  1. PPAMP is an adapter that is plugged into PP products with 4mm banana plugs (such as PP3/ PP4, etc.).

PPAMP uses:
This adapter is used as a measurement tool for DC currents. It is mainly used for PP products, such as automotive fan circuit detection, to find the part of the circuit failure, in order to replace and repair.

Warning: Risk of electric shock The meter should not be used unless the meter bottom case and battery Cover are fully snapped in place.

Operating instructions

  • On/off button: Short press this button to turn on, or long press this button for more than two seconds to turn off.
  • MAX/MIN button: Short press this button to clear the MAX and MIN values displayed on the screen, long press this button for more than two seconds to turn on the backlight, and long press again for more than two seconds to turn off the backlight.
  • The power input is connected to the positive terminal of the PP product, and the dynamic output is connected to the load to supply power to the load circuit.

Backlighting

  • In the process of measurement, if the ambient light is too dark, making it difficult to read, press the “MAX/MIN” key to turn on the backlight and turn it off automatically after about 20 seconds.
  • If you press “MAX/MIN” during this period, the backlight will be turned off.

Automatic shutdown

  • If there is no operation within any of the 10 minutes after power on, the meter will enter the sleep state and shut down automatically to save power.
  • After the automatic shutdown, press the “On/off” key, and then the instrument will reboot and reset to enter the working state.
  • If the measurement state (input about 5mA or more) is kept after the power is turned on, the power will not be turned off automatically.

Measurement preparation

  • The input current must not exceed 20 A. This is to protect the adapter’s internal wiring from being damaged.
  • Inserting the meter pen of the PP product into the upper end of the adapter (dynamic output)
  • The lower end of the adapter (power input) is inseted into the PP product.
  • Pressing the “On/off” key to turn on the power and display the DC measurement status.
  • Connect the meter pen reliably to the circuit to be tested.

Current measurement

  • Operating the PP product supplies power to the circuit to be tested via the adapter
  • Reading on the LCD

Maximum and minimum values

  • Displaying the value of the measured current, and at the same time displaying the maximum and minimum values of the measurement process
  • The maximum value and minimum value will be cleared and displayed as the current measured value after pressing MAX/MIN key.

Notes

  • Do not use its output current beyond the specification range, which may cause damage to the PPAMP.
  • Long time high current operation may cause the PPAMP to overheat, and please wait for the PPAMP heat dissipation to return to normal temperature before use.
  • When connecting a large load, make sure that each input and output terminal and wire connection is stable and reliable to reduce the heat caused by contact resistance energy consumption.
  • It is strongly recommended that the PPAMP power input be plugged into a machine with an internal jump-off switch like PP3, etc. for use. This way the internal current-limiting trip switches of these machines provide good protection for the PPAMP when the load is too high. And the power cord for these classes of meters can also provide a high enough current to ensure safety.
  • Do not use this equipment to measure mains, it only can use for circuit of automotive.

Indoor use.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired.

Maintenance

  • Replacing the battery

Warning: Before opening the battery cover of the meter, the meter pen should be removed from the measuring circuit to avoid the risk of electric shock.

  • If the symbol appears, it indicates that the battery should be replaced.
  • Unscrew the fastening screw of the instrument battery cover and move it out of the way.
  • Replace the old battery. Note: The polarity of the battery must not be reversed.
