Installation Instructions

MOUNTING AND LAMPING / RE-LAMPING

MOUNTING FIXTURE:

  1. Place gasket onto back side of canopy. Using approved wire connectors, make necessary wire connections from the remote ballast to the fixture leads.
  2. Using the provided mounting screw, attach canopy with fixture to junction box.

LAMPING / RE-LAMPING (MH PAR-20 & PAR-30 / PAR38)

  1. Loosen set screw in cap with 5/64″ Allen wrench ­ Do not remove set screw completely.
  2. Remove cap from body twisting slightly while pulling.
  3. Turn lamp counterclockwise and unscrew from socket.
  4. Without touching the bulb portion of the lamp, reverse step 3 to intall new lamp. If bulb has been touched, wipe off with a clean, cotton cloth.
  5. If o-ring is dry, lubricate lightly with high temp grease.
  6. Replace cap by twisting slightly while pushing.
  7. Tighten set screw with 5/64″ Allen wrench. DO NOT OVER

REMOTE BALLAST HOUSING

INSTALLATION:

  1. Remove the ballast box cover by loosening and removing machine screw.
  2. Run supply wire to the ballast box.
  3. Feed supply wire through the knock out holes in the bottom of the ballast box.
  4. Wire supply wire to ballast per instructions on ballast. (Failure to do so will void warranty.) Run ground wire to ground screw (labeled “GRND”) on inside of ballast box. Do not remove ballast. Doing so will void warranty.
  5. Wire ballast to fixture per instructions on the ballast. (Failure to do so will void warranty.)
  6. Coil excess wire into the ballast box.
  7. Re-install the machine screw that holds the ballast box cover to the ballast box.

MAXIMUM REMOTE DISTANCE:

  1. Maximum remote distance for the remote ballast housing is 20FT from ballast to lamp socket.
  2. Exceeding this remote distance may damage ballast and will void the warranty.

Lighted lamp is HOT!
WARNING
­ To reduce the risk of FIRE OR INJURY TO PERSONS: Turn off/unplug and allow to cool before replacing lamp.
Lamp gets HOT quickly! Contact only switch/plug when turning on.
Do not touch hot lens, guard, or enclosure (see diagram/picture). Keep lamp away from materials that may burn.
Do not touch the lamp at any time. Use a soft cloth. Oil from skin may damage lamp.
Do not operate the luminaire fitting with a missing or damages shield.

Power Unit:
This fixture requires a ballast for operation (Included with ballast housing). Verify power requirements with ballast manufacturer.
Wire: Verify requirements with ballast manufacturer, national, and local building codes.
Wire Connectors : Use silicone filled, waterproof wire nuts to make electrical connections.
Codes: Verify conduit requirements and installation requirements for outdoor lighting with local codes.
