Getting Started

Get ready
To start, you’ll need your robot, a cleaning pad, a charging station, a drip tray, and power cord.| Position the charging station
Place a charging station near an outlet in an area with good Wi-Fi coverage.| Plug in the charging station
Plug the power cord into the charging station, then into the wall. Wrap the cord so it won’t get in the way as the robot comes and goes.

Read the enclosed safety information guide first before using your robot.

Attach the drip tray & wake up your robot
Place the drip tray onto the charging station and slide the robot onto the contacts. After a few minutes, a sound will tell you the robot is awake.| Connect and update

Attach a cleaning pad
Slide a wet mopping or dry sweeping pad onto the

**GENERAL

**

WARNING

  • Do not disassemble your robot or the integrated dock-charger known as Home Base other than instructed in the Owner’s Guide. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Do not submerge your robot in water.
  • Your robot is designed for indoor use on hard surface floors only.
  • Do not operate your robot in areas with exposed electrical outlets on the floor.
  • Do not use unauthorized chargers. The use of an unauthorized charger could cause the battery to generate heat, smoke, catch fire, or explode.
  • Your robot comes with a region-approved power supply cord and is designed to be plugged into a standard household AC power outlet only. Do not use any other power supply cord or power strip. For replacement cords, please contact Customer Care to ensure a proper selection of country-specific power supply cords.
  • Store and operate your robot in room temperature environments only.
  • Your robot is not a toy. Do not sit or stand on this robot. Small children and pets should be supervised when your robot is operating.
  • Be aware that floors may be slippery after wet cleaning with your robot.
  • Your robot operates quietly. Take care when walking in the area the robot is cleaning to avoid stepping on it and tripping.
  • If the room to be cleaned contains a balcony, a physical barrier should be used to prevent robot access to the balcony and ensure safe operation.
  • Do not use this device in an area with sharp objects, glass, or anything that is burning or smoking.
  • If your robot passes over a power cord and drags it, there is a chance an object could be pulled off a table or shelf. Before using your robot, pick up objects like clothing, loose papers, pull cords for blinds or curtains, power cords, and any fragile objects. Extinguish candles. Shut off space heaters.
  • Before using your robot, remove fragile objects from the cleaning area, including objects on furniture that can fall if the furniture is pushed or bumped.
  • Do not place anything on top of your robot or charging station.
  • The failure to maintain the cleanliness of charger contacts could result in a loss of ability for your robot to charge the battery.
  • Perform the required maintenance per the Owner’s Guide to ensure the safe operation of the robot and charging station.

HOME BASE CHARGING STATION

WARNING

  • Do not use Home Base with a damaged cord or plug. If the cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced.
  • Always disconnect your robot from the Home Base before cleaning or maintaining it.
  • Never handle Home Base with wet hands.
  • Please ensure the voltage rating for the enclosed Home Base matches the standard outlet voltage.
  • Do not use the charging station as a step.
  • Only use rechargeable battery packs with the correct specifications supplied with your robot by iRobot (model number ABL-C}. Other types of batteries may burst causing injury. Always contact Customer Care for the correct replacement of your battery.
  • Charge your robot only with the power supply provided. The provided power supply delivers safety extra low voltage corresponding to the input marking on your robot which is required to maintain safe operation.
  • Do not allow liquids to get on or into the charging station.

NOTICE

  • Product may not be used with any type of power converter.
    The use of power converters will immediately void the warranty.

  • If you live in an area prone to electrical storms, it is recommended that you use additional surge protection.
    Your robot’s Home Base may be protected with a surge protector in the event of severe electrical storms.

BATTERIES

WARNING

  • Do not open, crush, heat above 176°F: 80°C, or incinerate.
    Follow the Owner’s Guide instructions for proper use, maintenance, handling, and disposal

  • Do not short-circuit the battery by allowing metal objects to contact battery terminals or immerse in liquid. Do not subject batteries to mechanical shock.

  • Always remove the battery from your robot before transportation.

  • Lithium-ion batteries and products that contain lithium-ion batteries are subject to stringent transportation regulations. If you need to ship this product (with the battery included) for service, travel, or any other reason, you MUST contact Customer Care for shipping instructions.

  • Periodically inspect the battery pack for any sign of damage or leakage. Do not charge damaged or leaking battery packs, do allow the liquid to come in contact with skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice. Place the battery in a sealed plastic bag and dispose of safely according to local environmental regulations return it to your local authorized iRobot Service Center for disposal.

  • Keep the battery pack clean and dry. Wipe the cell or battery terminals with a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.

  • Before every use, check the battery pack for any sign of damage leakage. Do not charge damaged or leaking battery packs.

  • Charge indoors only.

  • Only use the included Home Base to charge the iRobot Braava jet battery.

BATTERIES
CAUTION

  • Battery usage by children should be supervised. Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or a battery has been swallowed.

NOTICE

  • The battery pack must be removed from the robot before disposal.
  • For a replacement battery pack, visit www.irobot.com.
  • Do not use non-rechargeable batteries. Use only the rechargeable battery supplied with the product. For replacement, purchase an identical iRobot battery or contact iRobot Customer Care for alternative battery options.
  • Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
  • Always charge and remove the battery from your robot and accessories before long-term storage.

iRobot – Limited Warranty
NOTE: This Limited Warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the laws relating to the sale of consumer products.

OVERVIEW

iRobot (‘We’, ‘Our’, ‘Us’) warrants that subject to the exclusions and limitations set out below, this Product (including batteries if applicable) shall be in good working order during the period of one (1) year from the date of purchase (the ‘Warranty Period’). In the event that the Product fails to meet the warranty standard to our reasonable satisfaction, we will within a commercially reasonable time, free of charge, either repair or replace the Product as described below.
This Limited Warranty is only valid and enforceable in the country where you purchased the Product, provided that the said country is on the list of Specified Countries (http://global.irobot.com/) defined in the consumer terms of sale which applied when you purchased the Product.

MAKING A CLAIM UNDER THE LIMITED WARR ANTY
If you wish to make a warranty claim, please contact your local distributor, whose contact details can be found at http://global.irobot.com/. Upon contacting your distributor,  please have the serial number of your Product ready and the original proof of purchase from an authorized reseller, showing the date of purchase and full details of the Product.  Our colleagues will advise you of the process involved in making a claim.
Any claim under the Limited Warranty is subject to you notifying us (or our authorized service company/distributor) of the alleged defect within a reasonable time of it coming to your attention and, in any case, by no later than the expiry of the Warranty Period.

REMEDY
If a claim is received within the Warranty Period and the Product is found to have failed under the warranty we shall, at our option:

  • repair the Product,
  • exchange the Product with o product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or
  • exchange the Product with a product that is a new and upgraded model which has at least equivalent or upgraded function to the original product.

As far as applicable laws permit, the Warranty Period will not be extended or renewed or otherwise affected due to subsequent exchange, resale, repair, or replacement of the Product. However, part(s) repaired or replaced during the Warranty Period will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or for ninety (90) days from the date of repair or replacement, whichever is longer.
Replacement or repaired products, as applicable, will be returned to you as soon as commercially practicable. All parts of the Product or other equipment that we replace shall become our property. If the Product is found not to be covered by this Limited Warranty, we (and our authorized service companies) reserve the right to charge a handling fee. When repairing or replacing the Product, we may use products or ports that are new, equivalent to new, or reconditioned.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
Unless agreed in writing, the Limited Warranty will not apply if the defect(s) relate to: (a) normal wear and tear (including, without limitation, wear and tear of batteries if applicable), (b) defects caused by rough or inappropriate handling or use or damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning or other acts of nature, (c) if the product contains a battery and the fact that the battery has been short-circuited, if the seals of the battery enclosure or the cells are broken or show evidence of tampering or if the battery has been used in equipment other than those for which it has been specified, (d) non-compliance with the Product instructions, (e) wilful or deliberate damage, neglect or negligence; (f) use of spare parts, an unauthorized cleaning solution if applicable, or other replacement items (including consumables) which are not provided or recommended by us; (g) any alteration or modification to the Product which has been carried out by you or a third party not authorised by us, (h) any failure to adequately package the Product for transportation, (i) extreme or external causes beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to, breakdowns, fluctuations, or interruptions in electric power, ISP (internet service provider) service, or wireless networks, U) weak and/or inconsistent wireless signal strength in your home, (k) any Product(s) purchased from unauthorized dealers/resellers ..

This limited Warranty does not apply to accessories and other consumable items, such as filters, brushes, disposable dirt bags, cleaning pads, or cleaning solutions. This Limited Warranty will be invalid if (a) the Product’s serial number has been removed, erased, defaced, altered, or is illegible in any way (as determined in our sole discretion), or (b) you are in breach of the terms of this limited warranty or your contract with us.

LIMITATION O F ! ROBOT’S LIABILITY
This limited Warranty is your sole and exclusive remedy against iRobot and iRobot’s sole and exclusive liability in respect of defects in your Product. This limited Warranty replaces all other iRobot warranties and liabilities, whether oral, written, (non-mandatory) statutory, contractual, in tort, or otherwise, including, without limitation, and where permitted by applicable law, any implied conditions, warranties, or other terms as to the satisfactory quality or fitness for purpose. However, this limited Warranty shall neither exclude nor limit i) any of your legal (statutory) rights under the applicable national laws or ii) any of your rights against the seller of the Product.
To the extent permitted by applicable law(s), iRobot does not assume any liability for loss of or damage to or corruption of data, for any loss of profit, loss of use of Products or functionality, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of revenues or loss of anticipated savings, increased costs or expenses or for any indirect loss or damage, consequential loss or damage or special loss or damage.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, iRobot”s liability shall be limited to the purchase value of the Product. The above limitations shall not apply in case of gross negligence or intentional misconduct of iRobot or in case of death or personal injury resulting from iRobot’s proven negligence.
