pot and cover.
Plug the slow cooker into an electrical outlet and select LOW, HIGH or
WARM setting. Slow cooking will commence. The power on the indicator will illuminate.
Always cook with the lid on.
RECIPES
Portuguese Garlic Chicken
1 medium onion, finely sliced
6 cloves of garlic, finely sliced
2 medium tomatoes cut into quarters 1/3 cup of chopped roast ham
1/2 cup of raisins (Golden Raisins)
1.7 kg chicken 1/2 cup of Port
1/2 cup of Brandy
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons of tomato puree
1.5 teaspoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of cold water
1 teaspoon of red wine vinegar parsley sprigs salt
ATTENTION:
To avoid burning, use a glove or handle to remove the lid. Grasp the appliance by the handles.
After each use, place the control knob to the ” 0 ” position and unplug the device from the power socket. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Never immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
Never use scouring powder or abrasive tampon.
Cleaning accessories
Soak the accessories in hot water with dishwashing products. Clean with a soft sponge. Rinse with clear water and dry with a soft cloth
Cleaning the device
Clean the inside of the appliance with a soft cloth, taking care to remove the other dry materials which stuck on the pot. Make sure you won’t make the water go inside the device. Don’t spray anything on the device.
Never immerse the device in water or any other liquid and never place it in the dishwasher!
