SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully. Failure to follow the relevant warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire or other serious injuries. Please keep this manual for future reference.

Precautions to keep in mind before operation

• The use of battery packs and chargers that are not marked or approved by the manufacturer may lead to a fire or an explosion which may cause serious, even fatal, injuries and property damage.
• The use of chain saws, battery packs and chargers beyond their intended use can cause serious or fatal injuries and property damage.

Operator requirements

Warning: Persons that have not read and understood fully the contents of the manual, they must be prohibited from using or touching the chain saw, battery pack and charger. Otherwise, the uninformed person may cause serious injury or death to himself or others.

Ensure that the operators of this electric tool fulfill the following requirements:

• Persons using this power tool must be in a stable physical, mental and psychological condition. If  operators are not in a healthy condition, please ensure that they are supervised.
• The operator must be an adult.
• Operators of this power tool must not be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
• It is important that first time users of this power tool practice on a sawhorse or saw bracket.

Dressing and protection requirements

• Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothes or accessories. Keep clothes, gloves and hair away from moving parts. Loose clothes, ornaments or long hair may be caught in moving parts.
• Chips or other sawdust may be ejected at high speeds during operation of the chain saw, which may cause physical injury or allergic reactions.
• Please wear goggles during operation.
• It is recommended to wear a protective mask.
• Wear long clothing and trousers with a protective cutting level. The higher the speed of the chain saw, the higher the protective cutting level must be.
• Falling objects from high altitudes can cause head injuries.
• Inappropriate clothing may get caught on branches, which will hinder and affect the use of the chain saw. The wearing of inappropriate clothing can cause serious injuries to the operator.
• Please wear tight-fitting clothing.
• Please remove items such as scarves and jewelry.
• Operators must not hover their hands too close to the running saw chain, or serious injury may result.
• Please wear protective gloves when working or when cleaning the power tool and the chain.
• Operators may slip or fall when wearing improper shoes.
• Please wear chain saw protective boots. The higher the speed of the chain saw, the higher the protection level of the boots must be.

WORKING AREA REQUIREMENTS

The chain saw is safe if it meets the following conditions:

• The chain saw is not damaged.
• The chain saw is clean and dry.
• The chain saw handle is intact.
• The chain saw trigger switch is operating normally.
• The depth of the tooth groove between the sprocket and the chain should not exceed 0,5mm.
• The assembly of the guide plate and chain is in accordance with the instructions of this manual.
• The guide plate and chain are well assembled.
• The chain is tensioned normally.
• The chain saw has accessories installed that are made by the manufacturer.
• The accessories are assembled normally

Warning: If the product no longer meets the safety requirements, the parts cannot perform properly or the safety mechanism cannot work normally, serious and even fatal injuries can result.

• The chain saw must only be used if it is in good condition. If the chain saw is dirty or wet, please clean and then let it dry.
• Do not modify the chain saw in any way.
• If the control system does not work properly, please do not use the chain saw.
• Only use accessories provided by our factory.
• Install the guide plate and chain according to the instructions of the manual.
• For the installation of accessories, please refer to the steps in the manual.
• Don’t insert anything into the chain saw.

The guide plate is safe if it meets the following conditions:

• The functions of the guide plate are intact.
• The guide plate is not deformed or damaged.
• There is no obvious change in the depth of the guide plate groove.
• The guide rail is smooth and free of burrs.
• There is no shrinkage or cracking in the guide groove.

Warning: If the guide plate is not intact or the guide plate cannot fit the chain well, there is a danger that the chain will eject out of the guide and cause serious or even fatal injuries.

• Only use undamaged guide plates.
• If the guide plate groove is less than the minimum depth, please replace the guide plate with a new one.
• Please remove the stains on the guide plate after operating the chain saw.

The chain is safe if it meets the following conditions:

• The chain is not broken.
• The cutting edge of the chain blade is sharp.
• The cutting depth of the cutting edge of the chain cutter head conforms to the service mark description.
• The cutting edge length of the cutter head meets the grinding standard.

Warning: If the parts do not meet the safety standards, they will not be able to perform properly and the safety devices will fail, resulting in serious personal injury or even death.

OPERATION PRECAUTIONS

Cutting precautions

• Operators must concentrate on the work, otherwise they may trip or fall, leading to serious injury.
• Keep calm and work with a plan.
• Please do not use the chain saw in dim areas with low visibility.
• Do not hold the chain saw above your shoulder height during operation.
• Beware of obstacles.
• While operating the chain saw, keep your balance and maintain a proper posture.
• If the workpiece is in an elevated position, please use a lift or safe scaffolding.
• Do not touch the saw chain when it is in motion.
• The temperature of the saw chain in operation increases. If the saw chain cannot be effectively cooled and re-tensioned, the saw chain may eject from the guide plate and cause it to break. This can cause serious injury and property damage.
• Ensure that the saw chain is properly lubricated.
• Check whether the saw chain tension is properly tensioned during operation. If the saw chain is not properly tensioned, please adjust it.
• If the chain saw starts abnormally and runs abnormally, the chain saw may not be safe to use and can cause serious personal injury or property damage. Stop working and contact the dealer.
• The chain saw vibrates when it is running. Please wear gloves. Turn off the power tool. If the operator suffers from a physical condition, consult a doctor.
• If the running saw chain hits a hard object, sparks will be generated. Sparks can cause a fire in an area with combustible materials. This can cause serious injury and property damage. Do not use the chain saw in an area with combustible materials.
• When you release the trigger, the chain saw will continue running for a short while and can cause serious injury. The operator must wait for the saw chain to stop moving completely.

Warning: If the tree is under tension, the guide plate may be pinched. The user will lose control of the chain saw, resulting in serious injury. (Figure 1)

• First cut a force-relief groove from the taut side (1), and then cut it on the side that prevents loosening (2).

Logging precautions

• Inexperienced personnel are prohibited from approaching dangerous logging sites, otherwise serious or fatal personal injury and/or property damage may be caused.

1. Please do not log alone.

• The branches or other objects from the fallen trees may fall on the bystanders, causing serious injury and/or property damage.

1. Consider the direction of the tree and cut it in such a way as to ensure that it falls cleanly.
2. Bystanders, children and animals are not allowed to stay within 2,5 tree lengths.
3. Observe the canopy of the tree and the canopy of adjacent trees to ensure that there is no interference from branches when the canopy falls.

• When the tree falls, the trunk may break or bounce toward the operator, potentially causing serious or fatal injuries.

1. Plan the escape route around.
2. Observe the direction in which the tree fell and escape to the planned escape route.
3. Don’t go uphill.

• Obstacles on the work site or escape route will hinder people trying to escape. People fleeing may fall, leading to serious or fatal injuries.

1. Clean up obstacles in the work area and escape route.

• If there are fixed chains or stabilizing ropes on the trunk, the tree may fall uncontrollably and prematurely, causing serious or fatal injury and/or property damage to the operator.

1. Do not use hairpin chains.
2. Use a stable rope.
3. If the tree falls prematurely: Please stop logging and evacuate along the escape route.

• When cutting, if the head of the guide plate touches the object or the wood clamps and squeezes the chain, it may cause rebound. Sometimes the head of the guide plate touches the object and a sudden reaction force will be created, which will pop up the guide plate and eject towards the operator, causing injury.
• If the direction in which the tree falls is uncontrollable or the tree falls on top of other trees, operators cannot complete logging work in a controlled manner. 1) Stop logging operations and use ropes to select suitable vehicles to pull down trees.

Rebound warning

The following conditions may cause the chain saw to rebound:

• The guide head of the running chain saw touches a hard object or makes an emergency brake.
• The head of the running chain saw’s guide plate is touched.

Tension warning

When using the guide plate to cut from top to bottom, the pulling force of the chain saw is facing the opposite direction of the operator.

If the running chain saw touches a hard object and is clamped, the operator will lose control of the chain saw, causing serious or fatal injury.

• Grasp the chain saw handle tightly.
• Operate the chain saw as described in the manual.
• Keep the guide plate straight and cut.
• Please use full speed when cutting

Thrust warning

When using the guide plate to cut from bottom to top, the direction of the chain saw thrust is towards the operator.

If the running chain saw touches a hard object and is clamped, the operator will lose control of the chain saw, causing serious or fatal injury.

• Grasp the chain saw handle with both hands.
• Operate the chain saw as described in the manual.
• Keep the guide plate straight and cut.
• Please use full speed when cutting.

CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

• If the battery pack is not disconnected from the tool during cleaning, maintenance and repair, the chain saw may start suddenly, leading to serious injury and/or property damage.

1. Cut off the power supply.
2. Remove the working head of the chain saw.
3. Remove the guide plate and chain.

• Corrosive cleaning agents, high-pressure cleaning equipment or sharp cleaning tools may damage the chain saw, guide plate, chain, battery pack and charger.
  If the chain saw, guide plate, chain, battery pack and charger cannot be cleaned in the correct way, these parts may not function properly, or the safety device may not function, which may cause serious injury.

1. Clean the chain saw, guide plate, chain, battery pack and charger according to the instructions.

• If the chain saw, guide plate, chain, battery pack and charger cannot be cleaned and maintained in the correct way, the parts cannot perform as intended or the safety device no longer functions, this can lead to serious injury.

1. Do not try to maintain or repair the chain saw, battery pack and charger.
2. If the chain saw, battery pack and charger requires maintenance: please contact the dealer.
3. Maintain and repair the guide plate and chain as described in the manual.

• When cleaning and maintaining the chain saw, the user may be cut by the sharp blade.

1. Please wear cut-resistant gloves.

BEFORE OPERATION

• Ensure that the following parts are intact and safe to use:
  1) Chain saw host.
  2) Guide plate.
  3) Chain.
  4) Battery pack.
  5) Charger.

• Check the battery pack.

• The battery pack must be fully charged.

• Clean the chain saw.

• Install the guide plate and chain.

• Check the tension of the chain.

• Check the control system.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION

Warning: Please cut off the power before proceeding to the next step.

Installation of chain and guide plate

• Turn off the chain saw and unplug the battery pack.

• Use a wrench to turn the nut counter-clockwise and remove the sprocket cover, as shown in figure 1.
  

• Put the chain into the groove of the guide and refer to the arrow mark on the main body of the chain saw for the direction of the blade edge, then insert the guide fixed hole into the guide fixed column as shown in figure 2.
  
  (Note: Both sides of guide can be installed)

• Cover the guide cover, turn the knob slightly to flip the cover, be careful not to tighten, as shown in figure 3.
  

• Use a screwdriver to adjust the tension adjustment bolt to a proper position, as shown in figure 4.
  

• Turn knob tightly to complete the installation, as shown in figure 5.
  

Add chain oil

• Turn off the chain saw and disconnect the power supply.

• Unscrew the lid of the oil tank and add lubricating oil, as shown in figure 1.
  

• Tighten the lid of the oil tank and squeeze the soft lid once before use, as shown in figure 2.
  

Final steps before operation

• Please make sure that there are no children or other people within 15 meters (50 feet) of the work site, and ensure that there are no animals around.

• Power on: Insert the battery until the battery pack is locked and clicks. Press the power switch for 3 seconds to display the battery level. Figure 1.
  

• Hold the handle with your hand, press the lock button with your thumb and press the trigger with your index finger, the machine starts normally. Figure 2.
  

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

This machine is a single-handed saw, suitable for single-handed operation. There is only one control handle. Don’t get close to any moving part during operation.

Warning: If the saw chain rebounds, the saw chain will bounce towards the operator, which may cause serious or fatal injuries.

• Always cut at full speed.
• Do not cut with the head of the guide plate.
• When starting to cut, keep the chain saw at full speed and the guide plate vertical.
• Depending on the width of the guide, the head of the guide should expose the cut trees.
• Add the weight of the chain saw to the guide plate.
  
  

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Chain saw cleaning:

1. Turn off the chain saw and cut off the power supply.
2. Wipe the chain saw body with a damp cloth.
3. Remove the sprocket guard.
4. Clean the periphery of the sprocket and the body with a damp cloth.
5. Use a softer brush when cleaning the battery pack charger.
6. Install the sprocket cover.

Cleaning the guide plate and the chain saw:

1. Turn off the chain saw and cut off the power supply.
2. Remove the guide plate and chain.
3. Use a soft brush to clean the rear groove of the guide plate.
4. Use a soft brush to clean the chain.
5. Install the guide plate and chain.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance of sprocket:

1. The operator cannot disassemble the sprocket on their own.
2. If the sprocket is damaged or defective: please do not use the equipment and contact the dealer for replacement.

Maintenance of the guide plate:

1. If there are burrs on the edge of the guide plate groove, please polish it.
2. If you have any questions, please contact our dealer.

Maintenance of the grinding chain:

1. It is not advisable to use ordinary circular knives to polish the chain. Special circular knives must be used instead that are made specifically for polishing chains.
   

2. The saw teeth should only be polished forward and unidirectionally. Ensure that the saw teeth do not contact the saw blade when retracting backwards. Polish the shortest saw tooth first. The length of the saw tooth is used as the reference size of other saw teeth on the chain:
   a) The circular blade must match the chain pitch.
   b) The circular inner blade frustrates the head from the inside out.
   c) Grind in one direction according to the angle of the cutter head.
   d) Please maintain the angle of the cutting edge.
   e) Depending on the depth of the guide plate groove, the small teeth of the cutter head are wrong. (See figure below)
   f) If you have any questions, please contact the dealer.
   

PRECAUTIONS FOR BATTERY USE AND MAINTENANCE

• Do not charge in an area with temperatures lower than 0 ͦC or higher than 45 ͦC as this can damage the battery.
• Please ensure that the switch is in the off position before connecting the battery. Connecting the battery to the lithium chain saw when the switch is in the on position can cause accidents.
• Only use the charger specified by the manufacturer to charge the battery. Charging the battery with a charger that does not match the battery may cause fire and other hazards.
• When the battery is not in use, keep it away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects that can short-circuit the battery. Shortcircuiting the battery may cause burns or fire.
• It is forbidden to disassemble or reassemble the battery.
• Do not short-circuit the battery.
• It is forbidden to charge the battery near heat sources.
• It is forbidden to throw the battery into fire or water.
• It is forbidden to charge the battery near fire or under sunlight.
• It is forbidden to insert nails into the battery, hit or smash the battery in any way or throw it to the ground.
• It is forbidden to use seriously damaged or deformed batteries.
• Direct welding on the battery is prohibited.
• It is forbidden to charge the battery in reverse, reverse connection or over discharge.
• It is forbidden to connect the battery to a charging socket or a car’s cigarette lighter socket.

RECHARGEABLE CHAIN SAW SAFETY WARNINGS

• When the chain saw is in operation, keep a certain distance between your body and the chain saw. Before starting the chain saw, make sure that the chain is not in contact with anything. During operation of the chain saw, even the slightest distraction of the operator may cause clothing or body parts to be caught in the chain.
• Always hold the rear handle of the chain saw with your right hand and the front handle of the chain saw with your left hand. Doing the opposite will increase the risk of personal injury. Therefore, never grasp the rear handle with your left hand and grasp the front handle with your right hand.
• Because the chain may touch hidden wires, when operating the power tool only hold the insulated handle. When the chain comes into contact with a live wire, the exposed metal parts of the tools may also be live and lead to the operator getting electrocuted.
• Please wear protective glasses and ear protection. It is recommended to also wear protective equipment to protect the head, hands, legs and feet. Protective clothing will reduce the risk of personal injury caused by flying debris or accidentally touching the chain.
• Do not operate the chain saw on a tree. Operating the chain saw on a tree may cause personal injury.
• Make sure to stand firm and on a fixed, safe and level surface before operating the chain saw. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause the operator to lose balance or lose control of the chain saw.
• When cutting a branch under tension, beware of rebound. When the tension on the wood fiber is released, the elastic force on the branch may impact the operator, or the chain saw may cause it to lose control.
• When cutting shrubs and saplings, please be especially careful because slender materials may jam the chain and lead to injury.
• Before carrying the chain saw, turn it off and hold the front handle firmly. When transporting or storing the chain saw, be sure to close the guide cover. Properly operating the chain saw will reduce the possibility of accidental contact with a running chain.
• Lubricate, tension the chain and replace accessories according to the instructions. Improperly tensioning or lubricating the chain may cause the chain to break or increase the possibility of rebound.
• Keep the handle dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Greasy handles are prone to slippage.
• Only use the chain saw for cutting wood. Do not use the chain saw for purposes other than the ones intended. For example: Do not use the chain saw to cut plastic, stone, or non-wood building materials. The use of the chain saw for operations other than the intended ones will result in dangerous situations.

REASONS FOR TOOL REBOUND AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES

• If the head of the guide plate touches an object or the wood clamps and squeezes the chain during cutting, it may cause rebound.
• Sometimes when the head of the guide plate touches an object, a sudden reaction force will be formed, which will pop up the guide plate and eject it towards the operator.
• Squeezing the chain along the upper part of the guide plate may quickly push the guide plate back to the operator. Any of these reaction forces may cause the chain saw to lose control and cause serious personal injury.
• Do not rely solely on the safety equipment installed on the chain saw.
• As a chain saw operator, you should take a variety of measures to prevent accidents or personal injury during cutting operations.
• Misoperation of the chain saw, incorrect operation steps or operating conditions will cause rebound. Observe the precautions described below:

1. Keep a firm grip and hold the chain saw handle with both thumbs and the rest of your fingers. Adjust the position of the body and arms to prevent rebound forces. If you follow the correct precautions, the operator can control the rebound force, please be careful during operation.
2. Do not extend the tool too far and do not hold the chain saw above your shoulders during operation. This will help to prevent the head of the guide plate from touching the object and ensure better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
3. Please use only replacement guides and chains specified by the manufacturer. Using inappropriate replacement guides and chains may cause the chain to break and or rebound.
4. Follow the manufacturer’s polishing and maintenance instructions to maintain the chain. Reducing the depth and height will cause frequent rebounds.

ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL

In order to avoid damages on transportation, the tool has to be delivered in solid packaging. Packaging as well as the unit and accessories are made of recyclable materials and can be disposed accordingly. The tool’s plastics components are marked according to their material, which makes it possible to remove environmental friendly and differentiated because of available collection facilities.

Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste material!
In observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.

• The manufacturer reserves the right to make minor changes to product design and technical specifications without prior notice unless these changes significantly affect the performance and safety of the products. The parts described / illustrated in the pages of the manual that you hold in your hands may also concern other models of the manufacturer’s product line with similar features and may not be included in the product you just acquired.
• To ensure the safety and reliability of the product and the warranty validity, all repair, inspection, repair or replacement work, including maintenance and special adjustments, must only be carried out by technicians of the authorized service department of the manufacturer.
• Always use the product with the supplied equipment. Operation of the product with non-provided equipment may cause malfunctions or even serious injury or death. The manufacturer and the importer shall not be liable for injuries and damages resulting from the use of non-conforming equipment.

The power tools have been manufactured according to strict standards, set by our company, which are aligned with the respective European quality standards. The power tools of our company are provided with a warranty period of 24 months for non-professional use, 12 months for professional use and 12 months for batteries and chargers. The warranty is valid from the date of purchase of the product. Proof of the warranty right is the purchase document of the tool (retail receipt or invoice). Under no circumstances shall the company cover the relevant cost of spare parts and respecti ve required working hours unless a copy of the purchase document is presented. In case the repair has to be done by our service department the cost of transpor-tati on (to and from) is enti rely borne by the sender (client). The tools must be sent for repair to the company or to an authorized workshop in the appropriate way and means of transport.

WARRANTY EXEMPTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:

1. Spare parts that wear out naturally as a consequence of being used (brushes, cables, switches, chargers, chokes etc.).
2. Tools damaged as a result of non-compliance with the instructi ons of the manufacturer.
3. Tools poorly maintained.
4. Use of improper lubricants or accessories.
5. Tools given to third enti ti es free of charge.
6. Damage due to an electrical connecti on at a voltage other than that indicated on the appliance plate.
7. Connecti on to a non-earthed power supply.
8. Change in current voltage.
9. Damage resulti ng from the use of salty water (e.g., washing machines, pumps).
10. Damage or malfuncti on resulti ng from improper cleaning procedure of the tool.
11. Contact of the tool with chemicals, or damage as a result of moisture or corrosion.
12. Tools that have been modifi ed or opened by unauthorized personnel.
13. Tools used for rent.

The warranty covers only the free of charge replacement of the component that presents a manufacturing defect or material failure. In case of lack of a specifi c spare part the company reserves the right to replace the tool with another corresponding model. Aft er all warranty procedures have been concluded, the warranty period of the tool shall not be extended or renewed. The spare parts or tools that are replaced remain in the possession of our company. Requirements, other than those menti oned in this warranty form, regarding power tools repair or damage thereof, do not apply. Greek law and relati ve regulati ons apply to this warranty.

WARRANTY

This appliance is a quality product. It was designed in compliance with current  technical standards and made carefully using normal, good quality materials.  The warranty period is 24 months for non-professional use and 12 months torpor fissional use and commences on the date of purchase, which can be verifyed by the receipt, invoice or delivery note. No separate warranty period will commence for spare parts that may be ted. We cannot off er a warranty for damage and defects on appliances or their parts caused by the use of excessive force, improper treatment and servicing. This also applies for failures to comply with the opera ng manual and the install on or spare and accessory parts that are not included in our range of products. In the event of interference with of modify cu owns to the appliance by unauthorized persons, the warranty will be rendered void. Damages that are aƩ rebuttable to improper handling, over loading, or natural wear and tear are excluded from the guarantee. Damages caused by the manufacturer or by a material defect will be corrected at no charge by repair or by providing spare parts. The prerequisite is that the equipment is handed over assembled, and complete with the proof of sale and guarantee. For a guarantee claim, only use the original packaging. That way, we can guarantee quick and smooth guarantee processing. Please send us the appliances post-paid or request a Freeway sackers. Unfortunately we will be unable to accept appliances that are not postpaid. The warranty does not cover parts that are subject to natural wear and tear.
