CHECK FUNCTIONS
AILERON | ELEVATOR |
---|
- Check that the control surfaces respond to the appropriate movements of the transmitter joysticks. If not, swap over the servo lead at the receiver.
- Check the neutral position of the control surfaces; you may need to screw the clevises in or out to correct any discrepancy.
- Stand behind the model.
- Check the direction of rotation of the servos:
- Move the aileron stick to the right (a), and the right aileron (a) must rise, the left aileron (b) fall.
- Pull the elevator stick back towards you (c), and the trailing edge of both elevators should rise (c).
- If either function works in the wrong way, correct it using your transmitter’s servo reverse switch for that channel.
CHECK MODEL’S BALANCE
- Place the flight battery in its compartment without connecting.
- Mark the Centre of Gravity (CG) on both sides of the fuselage; the position is shown in the photo.
- Support the model at the marked points and allow it to hang freely. When correctly balanced the airplane will remain horizontal with the nose slightly down.
- If necessary, adjust the position of the flight battery to achieve the correct CG.
- Mark the battery location in the fuselage, so that you can be sure of positioning it correctly after recharging.
- Pack scrap pieces of foam around the battery in its final position, otherwise there is a danger of it shifting in flight and altering the model’s balance.
- Charge the flight battery and the model is ready for flight.
MAINTENANCE ON THE EDF
- The ducted fan unit is accessible from underneath if you need to carry out maintenance work or repairs.
- Ensure that the wire colors match correctly.
OPERATION
- We recommend that you ask an experienced modeler to help you initially; to give the model a powerful hand-launch.
- The model must be launched directly into any existing wind.
- Switch the motor on, and launch the airplane strongly into the wind, with the fuselage and wings levelled.
- Allow the F35 Jet to fly straight and level initially; don’t try to turn it when it is close to the ground.
- Adjust the trims if necessary, so that the model settles into a steady climb.
- Check the model’s response to control commands from the transmitter.
- You may need to increase or reduce the control surface travels once the model is back on the ground.
- Take the airplane up to a safe height and check its stalling speed.
- Keep the speed well up on the landing approach to avoid stalling.
- If you had to move the trims during the flight, correct the mechanical linkages before flying again. This allows you to re-centre the trims, so that full trim travel is available for subsequent flights.
- We reserve the right to introduce technical modifications and suggest that you check our website for updates

BRUSHLESS ESC MANUAL
Programmable Items (The option written in bold font is the default setting)
-
Brake Setting: Enabled / Disabled
-
Battery Type: LiPo / NiMH
-
Low Voltage Protection: Soft Cut-Off (Gradually reduce the output power) / Cut-Off (Immediately stop the output power)
-
Low Voltage Protection Threshold: Low / Medium / High
a. For lithium battery, the battery cell number is calculated automatically. Low / medium / high cut-off voltage for each cell is: 2,85 / 3,15 / 3,3V. For example: For 3S LiPo, when “Medium” cut-off threshold is set, the cut-off voltage will be 3,15 X 3 = 9,45V.
b. For NiMH battery, low / medium / high cut-off voltages are 0% / 50% / 65% of the start-up voltage (i.e., the initial voltage of battery pack), and 0% means the low voltage cut-off function is disabled. For example: For a 6 cells NiMH battery, fully charged voltage is 1,44 X 6 = 8,64V, when “Medium” cut-off threshold is set, the cut-off voltage is 8,64 * 50% 4,32V. -
Start-up Mode: Normal / Soft / Super-Soft (300ms / 1,5s / 3s)
a. Normal Mode is suitable for fixed-wing aircraft. Soft or Super-Soft modes are suitable for helicopters. The initial acceleration of the Soft and Super- Soft modes is slower, it takes 1,5 seconds for Soft start-up or 3 seconds fur Super-Soft start-up from initial throttle advance to full throttle. If the throttle is completely closed (throttle stick moved to bottom position) and opened again (Throttle stick move to top position) within 3 seconds after the first start-up, the re-start-up will be temporarily changed to normal mode to get rid of the chance of a crash caused by slow throttle response. This special design is suitable for aerobatic flight when quick throttle response needed. -
Timing: Low / Medium / High (3,75° / 15° / 26,25°)
a. Usually, low timing is suitable for most motors. To get higher speed, High timing value can be chosen.
IMPORTANT: Remote controls have different throttle travel lengths. Please calibrate the throttle travel before flying.
HROTTLE RANGE CALIBRATION
Switch on the transmitter and move the throttle to the top position.
Connect a battery to the controller and wait two seconds.
A beep-beep sound should be heard. This means that the top point of the
transmitter has been stored.
Move the throttle to the lowest position, several beep sounds will be heard.
The beep sounds indicate the number of cells detected in the battery.
A long beep sounds, this means that the lowest point of the throttle has been
stored.
TANDARD START PROCEDURE
Move the throttle to the lowest position and switch on the transmitter.
Connect the battery to the controller. A sequence of beeps will be heard
indicating that everything is OK.
Several beeps will be heard indicating the cell count of the battery.
Once the self-test is complete, a long beep will be heard.
Move the throttle up to fly.
ROTECTION FUNCTION
- Start-up failure protection: If the motor fails to start within two seconds of throttle application, the ESC will cut-off the output power. In this case, the throttle stick MUST be moved to the bottom again to restart the motor. (Such a situation happens in the following cases: The connection between ESC and motor is not reliable, the propeller or the motor is blocked, the gearbox id damaged, etc.)
- Over-heat protection: When the temperature of the ESC is over 110 Celsius degrees, the ESC will reduce the output power.
- Throttle signal loss protection: The ESC will reduce the output power if throttle signal lost for 1 second, further loss for 2 seconds will cause the output power to be cut-off completely.
