POWER PROBE PPMT Micro Torch Instructions
PPMT Micro Torch

THE POWER PROBE MICRO TORCH DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY BUTANE GAS WHEN PURCHASED. FOLLOW THE (GAS FILLING INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE IT OPERATIONAL.

IGNITION

  1. Fill with butane gas,
  2. Tur the ‘GAS CONTROL LEVER” slowly to the fire position (marked with a flame),the gas will blow out.
  3. Press IGNITION BUTTON* The flame willgnite instantly.
  4. ATTENTION: IF THE GAS CONTROL LEVERIS IN THE IGNITION POSITION AND THE GAS IS ESCAPING FROM. ‘THE MOUTH, BUT THE FLAME CANNOT BE LIT WHEN PRESSING DOWN THE IGNITION BUTTON, ADJUST THE POSITION OF THE AIR CONTROL SLEEVE TO MAKE THE SMALL HOLE ON THE SLEEVE COINCIDE WITH THE HOLE ‘N THE CONNECTING TUBE.

SHUT-OFF
Turn the ‘GAS FLOW CONTROL KNOB”to the right (clockwise) to shut offthe flame. Be sure the ‘GAS FLOW. ‘CONTROL KNOB’is in contact with the right side of the cover.

FLAME LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
“The flame length can be adjusted from 12mm to 32mm (1/2in.t0 1 a in.). Tur the ‘GAS FLOW CONTROL KNOBt0 the left to make the flame longer, and to the right to make the flame shorter and finally to shut t off. Max heat for torch set up is 1250C and 2400F. Max heat at the ip for soldering set up is S00C and 950F.

Satisfactory performance will not be achieved when the gasin the cylinder s too cool (surfounding temperature is too low or long term continuous use,say 30 minutes),or the pressure in the cylinder is too low (from lack of gas). When too cool, warm-up cylinder with your hands, DONT TRY TO REHEAT WITH A NAKED FLAME OR BY IMMERSING IT IN HOT WATER. When there is not enough pressure, refill with more gas.

THERMAL POWER CONTROL
Tur the ‘AIR CONTROL SLEEVE’either to the left or to the right to set the required flame temperature.

NOTE: The highest temperature attainable will be about 1300 deg C or 2370F.

GAS REFILLING
Use only high quality butane gas.

  1. Make sure torch is extinguished before refiling.
  2. Shake gas container to warm-up fuel.
  3. Insert container nozzle vertically down into the ‘GAS REFILL OPENING? Use a pumping action for best results
  4. When gas starts to overflow, pull nozzle away. Refilling usually takes 25 to 35 seconds.
  5. Allow a few minutes for gas to stabilize.

AT TIMES, DUE TO INCORRECT ENGAGEMENT OF THE CONTAINER NOZZLE, PARTS OF THE VALVE MAY BECOME JAMMED AND WILL CAUSE LEAKAGE. IN THIS CASE, INSERT THE CONTAINER NOZZLE INTO THE FILLER VALVE AGAIN AND MOVE THE NOZZLE UP AND DOWN AGAIN.

CAUTION

  1. DO NOT TOUCH FLAME GUARD WHEN HOT.
  2. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
  3. BUTANE GAS IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE, HANDLE WITH CARE
  4. DO NOT DROP, PUNCTURE, INCINERATE, OR EXPOSE TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR TEMPERATURES ABOVE 122 DEGREES F.
  5. ALWAYS POINT AWAY FROM EYES AND BODY WHEN OPERATING.
  6. MAKE SURE GAS FLOW IS COMPLETELY OFF AFTER USING.
  7. DO NOT USE CONTINUOUSLY FOR LONGER THAN ONE HOUR.
