Model 92 & 92B Operators Manual – High Speed Mulch Layer

  1. Proper loading of plastic
    A. Place a roll of plastic on the extra roll carrier. Release lock on handle by pulling the large washer back. Raise the handle to “dump” roll onto the lower roller assembly.
    B. Make sure the end of the plastic is coming off the top of the roll when it is facing the back of the unit. ( See drawing)
    Assembly Instructions
    C. Lock extra roller holder back in place.
    D. Lower handle and roller assembly to trap plastic between the large roller and “tails” on wings. This feature reduces wind issues when laying mulch. Reload the extra roll holder with next roll..

  2. Initial setup
    A. On level ground, pull the pan into soil to start shaping a bed.
    B. Lengthen the third arm on your 3-Point hitch until there is a small gap (5/16″) under or between the red clamp and the green side arms. This will allow the green side arms to float. The green side arms must not be touching the pick up plate in the red clamp.
    C. Adjust the smooth wheels into the valleys made by the wings. This holds the plastic down and snugs it against the bed. Adjust angle of the wheels to get desired tension on film.
    D. Adjust the disc hiller for depth and angle for proper coverage of mulch.
    E. Adjust dirt shields as necessary for the speed you desire. Ensure that they are not touching the plastic.
    F. Both the 92 & 92B are self starting. When the plastic is locked in place between the roller and rods or “tails,” set the unit down and drive ahead.
