Description Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus

The Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus is a client PC NVMe SSD with Samsung’s latest 3-bit MLC V-NAND. The 970 EVO Plus is specially designed for tech enthusiasts, hardcore gamers, and professionals who need unrivaled performance, and superior reliability, and it boasts the best-in-class capacity for intensive workloads on PCs and workstations.

Unrivaled Performance

In combination with the latest Samsung V-NAND technology and firmware optimization, the 970 EVO Plus achieves random write speeds up to 57% faster than the 970 EVO. Also, it offers industry-leading sequential performance among NVMe SSDs with read/write speeds of up to 3,500/3,300 MB/s, respectively. The 970 EVO Plus performance will be the industry-leading and maximum within the current PCIe Gen3 interface.

Superior Reliability

The 970 EVO Plus boasts exceptional endurance with up to 600 terabytes 1 written. Advanced thermal control solutions enhance performance with reduced heat risk. Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG) technology proactively prevents overheating, and a heat spreader with an integrated thin copper film dissipates heat more efficiently. A nickel coating on the Phoenix controller also helps to dissipate heat faster during heavy workload use in order to ensure the high levels of quality and reliability for which Samsung is known. The 970 EVO Plus comes with an industry-leading 5-year warranty.

  1. All documented endurance test results are in compliance with JESD218 standards. Please visit www.jedec.org for detailed information.

System Design Flexibility

The 970 EVO Plus enables convenient storage expansion across many different devices. The 970 EVO Plus comes in a broad range of capacity options, made possible through Samsung’s latest V-NAND technology. In addition, the 970 EVO Plus offers high power efficiency as well as exceptional speeds, making it the ideal solution to use with applications ranging from ultra-thin computing to high-performance computing systems.

Advanced-Data Encryption

The 970 EVO Plus provides multiple advanced data encryption features like Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) security technology that will help keep data safe at all times. The 970 EVO Plus includes an AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption engine to ensure that your personal files remain secure. The 970 EVO Plus is compliant with various advanced security management solutions (such as TCG Opal and Encrypted Drive-IEEE1667).

Samsung Data Migration and Magician Software

Samsung Magician and Data Migration software support the 970 EVO Plus. These powerful software programs offer consumers an easy way to manage their Samsung SSDs. With Magician, users can instantly gain an overview of critical drive information and compatibility issues. Users will find and implement the process of keeping their firmware, drivers, and other settings up to date easier than ever. The Samsung Data Migration software is simple to use – yet provides a very powerful “Custom Cloning” feature that enables migration work even when source data is greater than the SSD’s capacity.

Samsung’s SSD 970 EVO Plus is a great option for installation in a gaming rig or high-end PC update because it is less expensive and just as competent as its predecessor.

Does the 970 EVO Plus meet your needs?

The 970 EVO Plus easily earns our recommendation because it is one of the quickest SSDs we’ve evaluated overall. The 970 EVO is a great drive and definitely merits your attention, even though at the time of publication it didn’t quite beat the competition and make our list of the best SSDs.

What is the power consumption of a 970 EVO Plus?

Samsung claims that the 970 Evo Plus should only use 30 mW while inactive, increasing to 5 W for the 250 GB device and 6 W for the 1-TB variant when under stress. For reading data, the SSD should use between 5 and 5.5 W.

The Samsung Evo is so wonderful, why?

The Final Verdict. The Samsung SSD 870 EVO provides the highest level of Serial ATA SSD performance and performs 4K random read and write operations so quickly that it might almost be mistaken for PCI Express 3.0.

Are there two sides to the Samsung 970 EVO Plus?

Single-sided 1TB M. 2 2280 M-Key PCIe NVMe SSD from Samsung’s 970 EVO Plus Series (MZ-V7S1T0BW)

The Samsung 970 EVO Plus has two sides, right?

Using single-sided SSDs in the small M. 2 (2280) form factor, the 970 series is available in a wide variety of capacities, ranging from 250GB to 2TB. The 970 EVO Plus speeds are faster, which results in better power efficiency.

What is the 970 EVO Plus generation?

2614 reviews, 4.9 out of 5 stars by users.

Runs the 970 EVO hot?

Rapid mode is supported by the 970 EVO?

The 970 EVO lacks support for RAPID Mode, which is exclusively available in SATA drives, just like other Samsung NVMe drives.

The 970 EVO Plus has a cache, right?

The single-sided Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M. 2 SSD 500GB has a DRAM cache and is in the M. 2 2280 form factor. It supports PCI-Express 3.0 x4 and the NVMe 1.3 protocol.

How many pins are required for a 970?

The system power supply of at least 500 W, with two 6-pin PCI Express auxiliary power connectors. Make sure you satisfy all the system requirements specified on page 2 before unpacking your new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card to ensure a smooth installation.

What amount of RAM does a 970 have?

The GTX 970 features 512MB of much slower 28GB/s Memory in a second partition and 3.5GB of RAM working at 196GB/s in one partition. The quicker Memory is automatically given priority by the Nvidia driver, which only uses the slower partition when absolutely necessary.
